A NEW ENTRY
Its been a few days since I posted (although I have cracked more than a few smiles reading the crazy responses! I swear some of you really need to lighten up a little!!) but I am back here in LA after a few days break over the Easter Holiday. It seems that after a meeting we had yesterday, we have tied up all the finer points of the Circus Diablo deal – we expect to be signing the paperwork in the next few days. What this means is that I will be able to give you release details of the album and single – and we can finally start thinking how we get band and crew around the country on the Ozzfest on $24 and a cheeseburger! I gotta tell you that ANYONE out there, playing in a band, or supporting a band, or just plain old being a fan of music, that thinks getting a record deal is the end of your problems …. Think Again!! It is just the beginning. But it’s a fun journey, and rising to meet the challenges is what its all about. (One day soon, I am actually going to post a detailed blog of JUST how it has all worked with Diablo – maybe once its all underway and we are on the road).
What else, what else? Well, I had a phone call offering me a part in another movie – regular readers will know that I love doing the film thing, so the usual rules apply. No details (although I can tell you it’s a horror film and I get to kill LOTS of people in it!!) but fingers crossed. It shoots in May, so I will know whats happening with that fairly soon. Hopefully it doesn’t go the way of the last one – Sin Jin Smyth – where after meetings and emails and phonecalls …….. NOTHING!!! Typical of a business that hates to say no, and yet does so every hour of every day. I hope it comes out thought, cos I saw the film and its really good!
Camp Freddy Radio will definitely be an all new show this coming Saturday. Dave and I did not go in over the Easter Vacation weekend, but we will be back in full effect this coming weekend for our usual fun and frolics. And I haven’t spoken to anyone in the Freddy camp for a little while now, but I hope that a show or two get announced soon. We were talking about an LA gig with tickets for everyone, but then Sorum disappeared to Chile, I got lost at the restaurants on the Sunset Strip trying to figure out this deal for Diablo, and Dono and Dave …… well, we speak on the phone or text every few days, but I think its time to get our shit together again. Lets play a show.
Finally, lets do another Q+A – go ahead and ask me any questions you have (or have asked already and I just didn’t answer!) – and let me remind you all that I will be signing on to have a webchat on April 15th @ 4:00pm LA time – at www.billymorrison.us - so I will attempt to type as quickly as I can. Last time I did that, it blew my mind!! That’s all I got right now – have a great day everyone and I’ll be back soon.
Peace
Billy

I am so excited about the upcoming Circus Diablo news!! I'm hoping the CD comes out before the Ozzfest dates!
Any city your looking forward to on the tour?
also what ever happened Tripping Forward? Was it ever unleashed on the public or did it go straight to video?
I'll try and make the chat Sunday! Fun fun!

Hi Billy. Good luck in your film roles. Can't wait for CFR. It makes life less dull around here. I've got a weakness for English accents. I'm the only one in my whole neighbourhood & office who watches Coronation Street. You have a life. You've probably never seen it.
And Dave & Don aren't bi. They're just artists. My stepbrother was a homosexual. He died 5 years ago. That's why I have so many friends that are gay guys. Love & loss...what can you do?
Guten abend.

Do you have any songs that are just really annoying, and bad, yet you just can't get out of your head?
I've got a few that I'm haunted by - like that *beautiful* song by James Blunt. Awful.

Looking forward to the chat, and even moreso the potential to see you in a horror film--we'll have to go to an East Coasters screening.
**Question**
Are you following the Nine Inch Nails ARG online for the upcoming release of Year Zero? It's amazing, if not hit me up and I'll give you a synopsis and point you towards some mindblowing stuff.
Speaking of horror films, what is your all-time favorite (sorry if you've answered before, but if you have I can't remember...I have CRS (Can't Remember Shit) lately.
Love,
Sue

Billy,
With Diablo dates on the horizon, how do you prepare yourself mentally, physically and musically for that matter for the grind of
fronting a touring band on the road?
Also, I love the idea of a detailed "How it all happened with Diablo" blog, please make that happen!!
Thank you,
Jay

Hey Billy,
Just wanted to pay you some huge RESPECTS for all thr hard work with Circus Diablo..I can only imagine what you and the band had to endure in order to make the album available for the masses...as Jay said, I hope you get to share with us just how insane the music industry acts these days.
ALL THE POWER to you and bring the house down in the Ozzfest dates !

Hi Billy,
First of all, your a great inspiration for me, to try and make Belgium rock! with the weblogs and stuff thats really cool
But now "The Question". What do you search for in a guitar or an amp? And how would you describe your own sound?
Posted by: Fred at April 11, 2007 03:11 PM
Camp... Freddy... Show... in... LA.. sooooooon.. Aaaaaahhhhh. My fix is LONG overdue.
Are there other administrative things the other band members do (for both CF & CD?)... sounds like you do it all. Wondered if that's by choice or not.
Posted by: Kate at April 11, 2007 03:46 PM
what band put on what you consider to be the best rock show you've ever seen while on the road (not in their home environment)?
Posted by: mary at April 11, 2007 04:35 PM
the video was pure awesomeness can't wait for another CF show.
Posted by: Wendybird at April 11, 2007 05:20 PM
After a long day of organising a show, your feet are killing you from rushing around all day....Ever wished that you had a stool on stage, or just felt like sitting down but couldnt coz the tune you are playing just does not allow for this.
Okay I know, silly question, but it is the best I could come up with at this late hour.

Hi Billy, I'm looking forward to CFR.
I love horror flicks, but I find nothing is scarier than true life crime stories. What are your thoughts on that subject?

