ONCE A WEEK

Bless me Father for its been a week since my last confession.....I mean, post! The time just disappears and I wake up here in LA again on a Saturday morning and realize the blog has suffered of late. I blame Twitter. The tweeting is so immediate that why bother sitting down and typing/composing/blogging. Fuck it, if we can't say it in less than 140 characters, it's not worth saying. Well, what do I care really, I like this blog so here I am again! Although I'm winding down slowly towards the first diving trip of 09 - this time it's to an island off the coast of Belize. We are doing the private thing this time, no hotel. A villa with nothing between us and the ocean but sand. Sounds great and I'm sure I'll tweet like crazy from there! And of course, plenty of diving.... which should mean some cool pics and video. Pack the video camera, Morrison, NOW!

Check out these two Circus Diablo videos I found on YouTube. The gig in Houston sounds great! We really should do this again I think! And the "Dignified" video is very interesting on a number of levels. First of all, that anyone would take the time to put those images to our music is very flattering to me. I had no idea that this had been done and I love it! But on a completely different level, if you look through my videos, you will find a couple that have no sound. This is because the record label has rooted around, found the videos that I have put a soundtrack to, and claimed copyright infringement. And technically they are right. My blog from the UK had the Sex Pistols Anarchy as part of the soundtrack. And The Cult's Breathe video that I made when I was playing on that tour has also fallen victim. Whatever - I understand, but am sad about it. BUT what was interesting to me is that there is a copyright infringement issue with my Circus Diablo LOADED video!! Go figure! I think people are being over zealous out there. Personally, I love that this guy has taken the time to put this together and hope that the label stays away from fucking with it. More stuff like THIS!!

All the meetings I have been taking over the past few weeks have been going great and even though I've been saying it for a while now, I'll have some details to report very soon. Some really cool creative stuff is flying around - TV, Film and Music - and I am like the proverbial pig in shit. Lots of diverse projects looking good and I am now hungry to get my teeth sunk into about three of em! I do know that I have landed a role in a movie called The Necropolitan which shoots in the fourth quarter of the year. The role is a lead type role (!!!) which basically means LOTS of lines!! It's another horror film and I cannot wait to get on set. Very excited by that one.

Hung out with some friends at Matt's SORUM/NOCE store party the other day. He has a whole new line of stuff and I have to say that I could spend a fortune in his store. SO much good stylish clobber in there. Now he's got shoes and hats along with all the shirts and leather that he's been doing. Killer jackets too - Sorum has always known how to dress and he's trying to pass that on to us now! So take note kids and buy yerself some style!!

That's my Saturday morning confessional. It's car time again (have I really had my car for three years??) - so I get to drive myself and my wife completely crazy while I become pure M.A.N. and tweak out on trim levels, wheel size, color and ..."How MUCH???" - see ya when the madness subsides :)

Peace

Billy

MORE OF THE SAME

OK. So its a quiet Saturday morning here in Chez Morrison, and I finally decided to update the weblog. I haven't been posting as much for a number of reasons. A) Twitter seems to take over as a way more immediate tool - not sure how I feel about that, but running with it for now. I may be fine with a Blog and a MySpace site, but the jury's out for now. B) Nothing too much is going on that actually warrants posting about at the moment. I have literally been taking meeting after meeting, developing and running multiple project ideas around various places. It's very exciting for me, but very boring to read about. And C) I have a shit memory and just plain forget to update! Oh yeah, and D) I am fully focused on the upcoming scuba trip to the islands off the coast of Belize. Sun, sea and scuba - my fave combo!

I ran an experiment yesterday. I wanted to see how life WITHOUT COFFEE would feel. I made it 36 hours without any caffeine. I woke up super early this morning and have already had two large ones!! That shit is TRIPPY!! Oh my GOD! Pounding headache, trippy eyes (you know, like when you do too many mushrooms so you do some Percocet, and then you add some charlie and things start to....oh, I'm sorry, I lost myself for a moment then!). You get my drift. I realized JUST how much my body needs caffeine. Maybe I'll wait till a good video game comes out and lock myself in for a week and detox. Or maybe I wont.

But talking of video games - FALLOUT 3!! I just started playing it a couple of weeks ago (a little behind the rest of the world, I admit) and it is hands down the most intense, huge, interesting, life consuming game I have ever played. The wife is threatening legal action, my beard is reaching my chest, I really should eat something..... the collateral damage from this game is HUGE!! I'm loving it - along with Killzone 2, I'm taken care of right now. Also, I have caught right up with all my TV - Nip/Tuck (weird season finale but a great season in general), Dexter, Fringe, 24 (Bill's dead! Bill's dead!), Lost, Dollhouse (gotta love Eliza!). The amount of entertainment my mind soaks up is staggering! Websites, TV, movies, music, games.....

Bored now - time to exercise. Watch out for a new WILDHEARTS record later this year, apparently called "Chutzpah" - fantastic title!! I cannot wait to hear it and see 'em play again. For anyone new to my world, the top three artists that shaped my view of music and that influence me on a daily basis would be THE SEX PISTOLS, THE WILDHEARTS and DAVID BOWIE. Also, check out a band called MODERN SCIENCE. (www.myspace.com/modernscienceband) - I am describing them as the sound of Stevie Wonder fucking Jamiroquai in Robbie Williams bathroom. Pure pop genius and produced by Kevin Churko (who has been doing some amazing work with Ozzy Osbourne the past few years). I have to watch Basketball Diaries and Pulp Fiction today for some research (hardly a chore - both movies are insanely brilliant) and will spend the remainder of the day on my back behind the racks, covered in cable, swearing profusely and wondering why shit in the studio doesn't work.

Peace

Billy
