THE DIABLO TV COMMERCIAL

THE TV COMMERCIAL FOR CIRCUS DIABLO.
Please note that this is a large file size. A high speed connection is preferred.

As you will see, I got the permission to put up the TV commercial. Came out looking ok - and it even has that same guy speaking in it! You know, the guy who does ...."In a world.....where darkness ruled the land...."!!! Hope you like it. For me, today will be filled with emails and phonecalls while I attempt to breathe the air in the desert. It has to be 110 degrees out here!!! Anyway, back to the previous post....

Attempting to keep up with everything is proving to be pointless!! As fast as I think about doing a little update on the sites, more reviews come in, more info changes, and I have decided to just keep throwing stuff up as I get to it. And before we get into Diablo stuff here, I wanted to put up this photo - pretty much says it all ...."Nothing gets in the way of a Venti Americano!!" ... these guys had pulled over in the middle of Downtown LA, and everyone was looking at the "Bomb Squad" truck, thinking .....'er, do we need to worry here?', and then the guy came out of Starbucks with a tray of coffee for his boys in the truck! I love it - snapped the pic on the new Blackberry Curve (yes I am loving that thing!!) and voila! Here it is.

OK - so we have a nice piece running HERE ON ROCKNWORLD.COM. Its a week long piece so check out the archives as well. I chatted to those guys about a few of the tracks on the record and what they are all about. Makes some interesting reading. And I also want to point everyone over to the MYSPACE.COM/CIRCUSDIABLO SITE. We have the two new acoustic tracks up there, that Rob, Ricky and myself did over at Westwood One Radio Syndication. They came out sounding great so we threw em up on the player. Keep you all going till next week and the official release of the record.

We also heard this week that the Australian release date is July 14th. Thats good news - we now have Japan, Canada, the US, Europe and Australia. Loaded is still going strong out there, so keep the requests coming - we are looking at video treatments and ideas for the song and plan to shoot the video very soon. Probably when we roll back into town briefly for The Roxy show and the Devore Ozzfest show. And I have just seen the television commercial (yep, you read that right .... TV COMMERCIAL for Diablo!!!) they have done for us!! Its really cool and I am asking if we are allowed to post a quicktime of it up here for you all to see. Its for MTV2 and Fuse and those kinds of stations so keep an eye out in case they tell me its not for the web right now. I'll get an answer in the next day or so.

You know what .... its Friday night and I can't bring myself to trawl through any more of these emails. There are TONS of them, telling us where the next review is, what markets have added the band etc. Its all great but I am exhausted. No CFR tomorrow so I am taking advantage of the weekend off and getting outta Dodge. Lets do some Q+A next time, so hit me with your best shot.
Have a great weekend.

Peace

Billy

Billy,

With all things Diablo full steam ahead, "LOADED" getting tons of airplay and the record getting absolutely stellar reviews, how much confidence does this give you going into the tour? More importantly, how does this momentum build the buzz and put the band in a position to take this thing to the next level?

Thanks mate,
Jay

Billy,

Just one question,

off course i don´t know if you really know this i can imagen you don´t so if you dont know never mind and skip the question.

Q: does the new CD turn up on I tunes "Spain"?

Why i ask:
Velvet revolver EP was not on it.. the problem is that i dont have a stereo i use the PC, at this moment i have a EP of VR and i cant lissen to it... but i bought it anyway thats what fans do right!? i will do the same for CD off course but i would be nice to have it in my i pot someday :-D

PS: thinking of a Camp Freddy fan page i did not get a hole lot of reaction on the CD fan page... and sins Camp Freddy does not have so many action going on i can do it by myself. if there is somebody who still like to help go to the CD page on the forum and leave me a PM.

We had the bomb squad come once. A supicious package was left in the lobby of the Health center I worked at (WOMEN'S Health Center...a lot of crazies want to bomb those places).
Of course it was January and freezing out and we were left to stand a block a way in the cold.
Turned out to be nothing thank goodness. But it was a hoot watching them work that "R2D2" like robot thing.
The blackberry curve takes a decent picture!

Q-what are you guys putting on your Ozzfest rider?

high billy....i got a question for ya......who's the gorgeous model on the diablo album cover?

Posted by: UC13 at June 30, 2007 05:40 AM

And the days ticked down to Circus Diablo release day... yesssssssssssssssssssss!

