BACK FROM THE BRINK
Actually, there was no brink at all!! But I am back in LA ...... for one day. Back to unpack, re-pack, get a quick live All-New Camp Freddy Radio in, and then I'm off again for another week, and this time to the place in the desert for more of the same. But I am very happy to be doing the radio show tonight - feels like I haven't been there in ages. And Dave will be coming in as well, so the team is ON!! Obviously, its a pretty busy day, as I only got back from Hawaii late last night, and have tons to do before leaving tonight, but I wanted to let you know that a V-Blog will be up over Xmas. Jen got some great footage from the Shark Tank dive ...... ranks up there as one of the Top Five things I have EVER done. The picture of the Hammerhead shark above? ........ taken by me in the tank ..... and YES it WAS LOOKING AT ME like that!!!
And I LOVE the picture of me taking a picture of the Caribbean Reef Shark thats swimming VERY close to me, and I am oblivious to just how near it is. I was just so excited to be diving with so many sharks. The Tiger shark (which was too erratic to get a good picture of) was just over 10ft long, and let me tell you ....... that thing looks WAY bigger underwater. Especially when its swimming right at you and kinda looking at you like we look at a Big Mac with cheese when we are hungry. Absolutely amazing dive - just me and the guide in a tank FULL of sharks and rays for 45 minutes. Next stop? In a cage in South Africa with the Great White Sharks. Now that HAS to be the ultimate rush. Oh, and if you cant tell what the picture below is, lookb carefully for my tattooed arm feeding the Spotted Eagle Ray - amazing feeling as she gently grabs a handful of mussels from my hand, and lets you stroke her as she eats. With all this 'National Geographic' type blogging, I think I'll start cultivating a kind of Rock And Roll Discovery Channel image!!! Hmmmm ...... not a bad idea!! What the hell - you guys get it twice a year from me, and the rest of the time, its all guitars, music and Hollywood. So enjoy the change of pace!!!
Gonna go do all the last minute Christmas stuff, and I'll be on air at the usual time of 6.00pm LA time on Indie 103.1FM. Have a great weekend, and keep your eyes open for a full on V-Blog including answers to all your questions over the holidays. I have the footage, and will be editing it up while I am hanging out in the desert. The Camp Freddy New Years Eve show at Body English in Vegas (at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino) will be a great way to kick off 2007, so I will be resting up until we jump on the plane to do that show. But I am so greatful that I get to be onstage at midnight on New Years Eve, doing what I love to do best. Playing guitar VERY loudly!!! Happy Holidays Everyone.

Billy, Good Morning! Glad you and Jen made it back safely. Those are really awesome pics. I still think you are crazy though. I take it you will not be catching the Raiders/Chiefs game tonight. Oh well, I think both teams are pretty much out of the playoffs anyway. Enjoy the desert & Merry Christmas to you and Jen. NIKI

Christmas in the desert, at the resort, sounds wonderful!! I spent some time at a spa out there last month, and I see know what people are talking about...

Glad to have you back with no missing parts or pieces of your arms and/or legs. I'm sure it is exhilarating to be in a tank full of sharks. You wouldn't catch me doing it. I figure that is why they are in a tank and I am on dry land. I'll just be happy with watching you do it while I'm safe at my computer.
I'm looking forward to CFR tonight. It will be a delight to have you and Dave together.

I like the idea of the Rock and Roll Discovery Channel. Jack Osbourne had his own show on the Travel channel; why not you?

Glad to see you weren't the sharks main course! But great pictures, I can't wait to see the Vblog!
I was listening to you and Dave tonight while painting my kitchen (I'm pooped btw..). A friend of mine who was helping me paint and doesn't listen to CFR was cracking up because you two are always laughing. She said "Do they laugh like that for 3 hours??" Great show!

Looks like the next tatoo will have to be a Hammerhead shark.
Since your arms and hands afford you a living, are they insured? And if they are, don't put these pictures on your Christmas card to the Insurance company. ;-)

Two Questions: When did you get hooked on diving? Who inspired you to go for your first dive or was it something you wanted to do yourself? (I'm curious and will have to go read blog back-catalogue again won't I?! lol!)
And secondly - righty, come on, you started it - WHAT ARE THE OTHER FOUR THINGS IF THAT RANKS AS ONE OF YOUR TOP FIVE EXPERIENCES???!! You can't leave me dangling off the edge of the keyboard with a cyber carrot like that one, hey, Billy come back come back ... hello? It's dark in here...
