PRESS RELEASE, PODCAST, PATTERSON and PERFORMANCE
I love a bit of alliteration in the morning!! Except its night time, but what the hell. I thought I would do a quickie, so that I could put the official Koch press release up here, tell you about our alternative lead guitar touring plans, get last Saturdays CFR up on the site, and let you know about the acoustic thingy that we are gonna do at Gibson next week. And I couldn't resist the title of this post - it was begging for it! So, let me see - well, first of all, this is the official KOCH RECORDS press release.
KOCH RECORDS DOES DEAL WITH THE DEVIL
(New York, NY) — KOCH Records’ first signing for its new metal division is the Los Angeles based hard rock outfit, CIRCUS DIABLO. The band features members past and present from The Cult, Fuel, The Almighty and Camp Freddy. The self-titled debut album will be released on July 3rd, 2007 and features the single, “LOADED”.
CIRCUS DIABLO is Billy Morrison (vocals), Billy Duffy (lead guitar), Ricky Warwick (guitar), Brett Scallions (bass), with Charles Ruggiero of Slunt beating the skins live, while Velvet Revolver’s Matt Sorum performed all the drum tracks on the album, courtesy of RCA Records.
“Koch got this because they got this”, remarked front man Morrison, “and we couldn’t be at a better place”. Morrison, the founder of the legendary, mega-star studded, Hollywood based cover band Camp Freddy continued, “I will not be pining for some lost love while I hover over a piano, not even close, rock exists below the belt and we intend to deliver rock the way it was meant to be, hard, fast, and dirty.”
The band hits the road this summer in support of their debut album, with touring plans continuing through 2008. You can catch CIRCUS DIABLO at OZZFEST, and at press time the band has confirmed a co-headling tour with Nick (Queens Of The Stone Age) Oliveri’s Mondo Generator.
I LOVE the piano bit!!! Did I say that? I have no idea.....but its a great read! So.... thats the press release, and what I can add to that is our good friend, Rob Patterson (who just spent a couple of years in KORN) will be hopping on the bus and taking part in the Church Of Diablo initiation rituals (including goats, tomatoes and a very sticky paste-like substance!!) and playing lead guitar when Mr Duffy is not around.
Next up is the acoustic performance that I will be doing next week at the Eco/Green thing over at Gibson Beverly Hills. Everyone knows that I am 100% Gibson friendly, don't play anything else, and always say yes to anything they ask ..... and so I find myself appearing there next week, doing a couple of acoustic songs with Ricky and Rob. Should be a lot of fun. As I said, the Podcast is now up, and I have run out of things beginning with P to write about. So I'm off. See ya!!

Billy,
This maybe the greatest quote in the history of rock:
"I will not be pining for some lost love while I hover over a piano, not even close, rock exists below the belt and we intend to deliver rock the way it was meant to be, hard, fast, and dirty.”
You fuckin nailed that one mate, well done!

A Day in the Life... of Billy and Dave
[Billy and Dave walk into the Indie 103.1 FM studio at 6:00pm on a Saturday night.]
[The Camp Freddy theme plays on the sound system.]
Billy: This is another edition of Camp Freddy radio. I'm Billy Morrison.
Dave: And I'm Dave Navarro. Our guest today is Dorothy. I didn't catch your last name, hon. Where'd you say you were from?
Dorothy: I'm from Kansas.
[A small dog barks and jumps into her lap.]
Billy: And who's this little guy?
Dorothy: He's my dog. His name is Toto.
[Toto barks, jumps out of Dorothy's lap, and bites Dave's leg.]
Dave: Ouch! Stupid mutt. That hurt.
Dorothy: Sorry, Mr. Navarro. Toto's really apprehensive around strangers.
Billy: So, Dorothy. That was a terrible series of twisters that ploughed through your state last week.
Dorothy: I know! Luckily, no one on my family's farm was hurt in the tornado.
Billy: Good to know. Here's a song you might remember, Dorothy. "Dust in the Wind."
[Kansas plays on the sound system.]
Billy: What's wrong, Dave? Are you crying?
Dave: That's such a sad song, Billy, but it's so pretty.
Billy: Awwww. Dave's a really sensitive guy.
Dorothy: Well I think he's scary. Why does he have so many tattoos and piercings? And his nails are rotting. They're turning black.
Dave: That's polish! You hurt my feelings. Take it back, farm girl!
Dorothy: You're very unusual, Mr. Navarro.
Dave: Dorothy, you're not in Kansas anymore, and if I get rabies from that dog of yours, then I'm suing!
Billy: So, Dorothy. What brings you to the studio today?
Dorothy: I'm off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz!
Billy: You're meeting Ozzy Osborne? What made you join his fan club?
Dorothy: Because of the wonderful things he does.
Billy: And what sort of obstacles have you encountered on your journey?
Dorothy: Well first there was this violent man who got into a fight with some photographers last week. Someone said his name was Hugh. And then another nasty man called his poor daughter a pig. After that I met the Wicked Witch of the East and the Wicked Witch of the West. One of them owns a boutique on Rodeo Drive. That hag wouldn't give me a discount on her old stock!
Billy: Dorothy, you certainly have met some interesting people on your trip.
Dorothy: It's all so overwhemling. I miss Kansas so much.
Dave: Well it looks like we're out of time for today.
Billy: It's been a pleasure meeting you, Dorothy.
Dorothy: There's no place like home! There's no place like home!
[Dorothy clicks her heels together, and she vanishes in a puff of smoke.]

