FAMILY TIES

STOP PRESS: We have just added our debut single, LOADED, to the MySpace profile, so make sure you take a trip over there and give it a listen. CLICK HERE FOR THE CIRCUS DIABLO MYSPACE PAGE.

Its all happening around Chez Morrison at the moment! As well as the slow and inexorable build up of Loaded going to radio, the album being released and the band going on tour……as well as Circus Diablo rehearsals next week, as well as beginning to shoot the movie the following week, as well as starting a series of guitarist to guitarist audio interviews for Modern Guitars Magazine …… as well as all this and way more …..my parents are visiting!!!! It’s the annual two week visit, and I am right in the middle of a juggling act so acutely precarious, that I really should be applying to join the Circus. Hold on …..wait …… I’m already IN THE CIRCUS! Ha ha! Oh shit, I’m full of good ones today! Anyway you get the idea. Yes, its really busy, and yes, my folks visiting is added time away from work, but I love them, I’m greatful for everything in my life, and at the end of the day, who cares really!!

So here’s the deal. I have not had time to read all the questions from the past few posts, so how about we start again, and you can all feel free to ask any questions you like on this post and I’ll definitely do a Q+A at the weekend. Promise. Ask away, and if you are repeating a question, I apologize – this time I’ll read them all.

Last weeks CFR is up now on the Podcasts page, thanks to Paul. You gotta hand it to the guy – he stays up every week until 4.00am to record the show for all you lot. Its not for me – I already heard it…..I was there!! So its done for the love of this site, and I appreciate it. I hope everyone else does too.

What else? Well, two more shows added to the ‘Off Dates’ – the days when we are not doing the Ozzfest shows. This time its 08/07/07 Peabodys, CLEVELAND, OH and 08/13/07 Badger Theater, REEDSBURG, WI. Still more dates getting added and a few exciting things being talked about to slot into the itinerary as we troll around America for a couple of months. More details as they come. I did hear today that the album will be released in Japan in August, and Europe/UK in September. That’s good news because it strengthens our case for traveling overseas and coming to play those markets. Nothing as yet, so don’t ask! But it’s a step in the right direction. We are also beginning to think about a video for Loaded, and if the concept doing the rounds right now comes to fruition, it should come out looking amazing. We’ll see. Also in the current edition of METAL EDGE MAGAZINE is the following two page spread on Diablo - an interview with Brett and myself. A jolly good read!!

So not a lot else to tell you – its family time right now – although Rob, Ricky and myself are still doing the acoustic thing at Gibson on Thursday. We ran through a couple of Diablo songs the other day on acoustics and they sounded great. Should be a blast. And lastly I wanna let everyone know that Daves SPREAD TV debuts on Thursday night as well. See www.6767.com for details - and I want to wish him all the best for his debut show. That guy is actually DOING what a lot of people just talk about doing, and for that we should ALL support him. Thats it - I am outta here – all questions will, as promised, get answered at the weekend. Have fun, stay safe, and see you all this summer.

Peace

Billy

Hi billy, good to see you back!

Talking about European Dates, If you would ever do a European tour with CD. Don't forget Belgium ;).

Enjoy your rehearsals!

I understand that this would just mean spending more money in more places but would there ever be a possibility that the album would be available in a counrty like New Zealand

Hi Billy - Jen's cousin from SC here. Congrats on the good news regarding Circus Diablo. I have enjoyed keeping up with all your activities through your websites (as well as through Deb, Ward, and Kevin). I was just wondering, can you confirm that you guys will be playing the Ozzfest show in Charlotte on 8/28? (I know these things change but, at this point, does it look promising?) Will Jen be spending any time with you on the road during the tour?

Again, we are all excited for you and wish you the very best of luck. Please tell Jen hello.

Best Wishes,
Collin Drum Coggeshall

Billy,

Does Jen go on tour with you or does she just come to visit when she can? That must be hard for you two. Really looking forward to the cd & the tour dates!!! Hoping for one closer to KC or Omaha but Salina will do!!! Take care everyone. Thanks Paul! Niki

Billy, can't wait to see you at OzzFest in Indianapolis...hopefully, waiting to reserve my tickets....

QA: Who is the one person who has influenced your musical career the most? Who is the one person you would love to play with but haven't had the opportunity?

Thanks for the updates.

Great news that your album will be released in Japan in August !!

wow! can't wait!! You definitely have to come to Japan to play some gigs.

