CAMP FREDDY NEWS - OCTOBER 2008

Morning all. So if you are planning on being around the Malibu area on Saturday October 4th, you might wanna swing by the ubiquitous Cross Creek Shops, and search out the John Varvatos store. I think its a new one, cos John has asked us to perform a small acoustic set in the afternoon to help celebrate the opening. And being huge fans of John's clothes and fashion in general, we agreed! So we will be hanging out that afternoon in Malibu (can't think where else I'd rather be on a Saturday afternoon!) and playing a few acoustic jams. I am sure a friend or two will show up and jam as well - thats kinda what we do!!

In other Camp Freddy news, after nearly five years of doing the radio show at Indie 103.1FM, we will be moving on and parting ways with the station. We all want to thank Indie for a great time, and personally I want to say that I have enjoyed doing the show for so many years. It's time for all concerned to change it up, move on and explore new pastures - so big up and massiv' respec' to all at INDIE - thanks for a good time folks. And stay tuned for further radio news - the Camp Freddy Radio Show will be back after these words from our sponsors!!!

And the Paramount show is this Saturday 27th September. Tickets are still available and the show is on the movie Lot at Paramount Studios on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles. We play for an hour around 10.30pm, but Dave Navarro and DJ Skribble are doing their thang (and its a beautiful thang too - you really need to go down and see this collaboration) around 9.00pm. I for one will be checking that shit out. I'll see you front and center. A couple more Camp Freddy shows are on the books for October, but they are private shows and unless I get told I can give you details, you'll have to be content with a few pics and a write up after the fact. I'm sure we'll get Wendy to document them. Oh yeah - and we finally have a FACEBOOK FAN PAGE - now I am not sure what that means cos I dont run it (but I will be checking it daily!), and don't have one myself.....but I am assured its lots of fun! So CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE BRAND NEW CAMP FREDDY FACEBOOK PROFILE.

Thats the Freddy news - for me, I have a morning of extremely valuable time with our friend Scott P today as he receives his treatment. I'm looking forward to three hours of undiluted time with him - no cellphones, laptops or business. Just friends hanging out and catching up. That guy is fighting the disease in a big way, and we are all very proud of him. And later, I'll be doing some more writing (doing a lot of that lately - I have been enjoying the whole process of creating characters and storylines and find its a great way for an addict like me to lose myself and turn the world off for a few hours) so all in all, a nice day ahead. But first, the cardio. Oh the cardio. Hate the cardio! Gotta go before I talk myself out of it.

Peace

Billy

No more Camp Freddy radio?? Was this past Saturday your last show? If not, when IS the last show??

Sad, sad news - I really enjoyed it every week...

But, can't wait to see what the next big thing is, so, maybe that will free up time to make it happen.

Let us all know when the last Camp Freddy radio show is - PLEASE!!

With no more CF radio we'll just have to resort to Camp Freddy PLAYING LIVE for two hours every Saturday in each one of our cities. ;-)

When I read these words:

"And stay tuned for further radio news - the Camp Freddy Radio Show will be back after these words from our sponsors!!!"

...it seems that Camp Freddy Radio is not actually finished forever but simply finishing being broadcast on Indie. So fingers crossed we can still hear it but on another station. I'm certainly hoping so. Listening to the podcast is a highlight of my week.

I hope another station (that also streams live ;-) picks you guys up really soon!!! It's the most entertaining 2 hours of radio! All those years listening live stream and being in the chatroom over at 6767 with the "family" when you guys used to pop in! When Dave would bring the "live cam" into the studio! LMAO! OH the memories...

I really suck at change.

Anyhoo you HAVE to catch the Skribble/Navarro gig. You'll enjoy it. Deena and I caught them last October in AC and then this May right before the Webster Hall show, Dave was there, Skribble was there, we were there but the club screwed up. :-(
I hope Scott P is doing better! I hope he's kicking this disease in it's ass!

As one of your 12 loyal listeners (come on we know there are a few more than that) either live or podcast, I'm really going to miss CFR and seriously hope there are bigger and better things for you in the future.

I was wondering how Scott P was doing. Will continue to keep him- and others who are sick or suffering in my prayers.

Billy, listened to the podcast in the good old UK. Gutted about the show! Loving your work interviewing Cookie. You got more cockney as the interview went on! Keep up the good work mate!

Really enjoyed the show last night. Wish the crowd had been a little less "too cool for school" but I guess thats what happens at a movie lot with a bunch of suits! ;)

All of us up front loved the hell out of it! Here are a few pictures I took to share with all of you who don't live in the area.

xoxo