Who is your favourite serial killer?
Posted by: interested at April 12, 2007 01:49 AM
I'm from Sydney Australia, and love CFR and hearing the new music you guys play.
Have you toured Australia before? Would love to see a CF/Diablo/TPC/Revolver tour make it down here.

Hi billy, you know when you do your live chat...
Will you do it... naked?
Posted by: fashion column at April 12, 2007 05:06 AM
Billy, I remembered today that yesterday was a anniversary of sorts...
1 year ago Camp Freddy played on top of the Hard Rock marquee in Times square! And I had a lovely conversation with you on 43rd St after the show!
That was a GREAT night!
Posted by: Robin (Peebs) at April 12, 2007 07:54 AM
Hi Billy, I'm new here...have really enjoyed you on 103.1 with Dave so decided to check out your website. You do a fantastic job of keeping your fans informed and entertained. Very interested in Circus Diablo...I've heard a lot about the band...but have never heard a single song. Looking forward to that.
Look forward to more news when you can provide it.
Thanks, Dawna

Billy,
Is it possible for you to get all the recorded Camp Freddy Radio episodes from 2004 & 2005 that you, Dave or Indie may have and make them downloadable?
I want to hear some of the old shows you guys did! I have everything from 2006 & so far in 2007, as well as a few from Dec. 05, but nothing before that. Please Billy! Please!!

Dear Billy, I notice from looking at your hair that you probably use hair straighteners.
I am thinking about getting a pair, is there any particular type that you recommend? I have heard that ceramic are better if you are straigtning your hair everyday. Also, if you use them everyday, do you notice that they affect the condition of your hair? If so, how do you address this? Any particular conditioning treatments?
If anyone else here wants to help out with this, that would be great!
Thanks,
From Alex

Did you ever get into The Libertines? I've never heard you speak about them and I think they'd be right up your street.
Posted by: Max at April 13, 2007 12:56 AM
Alex ~ Billy has that Japanese hair straightening thing done. I've got a pretty good memory sometimes!
Except I don't know really what that Japanese thing is all about, but then you're hair stays straight for a while..and so then no fiddling with girlie hair products!! Even I hate doing that stuff. I just want to get up and voila I'm ready.
Posted by: ylais at April 13, 2007 01:30 AM
ps. I know nothing about hair staightening. my hair is already straight. curlers. now that i know about.
Posted by: ylais at April 13, 2007 01:32 AM
Thanks Ylais! That Japanese hair straightening thing sounds great! PLEASE tell us about it Billy?
Yeah Paul, my hair goes curly at the bottom too, my fringe is a total mess,... I just KNOW if I had straight glossy hair my life would get so much better...
Relaxer - then straighten.. hmmm. Where does this keith work?
Posted by: Alex at April 13, 2007 04:05 AM
keith = hair god!!!!
beverley hills.....hit him up on myspace but alex the problem your having is EXACTLY the same as mine......trust get a relaxer and turn into frankie
Posted by: paul at April 13, 2007 06:47 AM
Thanks! I hit his space up,couldn't see anyone called Frankie, saw some other pics tho, but the labelling is confusing cause it says Aimee Mann underneath a picture of Billy Duffy, maybe i'm missing it but I can't quite see the likeness...
I'll maybe pop in there. Will let you know how it goes Paul....
Posted by: Alex at April 13, 2007 07:24 AM
lol relaxer .....frankie......
frankie says relax dont do it!

I just read that Supernova sold only 56,000 albums!!As an aspiring musician reading all this stuff about how bad the music industry is for rock it's kind of disheartening :( I mean if a band with Tommy lee flops what chance has anyone else got? Is rock dead? I'm thinking only 'soft rock' sells these days....what dya think, to sell records dya have to sell out and go soft?
Posted by: Max at April 13, 2007 09:50 AM
Supernova didn't sell, for one reason. It was crap music that no-one wanted to listen to.
Crap music is crap music, even Tommy Lee can't camouflage that.

Alex - Try hair products by Kerastase. The bottles are an orange color, at any upcale Salon or good Beauty supply.

Did Dave shut down his blog? I'm surprised no one has said anything.
Man, I could sure use some sex and love advice and don't know if I (or he) can wait until tomorrow night's CFR or if I'll even be vertical to be able to call in! Where were you guys when I needed you last week ?!

i must admit as nice as tommy and lucas are....and i met them and they spoke about all the big plans it didnt come off right.....most people thought dilana should have won it but...even if she did would supernova have been any better....on a same not gilby has left and again he for me was a key part.....not only a rythem guitarist in gnr but a great lead guitairst to make this band bigger and better they need a astablished name ....
ps..... i say that in spite...theres so much undiscoved talent out there ala bumblefoot gnr(did u know him b4 gnr i dont think so) that to get record cpmapany to back after the recent fall they need a big name
Posted by: paul at April 13, 2007 06:27 PM
Hi Billy!
What movie could you watch OVER and OVER?
Happy Weekend :) Danni

Where the heck has Mr.Navarro got too?!!
Are there any other showbiz secrets like how to always look good in a photo?
How do you keep a good attitude when you don't feel well?
How can I get all those 'freebies'?
Real questions though. I'm doing a take me seriously thing. So now unless I put a stick out tongue or say joking, or something, I'm being serious.
Will you be immersing yourself into this part in the film? Have you ever taken acting lessons? Just curious.
Posted by: ylais at April 14, 2007 01:04 AM
Where is Dave Navarro? Geez his fans are so fuckin desperate they are even posting voodoo curses to try and bring him back.