Thanks once again Paul, we don't appreciate you enough!!! I'll buy ya a beer If I get tickets for VR in London.

Question,

1.Why did you choose LA when you left London?

2.What are your hopes for the Circus Diablo album, any expectations?

3. With all your Rock star friends, were you ever tempted to have any 'special guests' featuring on the album to maybe boost it's popularity?

thanks

I forgot if I asked anything in the last few blogs...I'm suffering from "CRS" lately.

Can't Remember Shit.

I'm sure your folks are thrilled to watch you being so busy and productive! Even if it's sucking time away from "family time".

Well...Sue, Deena and I have been busy getting our feet wet (part time of course) in "booking" gigs. What a fun learning experience! So if you need ANY assistance with the NYC, you don't even have to ask and know how to reach us.

This Thursday we'll be at Starland seeing VR (and then Nokia on Tuesday!)I can't wait!!

Btw....GREAT NEW PHOTO with Charles!!

^^ yeah what she said!

Here is my repeated question because it still puzzles me:

You said you Fedexed the tapes to NY...why can't you transmit the files electronically? Does it have something to do with the quality? I'm confused.

Billy,

I continue to dig Loaded. All the best with your upcoming radness!

Why is it that CD tracks such as Loaded are not currently availble to be added to pages on myspace?

Posted by: Spencer at May 15, 2007 06:04 PM

Guess what Billy! I got into the Chili Peppers Fan Club free! (Didn't want another Tommy Lee to happen.) And I finished writing Chapter 7 of My Immortal's book. It is a Labour of Love, like that UB40 album.
Laissé il y ait chez Morrison d'amour et de bonheur. Laissé il y ait paix au monde et de bonne volonté à tous les hommes.
Sadly, I know 100x more French than my mother's tongue. Frickin Canadian schools....

I asked two questions previously-
scratch them
Are you sure you will answer this time?:)

If you were stranded on a desert island, what THREE things would you have with you! Take care "Bill" Db

Hey Hey!!

Looking forward to the album and im glad to hear it will be released over here in the UK!

Question time:

Many people choose to document their life in a book, what made you decided to make a film about your life?

Take Care Dude, we love ya!

Is there any way of regular Joe's like myself getting a hold of a "Camp Freddy" edition Gibson guitar or is that stictly custom shop for you guys? I know that there is an un-written rule about some companies not reproducng certain things. I'm guessing that the CF Les Paul is one of them.

As for the summer tour, if by any chance Circus Diablo can sneak over the Canadian border, I would be a happy guy.

Take care!

Hey Billy

QUESTION:

Have you heard of a band called Gallows? Theyr getting quite big at the moment in the UK in the Punk like circuit.... they are AWESOME. Real proper punk, with a bit of a metal added in. I think you'd like them, you should definetly check them out

(P.s, Im not an advertising guy or whatever for the band, just a big fan, and i thought you'd be interested cause you say your a big fan of punk and the whole "taking the music business back thingy, so yeah.... hope you like them.)

Posted by: Justin at May 16, 2007 11:59 AM

I just wanna say that I am TOTALLY digging Loaded!!

PERFECT summertime song, driving fast with the windows open...

See you in August!!

Love,
Sue

Posted by: Sue at May 16, 2007 01:21 PM

I don't love you any less now, Billy.
You're just as cute as Anthony Kiedis, but not My Immortal.
And I just finished writing Chapter 8 of My Gothic Romance.

Posted by: Francesca (Ghost) at May 16, 2007 06:15 PM

How do you decide the set lists for the shows? I presume you switch it up a little bit. But is it something one person decides or is it a collective thing?

i see theres another revolving member of circus diablo in town.....

Posted by: Paul at May 17, 2007 05:03 AM

My Chemical Romance is playing here tomorrow night.
We're going to see them at the Dome.
I'd see Diablo or TPC if they played here, but they're not. Oh well.
Something to take my mind off the stress from all the shit that's happening around here.

I love Loaded. Your voice reminds me of Kenny Shields sometimes.

Did you get to attend the Musicares MapFund benefit this year?? Think I spotted you there. What an amazing evening for a great cause! What did you think of the performances?
Aside from Chris sounding amazing.. I thought Dave Gahan/John Frusciante were great, & Im not really a Depeche Mode fan. The whole show rocked!
CONGRATS to Chris Cornell & Jeff McClusky.

Cant wait to see Circus Diablo at the Roxy (Im partial to the smaller venues). But OZZFEST will be amazing as well. Take care Billy. Hj
