WEEK TWO - THE BIG ROCK SHOW!
I haven't felt this tired in a while! Four hours sleep after one of the craziest shows I have ever seen!! And I was right there in the middle of it all, playing my ass off with a bunch of musicians that I respect and love. Last nights Roxy Show (Week 2 of 5) was possibly one of the greatest 'vibe' gigs I have ever played. In that tiny club, on that small stage, we were joined by Chester Bennington, Slash, Duff, Tommy Lee, Billy Duffy, Jerry Cantrell, McQueen, Steve Jones and Paul Cook. And they were ALL on the stage at the same time for our traditional finale - Iggy Pop's I Wanna Be Your Dog!! Honestly, it was SO much fun for me, and from the noise the sold out Roxy was making, it was a lot of fun for everyone!! The full set will be over at Camp Freddy's site tomorrow (I dont have time today, cos its the MAP Awards) and I did get a ton of amazing video - so another 'clip/highlight' blog from me at the weekend as well. Just know that these Camp Freddy shows are very special - that everyone turning up, jamming and being a part of the family just want to play great music and have a fun night of loud rock and roll. We thank them all!
Marku - No, the song the band is playing is called A THOUSAND TIMES and its a Circus Diablo song that was an extra track on the Japanese release of the album (and I think certain stores here got the extra tracks as well - not sure)
Justin - Actually yes we have thought of the Camp Freddy Festival. One of these days someone will come to us with the logistics and we'll do it! And BK (and everyone else) - you have to understand that we have ten ideas a day! But making them real is a lot different. The 5 Cities Tour is still something we would like to do. In fact, JUST for you, I'll talk to the agent about it and see what it would involve. Don't hold your breath, though!!
Paul - we actually have never had a serious offer from the UK. A few enquiries, but nothing solid. I don't think we have actively looked into it. When the offer comes, we'll deal with it!!
So today we take our good selves down to the Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood, to perform at an Awards Show that is honoring Slash and Alice Cooper. We are happy to be able to take part, and I am looking forward to our five song set. Dave is in Vegas, so Slash is playing all five songs with us, and we will be joined by Steven Tyler, Chester, Billy Duffy, Jerry Cantrell, Duff McKagan, Robin Zander and Wayne Kramer. Yep - more Rock N Roll extravaganzas, and all in the name of sober musicians. I will give you a full rundown of the show when I finally recover from these couple of days. I'm thinking (and hoping!) that I will sleep all day tomorrow and wake up in time for Camp Freddy Radio with Dave on Saturday. Tune in and I'll see you there.
Billy

I was rocking out in awe last night and all I could think to myself was that I had died and gone to Rock N Roll Heaven.
Wow.

Thanx for another great show Billy!
It's my birthday tomorrow & the gig was a surprize (I wasn't able to go until plans changed at the last minute) early start to a fun weekend : )
You all looked like you were having a blast : )
Did TLee really break the drums?
FYI - we DO NOT know the nutter who pushed her way to the front only to ignore the band & put her makeup on! OMG!
She made no friends last nite I can tell you!!

...Yeah... Kim was 'accidentally' spilling her drink on that lady's head. Oopsie, huh.

Dream line up for that show, thanks Billy! Wonder what's in store for us next week!
The make-up thing was weird. Quickly Fixing liptick is one thing but that was like 15 minutes of Make-upping, powdering, fanning and the guys are only like a foot away!! Donovan looked ike he was getting a kick out of it also.

Cool. Thanks :) We need some of the LA flavor here on the other coast. So do the deal quickly please.
Based on the success and positive response from just these shows alone... I feel anything is possible for CF. And you guys should get whatever you want. CF is legendary!
Going to scour the web for videos now from last night.
Xx

Here is my review of the show:
If you looked up Rock Show in the dictionary Camp Freddy would be the only definition! These guys are working their butts off at these shows. I have never seen a group of SUCH talented musicians playing together in such a rhythm that takes you to a completely different place. I think the best part is that they are having a blast which makes you as a witness to it all have more of a blast. The ENERGY at these shows is like NOTHING I have ever seen before.
Don't play too many shows guys, because the energy and passion and joy you are bringing to the stage makes the show LEGENDARY and I would hate to see that fade into the normal rock show where you have been on the road playing the same set for months and are just burnt out trying to get through it.
Dave Navarro- This guy rips it up on stage and seems to mesmerize all the ladies in the house. The banter between Dave and Billy between songs makes you feel like you are just hanging with your buddies jamming out.
Billy Morrison- The pure rock n roll energy exuding from this man is electrifying. He is atalented vocalist and shreds on the guitar as if he was born and bred to Rock N Roll.
Chris Chaney- This dude is an amazing bassist, very clear and seems to be always on the mark.
Donovan Leitch- Great vocalist, he rocks the house. His stage presence and energy prove he is truly a "Rock N ROll Star" as the song goes.
Matt Sorum- Need I say more- its Matt Sorum
Mark McGrath- I never knew that this guy could rock but WHOA he can rock. You can tell he LOVES the songs he's doing and that makes it all the more better. My favorite part however is seeing the huge smile on his face from the sidelines as he sits to witness these amazing rock legends jam out.
Darling Stillettos- These chicks are hot and their soundtrack is rockin', and they are good dancers- let's just work on the choreography a bit.
If anybody has not been to Camp Freddy yet, there are three shows left I already have my tickets. We are hooked and spreading the word.

Speaking of make-up lady, per Monica, the chick took OFF her makeup as soon as the curtain went down.
oooeeeooo
Holy chit!

I hope next week is as good a show as last nights. If it gets any better I just may have to stow away in a gear box and run away with the band.
Any info for the 22nd yet?

Quick story:
We met three Austrian guys at the Rainbow before the show, and when G'nR came on they were pumped. My friend and I smiled at each other and said to them "Come with us." Brought them over to The Roxy and they shit themselves when Slash walked onstage in full high top hat regalia and started cranking out "It's so Easy" about 6 feet in front of them. Best line of the night: One of the guys looks around and realizes he's in a room the size of his apartment with a rock 'n roll all-star team playing their favorites and says, "This is awesome and no one's here....if this happened in Austria, we need to move it to a football stadium in Germany."
