ITS THAT CFR TIME AGAIN!
The weekend is here, I am refreshed and rejuvenated from a week in the desert, and I am back in full force tonight on Camp Freddy Radio - Indie 103.1FM in the Los Angeles area, or www.indie1031.fm on the world wide web. Ha ha!! It will be Donovan joining me tonight as Dave is attending a charity event, and we will be bringing you some Fresh Freddy Fun at 6pm tonight. I like that - Fresh Freddy Fun ..... hmmm, feeling frisky for some fun and frolics in a fresh freddy fashion. OK Billy - enough already!!
Lets see now - set your Tivos and DVR's (or even VCR's if you are in the stone age!) on Thursday 23rd at 2pm PST/5pm EST. ESPN2 are running the interview that we did for SpeedFreaks as Diablo. If memory serves me correctly, it was Ricky and myself that did the piece and we had a lot of fun with Kenny and his peeps. Tune in on Thursday and check it out.
Basement Jack, my next movie, starts shooting in three weeks, and I cant wait!! I have been to a couple of the pre production meetings and they have some sick ideas for this film. I get a sweet gun, get to shoot it up all over the place, and get to play someone other than a drug addict!! Yes!! I am a detective in this movie, with a decent wardrobe, a nice firearm and some great scenes. We will do some choice V-Blogs from the set, I'm sure.
Talking of cameras, I'll see if I can snag a quick V-Blog tonight at CFR - there will be cameras there shooting for a Camp Freddy thing, so lets take advantage of that, and answer some questions. If you read this before we go on air, post a question for either myself OR Donovan, and I will see if we can get a little interview going between us both. Post your questions today and I'll print em out at the radio station and film the answers in the breaks - and then get it up here tomorrow (if I have time).
Tomorrow is the final edit day for the Circus Diablo Loaded video - and I will be attending all day. It will probably be a long one, cos I know what I'm like once I get into a studio or a video editing bay!! I have seen an edit and it looks really fucking good!! So tomorrow is all about the final tweaks, and getting a few shots in that we all want to see - and hopefully by the end of the day, we will have the PG version and the MA version fully finished!! Yes!! I have been doing a bunch of Japanese and Australian press over the phone this week as well - lots of fun talking to those guys about the band. They seem excited by the album, so lets hope it does well overseas. That way we get to visit!!
OK - thats todays update - tune in tonight if you can. If you cant, then post a question for Dono or myself and we'll string a V-Blog together. Its about time - I know - I've been lazy!! Until next time....
Peace
Billy

Glad to have you back and that you & Jen enjoyed yourselves. A well deserved break for both, I am sure. Have a great weekend!

Billy -
With Diablo on hold for the time being due to the
little one's coming, how does a hiatus directly after album release affect the band moving forward?
Thank you,
Jay

This horrible incident happened at Ozzfest in Jersey. It's so sad Billy.

I love you. You're awesome. Take care.

I'll be at Jones Beach seeing AIC/VR tonight. Somehow we ending up snagging 6 rows from Slash...or Jerry. So I'll miss "frolicking fun with Freddy" tonight..
However a question:
What's going in with the "5 years/5 cities" CF thing you talked about? Is it still in the works?
NYC misses CF!
Yes, the PNC Ozzfest incident was terrible. One of the young men who died is related by marriage to a friend of mine :-( Unfortunately it culminated at Ozzfest but has been a on going problem at PNC shows. A recent Gwen Stefani concert had 15 people taken to area hospital for alcohol poisoning-13 of them were minors and the youngest was 12 years old.

Do have have a any particular song in mind that you really want to work up with Camp Freddy that has not been a part of your set list?

As someone whos trying their hand at radio (all DIY), do you have any advice on how to successfully attain a large audience?
Posted by: KB at August 18, 2007 03:23 PM
Robin & Sue, have a great time tonight! With or W/O alcohol. That is a sad issue with the PNC. Personal accountability is all I can say IMO.

by the way - love the CD - i rock it while i'm landscaping....

