THE ANSWER IS YES.
Saw this online today - and the answer is simple. YES!! HAHAHA!!
Could This Be the Best Radio Station in the U.S.?
According to Rolling Stone Magazine, yes. I'm talking about Indie 103.1/Los Angeles, an alternative rock station which launched in 2003. This year Rolling Stone named it "Best Radio Station". So, what makes this particular radio station so good?
A press release sums it up by touting its lineup including shows like: "...Jonesy’s Jukebox hosted by the Sex Pistols’ Steve Jones, Harmony in My Head with Henry Rollins, Camp Freddy Radio with Dave Navarro and Billy Morrison, Community Service hosted by The Crystal Method (Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland) and Feel My Heat hosted by actor Danny Masterson and Brent Bolthouse. Each DJ creates their own playlists..."
Program Director, Max Tolkoff, says, "We’ve carved out a unique and rare niche for ourselves catering to radio listeners that lacked a true alternative rock station in the market."
Quite simply, Indie 103.1FM IS the best radio station. Not cos I'm on it....but because they fucking RULE!!! I have no headspace to throw up a decent blog tonight - I am fucked after all the rehearsing/logistics/madness. Can't wait for tomorrow when it officially becomes 'Gig Day'. You see, on a 'Gig Day', I allow myself to turn the phone OFF, and leave it OFF, so that all the people that wait until the day of a show to ask if they can get on the guest list get a polite but firm message saying...."leave yer name and number and I'll get back to you. Tomorrow.!!!!!" Back after the first show with video, a full round up, and more info about everything else thats going on. What I WILL say is - hold on to your hats, New York - MAY 28th. And thank God you GAIN time when you fly from East Coast to West Coast!! See ya.

WEEKEND OF HORRORS
Thought I would drop by briefly tonight and tell you that Fangoria (Day One) was a lot of fun! Now I know what a panel is, and what to do on one!! Basically its a huge room with four chairs on a stage at one end, and a few journo's, photographers and interested parties hanging out in the other bit of the room. Then they show clips from the movie, you file up on to the stage, tell everyone how happy you are with the film, and leave again!! Easy. After that whole thing, I hung out with the directors, producers, writers and cast of both Evilution and Basement Jack, signed a few posters and talked about the third movie in the trilogy, "The Necropolitan" - this will begin production later in the year, and from what I gather, I play some kind of 'Angel'.....could be a dark one, or a fallen one, or a trapped one, .......who knows! With these guys, its bound to be fun, freaky and there will be LOADS of blood involved!! The pic shows me hanging with Eric (actor and producer) at the booth with posters for all three movies behind us.
Having been down there again today, I wanted to update this post. There are TONS of crazy horror fans roaming the streets of downtown LA!! Look at this guy in the orange suit. He was just one of MANY!! I have no idea who he is, or what movie he was promoting - he just wandered by and stood there!!! SO weird! It was a ton of fun. And I am absolutely proud to say that the screening of Basement Jack was a cast iron success. I am so humbled to have been asked to be in the movie and the whole cast and crew did a fantastic job. The movie has a look and feel to it that totally belies it's low budget indie roots. Michael has just made the whole thing so polished, so high end looking, the cast are wonderful, and of course, its all down to a great story and great screenplay, courtesy of Mr Brian Patrick O'Toole. I cannot wait to get started on The Necropolitan later in the year.
Also, I can tell you that I am producing and acting in a movie called A Necessary Evil. Yep - I am taking it one step further, and as you can see by the poster I am standing next to, we really do have a script, a title and ....we are gonna make the movie! Again, just like most everything else I do, I don't have much of a clue what Producers actually DO....but I'll figure it out as we go along. I am just happy to be involved in this one, as the script is fucking awesome! More on A.N.E. as it comes. For now, I am gonna pick up a few posters of Evilution and Basement Jack when I go back down there tomorrow and give em away on CFR soon. I'll see if we can get them signed by some of the cast and crew.
Thats it from me - exhausted by all this gratuitous blood letting. Wanted to throw up a picture of Mick Jones and Tony James from Carbon:Silicon that was taken on my IPhone at the NME Awards during the week. Not the greatest picture, but definately a cool night out. Mick and Tony happen to have been in two of the most revered Punk bands ever - The Clash and Generation X.... so respect is due. Thanks to Paul, yesterdays Podcast is now up as usual - the miracles of "Modern Technology" enabled Dave to be in New York, me to be running around with monsters, and both of us to still be providing All New CFR on Indie 1031. Thanks for staying up ridiculously late and getting it for everyone Paul. Today, I have to stay in front of my computer and learn 24 new Camp Freddy covers in time for tomorrows rehearsals. No chance whatsoever of doing that, but I'm gonna give it a go anyway. See ya.

