RECORD DEALS AND SPINNING WHEELS

So there you have it. We signed our deal with Koch Entertainment, and couldn’t be happier. The record will be released on July 3rd and our first single, LOADED, will be heading towards a radio station near you sometime in May. I am still working on album artwork, press, rehearsing, merch ideas etc etc and enjoying the process. Being able to move Circus Diablo forward is a blessing and hopefully we will be able to bring you the list of confirmed extra dates this week. Either way, we are off and running and, along with Camp Freddy, a movie, a radio show and my sites, I can now front an amazing rock band all summer long. Not really sure what I did to deserve all that, but I am certainly very greatful for everything. It felt like we were spinning our wheels for a while, but there is no point in getting caught up in the details - we just had to let it all play out.

And some of you have been asking about Jeremy, and the answer is simple – he had previous commitments with Steve Vai and was unable to do the summer touring with Diablo. We all love Jeremy, and it was tons of fun working with him. But he had already committed to touring with Steve, and when our plans started to unfold, we all realized they didn’t match up. And that’s it – enter Charles Ruggiero. We have been rehearsing together and the band sounds tight (and LOUD!!) Onwards towards Ozzfest and beyond.

Got the new Podcast up on this site now – and I hope that the I-Tunes subscribing thing still works. Well, it works for me, so I presume its all good. And Dave and I will be in again this coming Saturday. Gilby Clarke was a great guest and if you didn’t hear the show, go to the PODCASTS page of this site and listen NOW!!

That’s all I got for you right now. Keep an eye on all the sites - CIRCUS DIABLO’s MYSPACE PAGE, CIRCUS DIABLO’s WEBSITE, and of course, this very blog of mine. As we get dates, news, details etc, I will make sure that you guys know first. And with that, I gotta get out and get to the gym. I know I still need to attack a bunch of questions, so be patient and I’ll get to it, I promise. And I will also reschedule that Web Chat Session with Karen – God, I just gotta remember to do all this stuff, and then find time. Thank you to everyone who has stuck around – should be a fun summer.

Peace

Billy

I gotta say "Loaded" is a GREAT radio single! Dave plays it a lot on SRL, so much so I know almost all the lyrics already!

sorry for double-posting, but while deciding on merch, don't forget a necklace or dogtags or something if you can swing it!

Posted by: Sue at April 30, 2007 11:43 AM

Dude this is awesome for you!! Yes so lately I've been trying to get in as much Indie 103.1 as possible. I have managed to get in the last two CFR's live, that way I get the music. Really dug LOADED... Get it out there!!!

:D

Posted by: Spencer at April 30, 2007 12:16 PM

Will you still do CFR when you're on tour? I thought if not then they'd have to rename it "Camp David". That wouldn't be a bad thing. It has a nice ring to it. Peaceful sounding.
I love you Billy Bob!

Posted by: Francesca (Ghost) at April 30, 2007 01:06 PM

You deserve all the success and recognition you get. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, as far as I can see.

Again, congrats.

That's awesome Billy. You have my support 100%. I'll actually go old skool, and buy the cd in the store. DO people even do that anymore? HA.

How can I organize a BK/NYC Street team? You know, to get poeple out to the shows and hook you up with some club dates while you are in town? I can think of at least 5 spots that would love to have you. Lemme know...

Best wishes to you & cant wait to see CD & purchase the cd!! Niki

So much good Morrison news I can hardly stand it! Thanks for being persistent and patient to bring all this to us!

Hi Bill;) Very interesting comments about the music industry today. I wish something would change. It was very different for US "old timers"
growing up and hearing such a diversity of music. -not just the manufactured fluff.

Have a good week Mr Morrison-peace out, Db

hate to be the anti-corporate, anti-aor-man, kind of guy...while i am very pleased that koch is backing with what appears to be full force...will the disc be available "artist direct" via paypal or anything similar or should i antipicate my july 3 purchase to be through the usual channels?

i'm one of those ol' school types that wants disc in hand with the artwork and liner notes as opposed to an itunes downloaded, cyberspace
"thang."

congrats again.

Great CFR!!!

I loved the fact that you mentioned Bromley and Croydon, that was class! I've never heard of the music shop you used to go to. I think you should do a gig in Brommers hahah at the Royal Bell!

Whenever I hear you guys talk about the industry it makes me sad. It puts more pressure on us to not just be artists but great artists which is difficult for my ego to digest.

I think you and Dave are being a bit harsh on the bands today, yeah there's no Led Zep or Hendrix about but those guys were sent from somewhere special to inspire all of us. If you try something new these days you wont survive, whereas in the old days you had 2 or 3 albums to 'find' yourself.

There are still the likes of Kasabian and The Kings of Leon who are making great music still!

keep the faith!!

good luck with Circus Diablo, you guys will rock!!!

BTW Chad Kroeger was my aunt's neighbor in Hanna.
He did time for B&E and drug dealing.
For some silly reason...I still waste my hard-earned money on his CD's.
If people still judged ME based on what I did when I was a teenager, I'd be in hot water.
Somehow I've been able to separate an artist's personal life from his music.

Wow - July 3rd. I guess I have 2 new CDs to buy that day... how am I going to decide what to listen to first? Circus Diablo or Velvet Revolver?

I love Loaded! You sound damn good!!

Posted by: Carly at May 2, 2007 08:45 AM

Awesome!

Posted by: hotcat at May 2, 2007 09:07 AM

Loaded... the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Circus Diablo. Its undetermined mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no band has gone before.

Those of us gifted, if u will, are able channel Anna Nicole. She wants to be heard. She is still thrilled about Slash paying his respect in the Bahamas. Her soul is very powerful, especially since Howard didn't play fair with her~

All good News! awesome! Loaded is terrific. Can't wait for the CD!

Posted by: Terri at May 2, 2007 02:58 PM

Billy 'my English friend' Morrison, I simply can't stop singing Loaded!!!! You don't mind if I scream, IT ROCKS BALLS!!! love it, man~~~

Posted by: Anny at May 2, 2007 04:43 PM

In times like this, you have to laugh it off, whatever it is. While I get my Harley ready for the road, I find myself singing this gem:

Ground control to Morrison
Ground control to Morrison
Take your hair straightener and turn your guitar on

Ground control to Morrison
Commencing countdown, pedal board on
Check distortion and may Dave's love be with you

Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five,
Four, three, two, one, liftoff

This is ground control to Morrison
You've really made the grade
And the papers want to know whose shorts you wear
Now it's time to leave the studio if you dare

This is Morrison to ground control
I'm stepping out the door
And I'm floating in a most peculiar way
And the band looks very different today

For here
Am I sitting in a studio
Far above the world
Sunset Strip is blue
And there's nothing left to do

Though I'm past one hundred thousand years
I'm feeling really young
And I think my tour bus knows which way to go
Tell Jennifer I love her very much she knows

Ground control to Morrison
Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Morrison?
Can you hear me, Morrison?
Can you hear me, Morrison?
Can you....

Here am I floating in my studio
Far above the moon
Sunset Strip is blue
And there's nothing left to do...

Hey Billy, I saw Scott has a new charity that aides families who lost loved ones through addiction. This sounds like something Camp Freddy can definitely do shows for! Like maybe the 5 years/5 cities shows you and Dave keep talking about doing!