A Day in the Life... of Billy and Dave
[Dave walks into the Indie 103.1 FM studio at 6:15pm on a Saturday night.]
Dave: I'm here. Did you miss me, baby?
Billy: Took you long enough. Stop wasting so much time in those casinos!
Dave: Whatever, dude. Who's our guest in the studio today?
Billy: Eddie Vedder.
Dave: You invited Eddie Vedder to our show? Couldn't you find a BETTER MAN?
Billy: He's a fine musician and songwriter. There is no BETTER MAN.
Dave: I told you how his band humiliated us at the Grammys when I was still with the Peppers.
Billy: That was ages ago, bloke. Get over it. Water UNDER THE BRIDGE.
[Eddie arrives in the lobby and starts singing a capella.]
Eddie [singing]: It's like his thoughts are too big for his size. He's been taken, where, I don't know? Off he goes with his perfectly unkept clothes. And there he goes...
Dave: What the hell was that? You call that singing? More like mumbling.
Billy: Shut it, bloke! He's coming up the stairs.
Eddie: Billy, old boy. How the heck are ya? Long time no see.
Billy: Doing great, mate. Pull up a chair.
Eddie: And David, what's up in your world? Haven't seen you since I picked up that trophy. American Music Award, I think it was.
Dave: It was the Grammys. You won a prestigious award and you can't even remember what it's called. Sheesh!
Billy: Quiet, Dave! We're going on the air.
[The Camp Freddy theme plays in the background.]
Dave: Welcome, welcome. This is another edition of Camp Eddie, I mean Camp Freddy Radio. Our guest tonight is...
[Dave suddenly becomes nauseous and runs to the little boy's room.]
Billy: Our guest this evening is Eddie Vedder, the lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter from Pearl Jam. How are you this evening, Eddie?
Eddie: I'm awesome. I'm a BETTER MAN today than I was yesterday.
[Billy and Eddie laugh uncontrollably until their sides split open.]
Billy: But seriously, Eddie. Your band has a new album coming out next month.
Eddie: Yep, June 26. It's called "Live at the Gorge 05/06". It's actually a seven-disc collection produced on own Monkeywrench label.
Billy: Way to go, mate! Can hardly wait. Right now we have some classic Pearl Jam for all our faithful listeners here at Indie 103.1 FM..."Jeremy".
["Jeremy" plays on the sound system. Dave returns from the little boy's room.]
Billy: And that was "Jeremy". Out guest today on Camp Freddy Radio is Eddie Vedder. I'm Billy Morrison. Dave Navarro has now returned from the loo. You're a busy man, Eddie. We understand that you have to hightail it to your concert at Dodger Stadium in a few minutes. Before you leave, would you be able to share with us your favorite band story?
Eddie: Well, mate. I'd have to say my favorite Pearl Jam moment was when we joined the Chili Peppers in 1992 on the Lollapalooza tour. That was after Ten was released.
Billy: And a great festival that was. You're out of time, Eddie, but we're not. Nice having you in the studio today.
Dave: Stay in touch, dude. You rock.
Eddie: Thanks, guys. Call me again sometime, but DON'T CALL ME DAUGHTER! Gotta go, gotta go. Adios amigos!
[The Camp Freddy theme plays as Eddie leaves the studio.]