Don't bother asking me if I got any Hip Hop....the answer is YES, I got PLENTY of cool Hip Hop, but I'm saving it for the ride home in my car!! Either way, the uber-hot Terri Nunn and her band Berlin are headlining the evening and yer man Lukas (from Rockstar Supernova) is also playing, so it seems like a fun night to me. Back soon.

MORRISON'S DEALING AGAIN!!
Time for an update!! And another V-Blog as well. Just the remnants of all that studio footage we shot a couple of weeks ago when Patrick and I were recording the solo EP material. Plus some random footage from the Venice Rocks Diablo show we did in January as a three piece. I was trawling through an old drive, came across it, and liked it - so here it is! Of course, I expect a ton of blogging very soon as we enter into Camp Freddy’s month at The Roxy. First show is only a couple of weeks away now! But it’s been business as usual over here at Chez Morrison, so I figured I would check in with everyone and let you all know whats been happening. STOP PRESS: Check out the STORE page on this site - I have made the Circus Diablo "Made In Hell" tees available. Makes a perfect Xmas gift - You know you want one!!!
The Stimulator release was better than I could have hoped for ….. nearly ALL the Limited Edition packages sold (thank you to everyone who bought one, and then emailed me to tell me they loved the record! There are just FOUR packages left, so that’s pretty much it now. Numbers 42, 43, 44, and 45. If you want one of these packages, just get in contact with me either by emailing me directly or joining as a friend on www.myspace.com/BillyMorrisonMusic) and I am left with just a few hard copy CD’s which can be bought by clicking the BUY NOW button on the left. The tee shirts are the same deal – again, I have a couple left, so if you want one, let me know. What’s cool about this limited, small number thing, is that the album is available on I-Tunes anyway, so each release can feature it’s own tee shirt, print, collectors item etc. I’m really digging the whole plan!!
The movie world is also calling me again!! The whole Fangoria Convention weekend is approaching, (April 25th, 26th and 27th) and I will be attending all weekend in support of my two movies – “Evilution” and “Basement Jack”. And I have also landed a role in another movie that shoots in New Jersey in June. The movie is called “The Perfect Age Of Rock And Roll”, it is being directed by Scott D Rosenbaum (who made the amazing short film, CODA, with Jasin Cadic and David Johansen of the New York Dolls), and executive producer is Spike Lee. And I play …..yep…..a fucking DRUG DEALER!! HAHAHA!! All those years of excessive Class A narcotic consumption have left me perfectly poised to take over the movie business as the number one choice for drug dealer!! Seriously, I am totally excited and humbled to be a part of this movie, and even more excited to drive the 1970 Hemi Plymouth Roadrunner that is my ride in the film! So immediately after the last Freddy show at The Roxy, I will be on the Big Iron Bird to the East Coast for a spot of Thespian Action. Get yer minds outta the gutter!!
This weeks Camp Freddy Radio is promising to be a ridiculous epic of a show…..and I am being left to cope all by my lonesome self!! I have no less than FOUR different lots of guests coming on the show on Saturday!! Yep – you read that correctly. Four different lots of guests. I will be a nervous wreck by the end of it all. Starting the show, I will be joined by a couple of lovely ladies from AdultCon, who are currently on a promotional road trip. If you don’t know what AdultCon is, Google It, Google It, Google It!! Then I have jeff from Velvet Angels footwear joing me for a while – Velvet Angels are helping Camp Freddy with the Roxy shows, so it’s only fair that Jeff comes on the show to tell us a bit about his company. Then, at around 7pm, Matt Sorum will be bringing in his latest conquests, Bloody Social! They are a band that Matt is currently producing, with a lead singer that is another one of those triple threats…..ridiculously good looking, talented and young!! And then finally, I have The Bangkok 5 coming down to talk to us about their upcoming new album and tour.
So that’s it – a fun filled, thrill packed ride of a radio show. I shall be booking two weeks in the Bahamas immediately following that lot!! Big up to Edwin from Holland who has been doing some of the recent Flash work thats been cropping up - thanks mate - love what you are doing. And I will be back soon with more of the same.
See ya.

