TUESDAY TALK
It's been pretty weird just coming back from the Ozzfest like that ... I mean, we really were hanging on each day, hoping we would get through to another show, and waiting to see what the news from LA was, regarding babies and family. We scraped through to the absolute limit, but at the end of the day, family comes first, and Brett needed to get back sharpish, to be with Abby in her final days before giving birth. Ricky too has a heavily pregnant wife, so the decision to stop after four weeks was fully supported all around. If you are upset that you don't get to see the band right now, I understand. But I know you are all adult enough to appreciate why we came back, and to stand by our reasons - after all, this is a family on here too, so I know you all get it. Trust me, we were having so much fun out there - we are all upset. But the circumstances of life sometimes prevent us from doing what we love to do.
Camp Freddy at the House Of Blues was just off the hook. The set list and guests are listed over at www.campfreddy.net. I had a blast - I think my favorite moments were doing All Right Now (with Vivian Campbell and Shooter Jennings) and watching Macy Gray absolutely KILL Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes! A good fun evening all around, and here's looking forward to more Freddy activity in the future.
So whats in my immediate future? Well the Circus Diablo video for Loaded is now being edited. We have seen a rough cut and it looks SO good! We are tweaking that with the director and editor, so priority is to get that finished and out there. I also know we will be looking at dates for later in the year (and yes, we will be looking to get to the East Coast if at all possible). I would also love to get to the UK, so we will be talking with Koch about the UK release and see if we can work something out there. I have another movie to shoot as well!! I have landed the role of Detective Mickael Beck in a movie called ‘Basement Jack’ that shoots in September. As regular readers will know, I really do love the movie experience, and I am blown away that this will be my SECOND movie this year!! I will find about Evilution soon, and let you know when and where you’ll get to see it.
Finally, just in case you guys are starting to bitch and moan about stuff ... just please remember that this is cyberspace. I mean, its the web, for fucks sake. And remember that its also the Entertainment Business. That means it's not curing cancer or solving world hunger. Its rock and roll. I have to remember that every time I start to think things are not going my way. I need you lot to remember that too. And you guys have to play nice - I love all of you equally. Some questions? Ask away - its about time we did a Q+A session. HUGE thanks to Wendybird for the wonderful Camp Freddy pics. Till next time.
Billy

If you could have had one more thing on that bus to make the traveling easier/more comfortable/more fun what would it have been? Besides Jen!

Posted by: MR Paul at August 7, 2007 11:10 AM
I have to say I do appreciated the sweet gesture even if I wasn't home to hear it. ;-)
But I'm glad Beth and Creepy filled me in on the 411!
You of all people Billy understand that every once in a while you feel like a Hamster in a wheel just spinning and the cage is slowly closing in on you....but in the end, it will all turn out alright! And the world is back aligned!
True?
Anyhoo....so what would you say was the highlight of the tour for you??

Hello Billy!
Have you found time, in your busy schedule, to see the new Harry Potter movie? Your thoughts?
Posted by: Cori at August 7, 2007 04:41 PM
Awesome post Billy, very well put....and btw, missing Camp Freddy doing a White Stripes song with Macy actually breaks my heart a !bit! but how f**king cool 4 the lucky few! peace.
(*Jack wrote that song in response to all the haters back in Detroit that were not blowing up, like he and meg were...)

Family should always come first.

Billy, Congrats on the new movie role and awesome post. I am one of the lucky ones and, believe me, it meant more to me than you will know. To Brett & Ricky, more power to you for being there for the births of your children. I for one think that is the greatest gift of life. Ok, 2 down 1 to go, I HAVE to see a CF show now. Take care everyone. Niki

Wendybird, first off, is photography your professional line of work? If not, WHY???!! You take the best pics! How far & often will you or do you travel with the multitude of bands that these guys create? Just wondering. Niki
Posted by: Merc957 at August 7, 2007 06:32 PM
your approach to being creating a band as a fluid experience with members changing seems to have worked well for CD & CF. do you feel with so many musicians doing it this way will be "the next revolution" in the industry? or has it already started?

Niki,
Thank You, to answer your question, no, I still have a day job. Hopefully soon I can devote 100% of my time to some creative field. (I’m working on it) My dream job would be to go from tour to tour but until then I’m sticking to concerts in southern California, and an occasional road trip up North, to Nevada and parts of Arizona. I did shoot ozzfest a few years ago in Florida. Anyhow thanks for asking.
Billy, just wanted to say again, Thank You for everything. You are the bestest!!!

I am madly in love with Brett Scallions. His voice, his bass, his hair, his pecs and everything else I might have missed. He's married & having a kid. I can accept that. Groupie me

Billy, haven't been on the net lately due to family illness, and you said it when you said family comes first. Kudos to you guys for putting your wives and family first. Was so looking forward to seeing you on Aug 14 in Indianapolis.....hopefully soon.....I still reamain a loyal listener.
What was it like touring with Ozzy? Would you change anything about the way the tour went, if so what would it be?
Hopefully next round will be headliners "Circus Diablo"........lots of love to you all and good luck on the little diablos.

Wendybird, you know how everyone always says "dont quit your day job"? I am telling you to "QUIT your day job!!" It is really cool that you are following your dream and that you are working towards it. I envy you. Billy, I dont know if you are at liberty to say but, it is impossible, for me at least, to follow everyone's blogs, myspace's and everything else, have Brett & Ricky's wives had their babies yet and if so, what did they have? Boys, girls, what? I appreciate any info you provide. Thanks, NIKI
