MIAMI BEACH, CAMP FREDDY STYLE

Its been a fun trip to Miami and last nights show was a perfect end to the trip. They tell me that 12,000 people watched Camp Freddy perform last night and we had a great show. Loud, energetic and about an hour and a half long, we played 16 songs and brought up a few friends to enjoy the evening with .... I will have a V-Blog and a complete blow by blow of the evening when I get back to LA, but for now, I wanted to check in and tell you it was a blast. Oh yeah - and I ran into Michael Caine while we were wandering about in South Beach! Couldnt resist it, so I did the whole fan thing and went up and introduced myself!! Told him that we had named our band Camp Freddy (after the character in the original Italien Job movie) and he LOVED that! Its weird, but he seemed really touched that we named the band after a character in one of his movies - so Big Up and Massive Respec' to Mr Michael Caine!!

No diving for Jen and I - the conditions out at sea were very rough (three divers actually died on the wreck that we were intending to dive on the same day as we were booked to go - so I thank God that we listened to the warnings and cancelled our dives) but we had a great time in South Beach anyway - went to see 300 (totally astounding - what a fantastic movie) and generally laid about out hotel relaxing. We did drive down to Key Largo one of the days, and it just reaffirmed that when the conditions are better, we absolutely need to come back to dive.

So like I said, we are traveling back today. Which means this post is a quick one. No CFR last night (I think they ran an old show) but we are back next week in full effect. And of course, next week is Fashion Week and a few DJ things for me to do. I'll let you know how I do!!! Once I get back to LA, I'll put a V-Blog together from the Miami footage, and I'll get the Camp Freddy site updated with setlist and guests from the show. For now, have a great relaxing Sunday and I'll be back soon.

Peace

Billy

Hey Billy! Heard about those divers last night (so tragic!) and had a heart flip over whether you were diving in those waters! Glad to hear that you heeded the warnings!

Awesome that the show had such a great turn out! Of course, even if we could go to the show, NYC was snowed/iced in on Friday so pretty much all the flights were grounded! Sorry that we missed what seems to be a rockin' good time and can't wait to see the footage from the show!

Awesome that you got to meet and chat with Michael Caine!

Here's a question, since you brought up doing the "fan" thing with Caine, anyone else that you have approached as a fan?

Have a great safe trip back to L.A.!

P.S. Loved the hair cut vlog! priceless!

Good decision not to dive. I look forward to the Vblog and set list of the Miami goings on!

Hopefully someday , will get to catch a Camp Freddy show. Being here in the state you like LEAST;) I doubt it.......
Thanx for the update, Happy SuNday:)db

I wonder if the diving conditions had anything to do with the Nor' Easter we got? Cause it can churn up the sea for MILES! I won't go on a boat in NY if there's a tropical storm off the Carolinas!!
Sue called me Friday and said "See there's a reason we didn't book expensive flights to Miami".

Cool Michael Caine Story!! Did you go all out "Fan girlish" and get a picture too?

Safe flight back to LA!

Thank God 4 your intelligence!! It is tragic what happened to the divers on your planned trip, Billy~ Lots of wicked weather lately. It sounds like the show was amazing, of course! That would have been the best! -clk

You ran into Michael Caine!?! He doesn't sing, does he? Play in instrument, perhaps? He would make the perfect special guest at a Camp Freddy show.

just how far will a Camp Freddy virgin go to get rocked?...thru a snowstorm and a cancelled flight! that's right. and now that i've gotten some...I WANT MORE! i almost didnt make it down, but i got myself on an early-ish flight sat and made it to the show later in the evening. my weekend was cut short, but i had proper hang time, and SO glad we made it to the show. Now get that jet to bring you all to BK/NYC soon.

Ok, I dont know why I feel the need to share this with you guys but, I do. I had to bury my husband that I had been with for 18 years last Friday. I am lost, scared and dont know what or where I am going from here. I guess the Bud and ambien are kicking in so here goes. Seriously let every one you love, let them know that everyday!!! My husband and I had a wonderful relationship that I will miss for the rest of my life. We had a wonderful last evening together. We always went out with friends on Thursday nights and it was a great night. When we got home, we had netflixed Black Label Society, which he truly loved. My last memory of my husband was him pulling the guitar over his shoulder & putting in that dvd. I told him I loved him, but I was tired and going to bed. That is the last memeory I have of him. We had the opportunity to whatch the Sex Pistsols dvds together and really got into them after the first one. We had planned on getting the cd together and listening to it. He said it was more rock than punk in todays aspects. I am really happy we made the trip to Chicago to see Dave's band and Scott even told me that Dave was a far better guitar player than he had ever thought before. I am truely saddened that we were not able to see Circus Diablo together before he died. He was tragically killed in a car accident on his way to work. If your are interested you can to go to kcstar.com & look under the obituaries if you wish. His name was Scott Halley. I just love this site & miss reading it & posting on it. I have kinda just been lurking lately. I am truly just walking in a haze right now. I am not looking for sympathy or anything else. I am just kind of venting. You all have been a source of entertainment/peace to me for the last several months. I dont know what else to say. I am strong and I will get through this. I have a wonderful support system between my family and his and combined friends. There is just SOOOO much I will miss with out him here. You get a great one every once in a while and he was by far one of them. Thanks for letting me vent, I dont want to be lurker any longer. Thanks for listening & give those you love an extra big hug tonight or hold their hand just a little longer. That is what I truely miss. It is the old saying , If I had just ONE more minute with him!!! Thanks again, and I think you will be my support group for a while. Niki.

Niki, I'm so sorry about your tragic & sudden loss.

Words can't express the emotions you feel when something like this happens but what you wrote gives us a wonderful insight into the love you shared.

I wish you peace & comfort from your friends & family.

Niki-
Our hearts are with you. Hang in there and be strong- for this too shall pass. Never forgotten, but the haze will lift. It will lift and you will regain your clarity. In the meantime- take care of yourself; give yourself love. Eat things that you enjoy, find beauty in even the smallest thing- like a bug that lands next to you; feel the sunlight on your face and be comforted. Be patient and take all the time you need to put your feet back on the ground. You will find peace.

Nikki , I am so sorry . My thoughts are with you.You are so right in saying to tell the ones we love that we do. I think in day to day life we sometimes forget that. Thank you for reminding me. Sending much love your way

Niki, thanks 4 reminding me why Billy's and Dave's sites kick so much Ass, peace. rockw

Posted by: Carly at March 21, 2007 05:05 PM

I tell you what, you guys are wonderful!!! When I would be at the computer, Scott would come in an ask, who are you talking to Dave or Billy? Because he knew I only visited two sites. I miss him soooo much but, it was joke between us, I always liked " tall, dark, and handsome." He was blonde haired and blued eyed. I told him all the time that meant I must have really loved him, because he was so not what I was looking for. I cannot express the appreciation for everyone's thoughts. When I get myself together I WILL respond to each of you individually. You guys have been awesome! I just wish I could rewind 6 months or fast forward a year. I just dont want to be where I am at. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I am just taking day by day. I will get thru this, Scott would want me to. Niki
