HOLIDAY MEDICATION!
There are a few major differences between healthcare here in the US and back home in the UK. One of those would be the fact that on a holiday weekend, no british doctor is leaving his warm fireside playing monopoly with his family, to open up his office for some tattooed 'erbert with a dose of the flu! Here in LA - completely different story!! Having interrupted my Dr's weekend twice!! (sorry Dr S - won't happen again!!) I am now feeling a lot better and by the morning will actually feel human again. Just in time to fly across the country, play NYC, and fly straight back again to play the last LA show!! So I figured that seeing as I will be pretty much out of 'blogging' distance till Friday, I should post a little something now before we leave. So here goes....
It seems crazy but we only have one Freddy show left here in Los Angeles. This thursday at The Roxy. I believe that there might be A FEW tickets getting released on the night at the box office, but all advance tickets have now sold out. So I suppose its a case of 'keep your fingers crossed' and show up on Thursday. I can promise a night not to be missed - I just did the set list and it blows my mind just reading it back!! As long as we all actually remember how the songs go, we'll be golden!! HAHA!! Its been so much fun and I want to thank all the members of Camp Freddy, everyone at The Roxy, all our friends who came down to jam, and all you lot who showed up and made the place a hot, sweaty, sticky place to be!
Before that, as I said, we are jumping on a plane to go do The Hilfiger Sessions at Webster Hall on Wednesday night. Its a private affair I'm afraid, so no tickets available. But providing I feel ok, I love going to NYC - especially at this time of year. Although this trip, I'll see next to nothing. But I will be back soon afterwards for "The Perfect Age" movie shoot, so plenty of East Coast vibes coming up for me. The show on Wednesday will actually be two shows in one - we are doing a small acoustic set earlier in the evening, and then the full rock/electric set later on. Interesting - and we have some New York friends coming out to join in the fun. I just spent an hour on I-Chat with Dave (who is already in New York) running through songs on the video camera!! Oh yes - we are definately a high tech band - we rehearse using web cams!!
I also have a few other bits and pieces scattered around for me to do - beginning a couple more tracks in The Sunset Marquis studio - Billy Morrison Solo tracks - at some point, and revisiting the ones I did with Patrick one more time (just got a few subtle tweaks to do on them) as well as helping Patrick work on a song or two of his own (he's calling it producing, but I'm calling it 'getting in the way with my own opinions!!'). We have a Freddy photoshoot for a magazine at the weekend, and of course, The Sex Pistols play in Las Vegas soon - whaddya think I'm not heading out there??? So still a full plate for Morrison for the next few weeks at least. I gotta run now, and pack a bag or six, but take it easy and see you all soon I hope.
Peace
Billy

The only reason he did leave his fire is because he gets paid to by your health insurance. As much as it gets critisized the NHS is better than the US health service any day of the week.
The weather is utter shit at the moment here though!!

Last Roxy show Rocked. Unbeleivable. Awesome. Remarkable and all those other adjectives that mean extremely positive things.
I hope that you will do it again next year. I am still in awe of the last 5 weeks...

Glad you all had a great time Emily - I'm sure you rawked out for all of us!
Nice to have met you guys - Billy, you attract the nicest fans!
Sorry to hear you didn't make it Kate :(
I was being a parent to a child with a scratched cornea from being hit with a ball so not having a ticket turned out ok for me - the young'un is fine, just needed some love last nite.
Funny how life sometimes works out even when you think it's not.
Hoep you're feeling better Billy - can you relax a little now it's over?

Emily,
Any details from the show?
Who showed up?
Posted by: Digger at May 30, 2008 09:59 AM
KATE!!!! Not sure what else to say about that.
I want a shirt that says I completed the Camp Freddy Marathon: 5 weeks, 5 shows, High 5.

Digger: Who didn't show up would be a better question. This is the best I can do, here is my blog from myspace.(I left off Billy Duffy and Jerry Cantrell since they have rocked with us the whole time!):
Camp Freddy wrapped up their 5 show Residency at the Roxy last night and what a way to wrap it up! It would be nice If I could remember the long list of special guests, but there were so many it all seems very blurry now...
Maybe I would remember the special guests but my jaw dropped when Robby Krieger from the Doors walked out onto that stage! And Billy Idol. Billy Idol. Billy Idol. (Can you tell I am a fan?)
Juliette Lewis was there and I knew she was in a band but had never seen her perform. She really rocked Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.
The music was rocking the house as usual. It is hard because I go from rocking out to be in complete awe from moment to moment.
The stage presence of Camp Freddy is a Rock N Roll Force to be reckoned with. Billy, Matt, Donovan, Chris and Dave as a group are completely awesome and fun to watch. Then they start bringing out guest after guest and you get lost in the moment.
I love live music. And Camp Freddy is live rock n roll at it's finest.
Other guests included the singer from 311, the singer from train, the drummer from 9 inch nails, the vocalist from static x, uhhhh (I am sorry I need to catch up with the newer musicians I am so stuck in the past musically), Whoever was drumming for Billy Idol was AWESOME but I don't know who it was, if anyone does let me know... There was a lot of others and they were ALL talented.
Oh, and some dude from Lost came on and played guitar that was cool for the Lost fans in the house.
Life After Mary (check them out on myspace) opened tonight and by far was the best of the openers. A sound like AC/DC Velvet Revolver and STP all wrapped into one. They had the crowd going more then any band that has opened.
Wickhead and Drive A have my vote for a tie for second. Wickhead rocked and I loved that their lyrics were positive. Drive A kids were young but somebody better snatch those mini rockers up before Disney does and ruins them for life.
Melotia and Moving Picture Show played well.

He was dark skinned with dark curly hair. I am really sorry that I am not up with current pop culture. Especially that I did not know some of the guys although they were talented. Someone said Niki Six was there and I left Steve Stevens off the list- he played amazingly. This whole CF Experience has given me an appreciation for some of the newer musicians. (Funny and by newer I mean anyone after 1993 hahahahahahaha)
Oh yeah song list:
Hello There
Song Two
White Man
Rock and Roll all nite
Ain't talking bout love
Dirty Deeds Done dirt cheap
LA Woman
Dancing with Myself
Rebel Yell
Wanna be your dog
(I may be missing one or two)