CAMP FREDDY/SORUM:NOCE

So I only got two things to say tonight. One is CAMP FREDDY live at The Roxy every Thursday in May. Can't tell you how excited I am to get back into Freddy mode .... EVERY week! We have some great guests lined up, a whole bunch of new songs and I think its gonna be a blast.
And the other thing is SORUM/NOCE. Max Noce (Lords Clothing) and Matt Sorum (we all know who he is!) have finally opened their clothing store on Melrose Ave in LA. Its right opposite the uber trendy Urth Cafe, so you can grab an overpriced latte before wandering across the street and entering Matt's world. Those guys have done the store out SO fucking cool - its all deep rich reds, hardwood, a bar, flat panel television......and the absolute best in rock and roll suits, leathers, jackets and accessories. Every one of you know that I am a bit of a fashion snob, and more than a little fussy in certain areas!! Well, the attention to detail, the fabrics and the designs are completely up my strasse!
The pics are taken in the store, and I am sporting my newly purchased leather hoodie. Yep - a fucking LEATHER hoodie!! Its beautiful, and seeing as Matt and Max are bro's, I am gonna be spinning at the official opening night party in May. Not sure if I can give out the exact date, cos the store is not huge, and we don't want half of Hollywood descending on the place. Or maybe they do.....either way, I'll be DJ'ing and I gotta say - HUGE congrats to both of them for the killer clobber!!
Peace

KING MOB MUSIC
What a great few days its been - and I wanna start off by thanking everyone who pre-ordered the Limited Edition packages. I was actually quite shocked when EVERYONE apart from one person actually paid! Normally with these things, people email away with abandon, ordering stuff....but when it comes to parting with hard earned cash, its a different story. Well, you guys all did your thing, and your packages will be in the mail by the end of the week. I am just awaiting delivery of the tees and then my team of worker elves will be able to finish the packing and get them all into the wonderful US Postal System. You all need to know that by ACTUALLY BUYING product from an independent artist, you have enabled the artist to continue making music. Its that simple. The reality is that there are now just six packages left, and then that very first King Mob Music product will be sold out!! Not bad for a first venture. The hard copy CD is still available by clicking the BUY NOW button on this page. STOP PRESS: Just got this great pic from my tee shirt guys - they are finishing up the tees for the packages tonight, so all packages will go out tomorrow. They actually just sent me this killer pic below of the artwork on the machine - this is the way they actually print tees. Can't WAIT to see the finished item later!!
The Camp Freddy emails are flying back and forth now as the first show at The Roxy is just a few weeks away. Its exciting stuff and we are actually gonna hit a rehearsal room for these shows. UNHEARD OF!! But we are planning a bunch of different songs this time out, so we figured it would be fun to get together as a band before the residency starts and actually play those songs a few times together. I'll take a camera and get some V-Blog footage, although I've still got a bunch to edit from the studios I was recording in a week or so ago! I am just finding it so hard to fit it all in.
Fangoria (the horror convention) is coming up - the weekend of April 25th I believe, and I will be appearing on a couple of panels down there to talk about two of the movies I did - Evilution, and Basement Jack - so if you are a horror fan, and are in the LA area, you should CLICK HERE TO GET THE FANGORIA INFO.. Its a three day event at the LA Convention Center and I will be appearing on the panel at 3.30pm on FRIDAY 25th APRIL. The world premier of Basement Jack will be at 6.00pm on Saturday 26th. And Evilution screens the last day, Sunday, at 2.00pm. Trust me, you should swing by if possible - these movies are pure genius horror films. I am proud to be in both of them.
And I am also back in action at MODERN GUITARS - CLICK HERE TO READ THE EXCLUSIVE BLOG ENTRIES AT MODERNGUITARS.COM. And that, as they say, is that. I got nothing else right now - a day of press for Stimulator is ahead of me, and a trip to the gym to sweat for an hour or so! And the picture has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING!! Its just a nice one of me and my beautiful wife at a wedding we went to in Santa Barbara the other day. Why? Cos I can!!
Adios.

PREMATURE STIMULATION!
It happens to the best of us. A little premature, but I don't care. The STIMULATOR album is now live on I-Tunes everywhere. And I am very happy to see it finally become available in its entirety. The limited edition packages have been a great idea, and have almost all gone now. I have about eight left, so if you are a collector, make sure you visit www.myspace.com/billymorrisonmusic and follow the instructions. If you are one of those who have already paid, the packages are being mailed out this week. The signed and numbered package (with tee and print) is $50. The rest of you can either purchase a hard copy, signed CD for $20 (until they all run out) or the standard ITunes $9.99 digital download. I gotta say a huge thank you to Terry Warville and Jason Bowld, who both played their asses off on that record, and who both gave me permission to get the album out this year. It was fun playing with those guys in the band, Stimulator, and I hope that they are as pleased as I am that we finally got our songs out there. More from me in a day or so.....(and many thanks to Edwin for the Flash File!!)
Peace
Billy