July is going to be unbelievable. Love the bomb squad pic. I wonder if they get a kick out of giving people a heart attack whenever they pull up and park. Seems harsher now considering what's just transpired in London.

Then there was a ruckus over in central London. The tennis people in Wimbledon just stepped up security. And Wills & Harry are having a concert for their mum, on Canada Day. Hee... There was a CBC special featuring them last night but it was on too late.
I used to play guitar for 5 or 10 minutes before I got bored. I've been trying to practice bass for an hour a day while listening to Nights with Alice Cooper. Today the fingers got really sore. It never happened before. Then I wondered...does it happen to Geddy Lee? Then I thought, probably not because he's a professional... and a man. He probably has calluses on all his fingers. Things that make you go Hmmmmmm.
P.S. There's lots of music blokes who google themselves all the time. And you thought I was self absorbed...

I love the clip Billy. Thanks for posting.

Posted by: Opeth at June 30, 2007 11:39 AM

I haven't seen it on TV here. Maybe it's on MTV Canada or MM.
Billy Bob, I have a new friend named Jennifer Good. She's really famous and all that. Yay!

Posted by: Francesca (Sonic Rage) at June 30, 2007 12:02 PM

awesome.

I'll just site with fuse on all day just so I can see it on TV!

I wonder what that voice over guy looks like. I bet he's like 5' 11" and 98lbs soaking wet...but has that commanding voice.

Posted by: Robin (peebs) at June 30, 2007 12:21 PM

Billy, that's great news! I'm glad everything is coming together, even if it is in a whirlwind! I can't wait to see ya again!

Posted by: Abby at June 30, 2007 12:41 PM

Wow, not checked on your site in ages. I just dropped off for a long, long time, dealing with various things.

But it's excellent to see you doing so well these days Billy. If you're ever back in London, it's a pint and a pack of B&H on me.

Kim,
England.

Robin,
You do not know how bad I wish I lived closer!!! I would love to attend. Did you guys set that up? If so that is pretty cool of you! I plan on leaving work early tomorrw to get the CD!!! I actually lost track of days & went in today to get it. Obviously I left bummed!! Oh, the excitement for tomorrow though. Billy, I hate to pester you with this shit but, I cannot get a hold of The Blue Goat to see about tixs. Worse comes to worse I will just show up, do you have any idea of what time you play? Thanks & everyone take care! Niki

Posted by: Merc957 at July 2, 2007 01:01 PM

Yep, we set it all up. We're MASTER planners ;-)

all you have to do is secure a location to hold it, contact the record company to get the stuff to give-a-way and then hustle up the people to attend!
I like to have a drawing for a big prize. This time we are having a drawing for 2 free tickets to the Knitting Factory show 8/19.
People like free stuff.

We did this for The Panic Channel back last August! It's lots of fun!

Anyone in the NY/NJ metro area, get your ass to Snitch, it's gonna be a blast!

Posted by: Sue at July 2, 2007 04:50 PM

Hi Billy- Congrats on all the excitement!

Question, Does your wife Jen ever come out with you on tour?

Have a great time, the roller coaster is about to begin:)Db

Posted by: Danni at July 2, 2007 09:21 PM

Looking forward to the album. Says available everywhere 3rd July. If that's so then the UK is being rubbish, Amazon says 2-4 weeks, HMV, Play don't have it listed, local record shops don't have it in. Or maybe sales exceeded demand. Damn, guess I'll have to iTunes it for now and get the cd later (no matter how technology moves on I still like the feel of a cd in my hands - the ultimate backup).

Happy Release Day!

Aaaaaaaaacckkk! Minemineminemineminemineminemine....

Posted by: Kate at July 3, 2007 08:02 AM

Robin & Company, Enjoy your gig tonight!! Wish I could be there, it sounds like a lot of fun. Sounds like you guys really have your shit together. I wouldnt know the first thing about organizing an event like that. I will be leaving work in about an hour to get the CD!!! Then I am off for the rest of the week!!! Lake of the Ozarks, here I come. My computer at home has been down for a couple of weeks so I wont be able to check in for a few days. I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July, be safe & enjoy the festivities but, most of all enjoy all that is Circus Diablo!!!! NIKI

Posted by: Merc957 at July 3, 2007 09:47 AM

No no hun, it's Monday the 9th!

