ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE.
Questions, questions, questions. Its all about you lot today. So let me see...Kate – Well, as far as Camp Freddy shows go, I love doing them and if we get a chance to play, we will. October would be great but we just don’t know when we get the offers. Of course with VR on the road right now, and Diablo back on the road later, it gets a little tough logistically but its been done before and will be done again.
Kate #2 – Film roles? I have been WAY lucky so far. I truly think its because I have just left all that in the lap of the Gods! I have auditioned a couple of times, but the roles I have landed have kinda just come my way.
Fred – Actually touring gets quite physical in a weird way. And yes, you do feel completely beaten up most days!! I stopped working out because I was getting cardio every day from being onstage, and tried doing Pilates about twice before giving up and succumbing to vegging out in front of the bus TV or a computer every day!! But now I am back in LA, I still haven’t kicked back into exercise mode yet!!
Beth – Great question!! Well, we were pretty well taken care of on that bus, and as long as I have an internet connection, I’m pretty much set. But if money was no object, I think a personal trainer would really be some nice icing on the cake when I’m out on the road. Other than that, I am self contained and perfectly comfortable on the tour bus.
Paul – the answer to this perennial question is the same as it always is, my friend!! Money!! Pure and simple – we would LOVE to bring Camp Freddy to the UK, but having seen the band yourself, can you start to add up the cost…..about 15 or 20 musicians at any given show (none of whom like traveling Coach!), and a crew of maybe six or seven. So you have flights, hotel and ground transport for about 26 people……and that’s before you even start thinking about PAYING the band!!! Trust me, when the right offer comes in, we will be there with bells on!!
Peebs – The highlight of the tour for me was the show we played in the torrential rain. I forget where it was now, but we rose to the challenge and the audience were right there with us. It was a fucking awesome show and being soaking wet from the moment we hit the stage just made it one of those “won’t forget this one in a hurry!” type gigs!
Cori – I have not yet seen the Harry Potter movie, although I have a few days in the desert coming up and that’s where I catch up on the films. I have done Transformers and The Bourne Ultimatum (both good flicks) and now need to catch up with Harry Potter, Die Hard and Pirates 3.
Mary – I feel that the fluid line up works for an artist like me – but probably not for everyone. I need to be involved in many different aspects of Entertainment to truly feel creatively fulfilled. Radio, TV, Writing, Performing, Movies, Web …… I cannot be that guy that has one band, with one line up, and that’s that. Everyone I work with has the same schedule (Hectic!!) so it seems natural to structure things in such a way that everything can exist together. And the fluid line up is just one of the tools we use. Plus, I get to play with many different musicians and that is nothing short of a blessing for me.
Jake – The Camp Freddy board shorts are in my closet!! ONeil Surfware made a limited run for band and crew….if you want some, bug them!!! But you ain’t getting mine!
Bratty – Touring with Ozzy is a blast. Big venues, great audiences…..plus watching The Prince Of Fucking Darkness every night doesn’t suck either!! I wouldn’t change a thing about the tour. Four amazing fun weeks. Can’t wait to see what the next tour is for Circus Diablo.
Merc – When the babies finally arrive, I will be the first to post a HUGE congrats from me and all the Family. For now, its all eyes on the bellies!!
Wow! I actually did what I set out to do this morning! Answer all your questions! So I better stop now before I waffle on too long. Thank you to everyone for being so understanding, kind and patient. We should have the Loaded video finished by next week, and we will have it up everywhere on the web then. So keep an eye out for it, and don’t forget to tune in to CFR this Saturday. I will be there, along with either Dave or Donovan (or even both! You never know!) and we will bring you more of the same madness! Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe, stay happy, and try doing something for someone else…..WITHOUT telling them!
Peace
Billy

Thanks for answering all the questions, always fun to learn new things.
So, you would want a personal trainer on the bus. My how times have changes. I wonder what your answer would have been had I asked that question a few years back? Ha!
Off to make my 'nice things to do' list.:-)

I co-wrote a dozen songs with Gerard from My Chemical Romance.
Most of them were about Christopher. Never did get over him. * Hee *
The new MCR CD comes out next year.