Like OMG!!!!! Raine Maida from Our Lady Peace has a blog, but it's not as cool as yours Billy. Bif Naked has one too, but Raine's is better. I should do something productive now, like polish the Harley.

Hi Billy- ever thought of getting your own personal myspace page or does it not interest you at all?
Have a FUNTASTIC weekend!Db
Posted by: Danni at May 11, 2007 10:17 PM
Peebs,
Thanks for the Banyan review, now it is just about finding some friends/family to galavant thru Missouri & Kansas to see Perk & then Circus Diablo. Scott would have done it in a heartbeat. Sucks trying to find people who are into the same music & willing to venture distances to see the groups you want. Scott would just have been glad we didnt have to fly anywhere to see them. Hehe. That is all he asked after we flew to Chicago to see TPC. Glad you had such a great time. Take care everyone. Niki

I promise not to poke fun at Camp Freddy anymore.
(Should I write it out 100 times like Bart Simpson?)
Billy's so busy. I love Loaded and Ants Invasion. I love Circus Diablo. I love Dave Navarro, too. I'm dining with aldermen from City Council while you 2 sit in the studio today. And I'm still working on this Ghosts book, which will inevitably be about Chris because he will never stop haunting me. I wrote a torch song for Chris the other day, and you can sing it to the tune of "Mr Crowley" by Ozzy. Ozzy had to do his Randy Rhodes tribute. Ozzy and Sharon ended up together because of love and loss. And most of Dave Grohl's songs with the Foo Fighters can somehow relate to Kurt Cobain. You don't choose your subject. It chooses you.

Hey Billy-Ozzy was on Opie and Anthony this morning plugging the new CD and Ozzfest. He's such a crack up! You and Dave need to get Ozzy as a guest on CFR!
Posted by: Robin (Peebs) at May 14, 2007 07:02 AM
That is 1 of my favorite C.F.R.'s ever! I got 2 talk With Dave on-air when Ozzy was on in '05. I was @ the mall and I got 2 do a Sport Chalet for Dave. (Ozzy had already left the building) Haha, I love it. It sucks @ work. 2 ppl have gotten fired for using Myspace here, I am close to it too cuz at 6767 to comment I have to use Myspace, hahaha!! Here we go again. Peace~

It's weird how a city of over a million people can feel so empty when one person leaves it. But it does. I've just finished writing Chapter 5 of this book about "MY IMMORTAL" goth guy Chris.
(not Chaney...not Cornell either)
I can't find the new CFR anywhere. I've been listening to reruns. I just need something to take my mind off the fact that my life feels so completely empty right now. I had dinner with celebrities and all I could think of was Chris. I have BF named Rick and I think about Chris when I'm with Rick. Is that wrong? It wouldn't really matter who's on my MS friends list if it's not Chris. He reminds me of that song by the Scorpions "there's no one like you." I was published once. Chris was published twice. He's working on 4 other projects right now. We both worked together for YEARS...until now. Oh well.
Work is so unbearable now. No one here has gotten fired for using Myspace. But we're blocked from using Facebook and msn.
[end of shit for today]

Ok, I am kinda out of the loop here but, was there or was there not a new CFR on Sat? No post here or on 6767. According to 6767 Dave was out of town. Im needing my fix real quick. CFR is what usually gets me thru Monday morning blahs. Just wanting to know. Peebs, I am trying to decide how well worth it is to try and catch both banyan and Circus Diablo in the same weekend. We would be driving a LOT of the lovely state of Kansas for the majority of the trip. And what Banyan is doing kind of a fest thing, that I dont usually go for but it looks like it is for a good cause. My main goal is to see Circus Diablo. Need some advise here. I am still holding out that Billy will have some club dates in KC or Omaha, but until then Salina KS is my only answer. Take care eveyone. Niki
Posted by: Merc957 at May 14, 2007 07:29 PM
yep there was a CFR,iv sent it to Billy already but i think hes away for a few days, have faith ya'll
