OSCAR AND THE STATUE
STOP PRESS: The podcast from last nights Camp Freddy Radio is now up on the Podcasts page of this site, and also available from I-Tunes, if you subscribe to the Billy Morrison Podcast. As usual, mucho thanks to our very own "Paul The Podcast Person"!
Yep - FINALLY, I am back up and running, with all server issues seemingly sorted out! Took a while, but now we have lots of space for all the good stuff, like V-Blogs, music etc etc. And while that was being worked on, I took advantage of the many Gifting Suites, Spas and events that have been taking place this week in Hollywood. Its Oscar Week, and that means more envelope openings to attend!! I kept the gifting to a minimum, but I did attend Brent Bolthouse and Brandon Boyds exhibition of artwork and photographs in Hollywood. Its great to see Brents photographs being shown properly, with the right lighting in a fantastic space. And Brandons artwork is brilliant - really 'out there' and thought provoking.
I will be attending the Elton John annual Oscar dinner on Sunday, and have a dinner tonight with Jeff Beck and Billy Gibbons .......... oh GOD!! Now that sentence is pure name-dropping!!!! Whatever, I have a great weekend ahead, including a brand new CFR tonight with Matt Sorum. We have some in-studio guests dropping by ... a band called AntiProduct. So tune in and join us for a couple of hours tonight on Indie 103.1FM from 6pm to 8pm.
Apologies for the lack of appearance round here last week, but I really was 'cleaning house' with the old server and getting everything running smoothly on the new one. Now its all done, I can get back to the business of running the sites. Circus Diablo are moving ahead with the touring plans and album release plans, Camp Freddy is doing the Bacardi event in Miami in a couple of weeks and planning a Five Year birthday party for later in the year. I am taking a bunch of meetings about some TV ideas I have knocking about, and we continue with the weekly radio show. I also have a great appearance coming up during LA Fashion Week, which I will tell you more about next week, and have some songwriting/studio time booked over the next few weeks, to work on some co-writes with a few guys. So please understand that I am (as always) pretty busy!! Hit me up with all your questions and I will do a Q+A at the end of the weekend, and I want to wish all of you a nice, fun, safe weekend.
Peace
Billy

Billy,
Good to have you back son! Will try to catch CFR tonight. Went through withdrawls last week not having a new CFR to listen to Monday at work! Of the dvds available on Netflix regarding the Sex Pistols, which do you suggest? Dont shoot me but, your recommendation will be my first introduction to them. Hate to admit that! Have a great weekend at all those parties and dinners. Niki

if you had 1 suggestion for someone picking up a guitar again after a long time, what would it be? (besides practicing of course)....emotional? physical? (anything for my fingers not to bleed?) mental? did you ever go thru a period where you weren't strapped to your guitar?

Niki, I'm not sure what Billy will say but I say "The filth and the fury". Fantastic documentary on the Pistols.
Geez alou Billy! You couldn't fit another thing in that schedule even if you greased it with WD40. But Elton's party? Snaaaaaaaazy! Big time baby! Take a picture of the dessert for us. They always have those FANCY desserts at those shindigs! Some of us have to live vicariously ya know! ;-)
I have a suggestion for the CF 5 years gig...NYC...Bowery Ballroom. 536 of your closest NYC friend. whatta say? (cut me some slack I haven't bugged you for a NYC CF show in at least a month).
Ok uestion and probably not one you can answer.....yet. But I know you said that CD will be playing some smaller gigs on the Ozzfest tour, but do you think NYC will be one of them? (again Bowery Ballroom, 536 of your closest NYC friends, just a suggestion) ;-)
Have a great (busy) weekend!!!

Robin,
Thanks for the suggestion, with it being my first viewing of the Sex Pistols, I want it to be a good one. I will Netflix it! I was in NYC for the first time a couple of years ago & totally LOVED it!!! I would love to go back & to see CF or CD there would be the icing on the cake! Everyone have a good weekend & enjoy the Oscars tomorrow. Niki

...and about those tix for the Bacardi event?
Do I try and call tonight during the radio show or something? That takes my geeky-ness to the next level I suppose. I will try to ring later.

Billy-
Thank you so much for answering my question about the open tunings. Someone suggested a drop D + half step down- and that's resonating with me nicely. I'll check out the G.
Any more info on the Miami Camp Freddy show? Will it be impossible to infiltrate? Are you going to give away any tickets? Please, please, Please? Just one. I'm small- I don't take up much space!
:-)

When I was a young child, my dad was in the Air Force and we lived in North Hampton for three years. I loved the fish and chips, do they still wrap them up in newspaper, and have you ever been to North Hampton?

I forgot to thank you for the post. Is that your wife in the photo with you?
I hope Mark Wahlberg wins best supporting actor for "The Departed"! Have fun at your party!

Billy,
Glad to see you back.
How is Mr. Beck doing? Havn't heard much from him lately. I'd love to see him tour. I met him and Terry Bozio at Sceam once. He chated with my brother and I for a little while. It was Very cool.
Hope you have or had fun,
Matt S.

Billy, (repeating my nice simple question, the type you see in mags like Q)
What are your top ten albums of all time? Okay, if you're strapped, top 5 would be cool too.
Hugs
Lisa

5 yr anniversary gig... sounds fantastic! Wherever you hold it, just give us enough time and I'm sure we'll be there! Enjoy the Oscar parties Billy!

I second Robin's Bowery idea, great venue! How about a bi-coastal 5 year birthday celebration for CF?
I am trying to get the Bacardi tix, NY to Miami isn't around the corner but I'll find a way if I get them.
GO Ryan Gosling, Alan Arkin, Abigail Breslin and Little Miss Sunshine!!

Good morning Billy! I have to join with many others in saying I'm loving the "A Life Less Ordinary" clips...would kill to see that on TV!
So...a few questions...what kind of new car did you get? Have you been watching Dirt? Did you ever start on The West Wing? Did you ever finish the last Harry Potter book...or, if not, have you accidentally found out about the shocking ending???
Have a beautiful day :)