Ok this is baaaaaaaaaaad news...I went to Best Buy at lunch near the Walt Whitman Mall in MELVILLE NY (yes I am calling them out) to purchase the CD (plus I wanted the double disc Libertad) and.....THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY YET. WTF???
I complained to the manager.
I'll hit FYE on the way home.
The upside was someone else had come in before me looking for it :-)

Posted by: Robin (Peebs) at July 3, 2007 11:36 AM

I went to my Best Buy in Mission Viejo Ca. Purchased a few Diablo and VR cd's. I moved a bunch of Diablo discs to the Special new release table where the VR discs were. Kinda made my own little marketing spot for them.

Billy, I thought the packaging was very eye catching even in the racks, good idea to include your names on the front.

Posted by: Beth at July 3, 2007 12:25 PM

Sue will report her experience at the record store...
It's GOOD!

Posted by: Robin (Peebs) at July 3, 2007 12:43 PM

Best Buy has them? Oh thank GOD!

Good good good good. I'll go out later tonight when it's not spontaneous combustion weather.

Posted by: Kate at July 3, 2007 04:32 PM

Sue reporting in from my little local record store, the mom & pop operation...

AWESOME! I got the LAST Diablo CD, and they sold 73 of them!!!!

Woo hoo!

Congrats, Billy!

Posted by: Sue at July 3, 2007 04:39 PM

SUE! 73 of them? Outstanding!!!!

Posted by: Kate at July 3, 2007 04:58 PM

Yup, 73!! I asked if he had it, because I didn't see it on display, and he said, "oh, sure, I have one left--we HAD 73, and only one left."

WHOO HOO

plus, he let me hang the NYC listening party poster on the front door of the store :)

gotta keep them in business, there are only 4 little indie record stores left on LI, I was told. :(

Posted by: Sue at July 3, 2007 05:29 PM

I also went to Best Buy (in Spokane, WA) to be disappointed that they didnt have any of the cd in yet. But was able to get one on the second store I went to and they only had one left after the one I bought.

Posted by: Christina at July 3, 2007 06:46 PM

Steve & Ryan are brothers. They went to visit their family in Montreal for the summer so the band is on hiatus. I still don't see the CD CD here. So I picked up 4 more Stephen King books instead. One is a book on writing. In its credits it mentions a song called "There is a Mountain" by Donovan Leitch. In a way, we are all connected to each other, even if it's not by blood. News events far away from us still affect us indirectly. The gun violence in St Louis affects me because it affects my half-sister's family who lives there. The hurricanes near Athens, Georgia affect me because mum's sister and her husband are from there. (REM too. Yay.) Happy 4th of July to my relatives in America and the Circus.

Posted by: Francesca Rose at July 3, 2007 06:51 PM

Billy, the CD must be selling like hotcakes because it took 3 FYE stores in Philadelphia and NJ plus 20+ miles of driving to get my copy.

I watched the commercial on this site and decided that I wanted the CD with the 2 additional songs and so I headed over to the FYE that is literally less than 3 miles from my office. They were sold out and the clerk was rude. We drove to the FYE in Audubon, NJ (I'm married to an extremely patient man - I don't drive) and they were sold out too. I called the FYE in Cherry Hill and they had 2 left. The clerk held a copy for me and in the hour it took to get there (it's the night before July 4 in NJ, everyone's trying to get to the shore or a fireworks display) they sold the remaining CD, so the store in Cherry Hill, NJ is also sold out of Circus Diablo CDs.

Congrats on a successful first day of sales!

~ Carol Anne

ARGH! 5 stores. 5 stores.

No CD.

Not a happy camper. What is with the frickin San Gabriel Valley!!!!

Posted by: Kate at July 3, 2007 07:25 PM

Best Buy SUX.
I wouldn't have gone there first if they weren't carrying the exclusive VR Libertad CD/DVD! Fye definately had it! Plus with the bonus tracks!

Carole Anne definately gets the prize for fan most traveled for the CD!! LOL

Posted by: Robin (peebs) at July 3, 2007 07:51 PM

Well, every damn music store in this area sucks. I did get Matt's CD, but I was full on intent on getting Billy's.

Tomorrow IS another day....

Posted by: Kate at July 3, 2007 09:28 PM

Borders Costa Mesa had one in stock with a torn case & they said that's the only one they got! Yikes!

Best Buy Costa Mesa has 25 left.
I did a little redecorating of my own there so you will see CD no matter what level rack you look at ;) hehe

A couple of aquaintances have also purchased the CD after listening to the ecard...word of mouth via technology, gotta love it!