Billy,
man, peebs and I thought too late that we should have called in CFR with an on the street report live from VR/Alice last night! Oh my GOD what an awesome show!!! 6th row and it was amazing.
The movie sounds great, pretty soon you'll be tearing up the red carpet at all these premieres, don't forget to let us know if you'll be at them in the NY area too!
Have a great weekend, everyone.
Love,
Sue

Okay, so I missed the cut off for the CFR Q & A, but maybe you'll see this anyway.
How do you manage to keep the joy that making music (and all of your other creative projects) seems to give you? Music and acting are jobs for you, how do you keep your creativity flowing and remain positive?
Posted by: Carol Anne at August 19, 2007 11:46 AM
Um, hello? 2 KROQ...why are you pimping og Jane's Addiction with the copy, "with Perry Ferrell's Satellite Party.." huh? Dave's doing the Invasion gig now? On a seperate note, I have lived with my new housemates for 3 weeks and I know I'm in danger..

Billy, how did you think of the idea for Commerical Break on the cd? I LOVE the way you say precision decision.
Peebs, how in the world did you score 6th row seats for VR? they are comimg here and I can use advice.
Posted by: Terri at August 20, 2007 03:25 PM
Well Terri....
I had decent seats but late in the day before the show Sue called ticketbastard to see if any better seats were released....
And viola! They were!
Because online we were finding seats behind the ones she had so we decided to call and try! And we picked them up at "will call".
Posted by: Robin (peebs) at August 20, 2007 04:20 PM
Terri,
the trick is, if you reeeeally have to go to make sure you have tickets at all. But 99% of the time (I shouldn't give the secret away but hell, it's family here) they do a ticket drop close to the show, usually the day before or the day of you can get really good seats. It's taking a chance if you DEPEND on it because it doesn't always work but usually a portion of the tix are held back for corporate people, employees, bands, stuff like that and what's not gone they release, and sometimes I swear, I think they trickle out the good seats to keep you coming back because almost every time I can pull better seats after the original onsale. Like today, I pulled GA's for VR but it's 3 hrs away and we didn't want to drive so we didn't get them. This even works if they are previously "sold out", trust me, if you ever want tix to a sold out show keep trying because of the drops.
anyway, good luck!

Here's a video I took of CD @ The Roxy a few weeks ago:

I have a few other videos, but I'm having trouble uploading them, as they're too large. I'm getting a new computer in two weeks, so I shall be able to send them through soon!

Whoa Thanks Peebs and Sue!! Y'all are the best. I always have crappy seats and I buy them the day the go on sale. I was wondering why so many seats were unavailable. I had no idea they held some back like that. Naive I guess. Wish me luck! Thank you again!!

Ok so your pals from VR just did the K-Rock "Hostile take over" here in NYC. It was Dave, Duff and Scott. They played DJ's for 4 hours and played everything they wanted (some choice tunes I might add) BUT...they closed with a live acoustic version of "Last Fight". Now the sign of GREAT musicians is being able to do that song minus Slash. I'm assuming Dave took the lead and WOW. It was amazing! I hope someone podcast it!

awww shit!!! NEW SONG COMING!!! (according to the evilution website)
Some people involved with EVILUTION have stepped up to give us some of their musical talent as well. Circus Diablo's Billy Morrison has given us a great song called RUSH to use in the film. Vinni, a friend of actor Noel G, has delivered an amazing hip hop piece. Chuckie Steel, a famous DJ in the UK, has created two original pieces for the film. Star and Producer Eric Peter-Kaiser and actor Sam Skoryna, the lead of our next film BASEMENT JACK, have come up with a beautifully haunting piece for EVILUTION as well. Boy, there's so much talented crammed into our little film. We are very lucky indeed!
WEEEEEEEEEE!! can't wait to see billy in this movie and hear the new song!! Wo0t!!!

Ok, am I the only one here missing last weeks CFR? Robin and Sue, those were some great tips. I will have to try that next time. Hope all goes well with that. Billy, hope you are enjoying all of the pre production antics and interviews. I am sure here are awaiting anxiously to see you on the "big" screen! Quick question. Why does it seem that a cd and or song can be out for let's say a year or so & THEN it gets hot? For example, Nickelback's Rockstar. That song has been out for about 1 1/2 years and is just now getting decent radio play & video play? Just wondering. Take care all, NIKI

Question: the name Circus Diablo, was it at all inspired by Adam Ant's character in Spellcaster?
http://imdb.com/title/tt0096153/
Thanks,
