LOADED IS ADDED AND TULSA SPEAKS!
Its a quick update this morning just to let you all know that LOADED, our first single, has just gone to radio, and we were in the Top 5 most added bands to Rock Radio last week. Thats absolutely great news and now we ask you to join in. If the local rock station is not playing Loaded, its time to call them and request it. The campaign begins now!!! We want this coming week to give us even more adds at radio. A huge Thank You to all the stations that added Circus Diablo on our first week out - trust me, we'll be invading your studios when we get out on the road!! And last night, we had a unanimous vote from the listeners of Tulsa's Rock Station, Z104.5 The Edge as we won an 'on air' cockfight. Loaded got every vote, so I wanted to say HORNS UP to all the rock fans in Tulsa - thank you for your support. We will be there soon!!!
A nice way to start the week, I would say. I am off to hit the gym now. The rest of the week is a ton of phoners, some shooting at the range with a friend of mine from the UK (that'll be fun - I haven't fired my guns in months) and trips to see Hostel 2 and Pirates. I will also begin thinking about this Roxy show on July 20th - we want to make it special, so we are working with Dave's SPREAD Entertainment and INDIE 103.1 on the gig. I'll meet with Todd and figure some stuff out. Don't forget - we have a tattooist from Mark Mahoneys' SHAMROCK SOCIAL CLUB at the show and we have two or three slots left for you guys to get tattooed! Email me if you wanna take one of those slots. After the last three weeks shooting Evilution, I am glad that this week seems a little less hectic. Although that can always change on a dime!! Last weeks Camp Freddy Radio is now up on the Podcasts page, and available for immediate download in I-Tunes if you subscribe to my page. Have a good day everyone. Back soon.

Billy,
I will definitely be calling 98.9 The Rock (KC) to request loaded!!!! I wasnt sure when they would be able to start playing it. If you have seen it, what do you think of the clip on 6767 of the girl thinking Dave had a British accent? That was very amusing this morning. Take care and I am so glad everything is going so well with you and all that are involved!!!! I got my brother to committ to go to the Salina KS show. I need to call about tix yet. Have a good one!! Let the count down to 07/03/07 begin!!! Now that the Sopranos are over I think Loaded will be my ringtone now!!! Niki

I love you Paul, honest. LOL
There were actually 2 Davids.
The 1st David was in high school (1st kiss).
The 2nd David was my fiance's best friend.
But forgetting about Christopher is harder than all the Davids and Pauls put together.
Maybe it would help if I got this rose tattoo removed...the one with his name on it.
They don't play Loaded on Vibe 98 or CJAY 92.
There's an explanation for that...

If it weren't for Canadian content rules on radio and television, then there would be more time available for other artists from across the continent. Canadian content guidelines comprise a major section of Canada's Broadcasting Act. The Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission has established policies to ensure that Canadian Content is implemented. These regulations govern:
1. creation and production of Canadian programs and music;
2. financial support by the broadcasting system for the creation of Canadian content;
3. how much Canadian content must be aired on radio and television;
4. ratio of Canadian and non-Canadian programming services distributed by Canadian cable companies, direct-to-home satellite services (DTH) and multipoint distribution systems (MDS);
5. Canadian ownership and control of the broadcasting system.
While I agree with promoting Canadian artists who have talent, I disagree with providing airtime to acts who are mediocre or inferior to international artists and would never make it on their own. We won't use any names here. The U.S. and England have no comparable legislation to promote American and British music. Why would they?
ONLY IN CANADA...

I've been wandering around the house all night
wondering what the hell to do
Yeah, I'm trying to concentrate but all I can think of is you
well the phone don't ring 'cause my friends ain't home
I'm tired of being all alone
Got the tv on 'cause the radio's playing
songs that remind me of you
Baby when you're gone, I realize I'm in love
days go on and on, and the nights just seem so long
Even food don't taste that good, drink ain't doing what it should
things just feel so wrong, baby when you're gone
I keep driving up and down these streets
trying to find somewhere to go
Yeah i'm looking for a familiar face, but there's no one I know
oh, this is torture, this is pain, it feels like I'm gonna go insane
I hope you're coming back real soon, 'cause i don't know what to do
Baby when you're gone, I realize I'm in love
days go on and on, and the nights just seem so long
Even food don't taste that good, drink ain't doing what it should
things just feel so wrong, baby when you're gone
Baby when you're gone, I realize I'm in love
days go on and on and the nights just seem so long
Even food don't taste that good, drink ain't doing what it should
things just feel so wrong, baby when you're gone

The radio station that I have requested Loaded, thinks I am with a marketing firm. As far as I know they havent played it yet but, I could have missed it as well. Niki

Not to take the shine off Loaded by any means but....
Being the small world that The OC is, I ran in to Alec on Fri nite & he was gracious enuf to give me a copy of CAMP TEDDY's NEW CD! Wooohooooo!!!
IT SO RAWKS!!!!! I love it!
Billy, are you so proud of these guys who you helped nurture & inspire?
There must be a great satisfaction in knowing you have an influence on music of the future, especially when it turns out as well as Camp Teddy rock it!

Airtime: Power, Politics & Money
Many, many years ago in this great country there was a controversial Canadian group called the Payolas. They named themselves after a scandal in the music industry. It was the concept of Payola, or the practice of record companies paying radio stations to play certain musicians on the air. Dick Clark refused to let the Payolas appear on American Bandstand unless they changed their name. They eventually broke up, and the lead singer and guitarist formed another group called Rock and Hyde.
In 1999, a group from Minneapolis called Semisonic recorded a song called "Closing Time". The tune was all right, but definitely not in the same league as "Stairway to Heaven" or "Hey Jude". Somehow "Closing Time" rose to the top of the charts and stayed there for weeks. It received a lot of airplay because MCA spent more than $1 million in radio promotion on the band.
Jessica Simpson and John Mayer have also benefited from similar arrangements between their labels and American radio stations. No wonder those two have been dating recently. They're just the tip of the iceberg.
Here in Canada, several artists are played on FM radio not because they're gifted but because they're Canadian. I like a few good Canadian groups including Great Big Sea, Three Days Grace, and Our Lady Peace. Yet there are many other Canadian bands that I can live without. But if the radio stations here don't follow Canadian Content laws, then they will lose their broadcasting licences. Enough said.

Billy Bob!!!!!!
Bif Naked, Bryan Adams and Rik Emmett from Triumph are my new "friends".
It's just so cool.
That totally makes up for the a**hole who gave me a hard time at the Rogers Wireless store when I had to take my Sony Eriksson phone in for repairs for the second time today!
Hope you had a cool day with your dad.
Bye...
