RANDOM THOUGHTS

Fewer dropped calls than any other network. Thats what my cellphone provider claims on 16 foot high billboards all over Los Angeles. Bullshit!!!! I don't understand how they can get away with that??!! My phone has been going CRAZY in the last few weeks - locking up, dropping calls, pretending its on when it isnt ...... and everyone else I know on the same network is experiencing the same stuff. Why am I writing this? I have no idea ..... I started to type and turned my phone on at the same time, and I have about 45 text messages from DAYS ago that just decided to appear on my phone today!! Incredible. But whatever - rant is over.

Onwards and upwards, dear fellow travellers! And as you might be able to tell, I am enjoying a quiet period right now, after the small flurry of activity recently. There are a few things on the horizon ...... it does look like Camp Freddy will do a Xmas Show this year, and it will be a public show. I cannot give you details yet, cos it isnt all locked in, but we want to do one, and a Charity show has presented itself which looks like it will work out. Keep it here for details.

We also appear to be hitting the studio on Friday, to track another song. Again, you will realize (if you have hung around here for any length of time) that in this business, you throw shit at the wall, and hope that some of it sticks. So just because we record something, doesnt mean it will come out. But we ARE intending to do this in time for Xmas. So lets just see how we do. For now, we need to record this particular song, and we are scheduled for Friday. Should be fun.

And Circus Diablo will be back with some news in a week or two. Hopefully we will be able to talk about the album release, and some touring plans. We are all taking a back seat right now and letting the business people do their thing. Fingers crossed we should be out doing shows immediately in the new year. Again - who knows with this game!!! I intend to keep myself busy as usual with different projects and creative outlets. Oh yeah, and also playing video games!!!

Paul - Glad you had a great time, mate. And glad you got to see Freddy play. Keep it real, and keep it here.

Katie - OCD? Me? Well, I never thought of it, but now you mentio.........I wonder how many stars there are in the sky? Ha!! You are probably right!! Although I love how you say that my accent is sexy, but Dave's the good looking one!!!!

Sherri and Terri - Velcome!!! Wow - love that you tune into CFR from over there. I will try and remember to dedicate a song for you girls this coming weekend. And glad you found the Morrison Blog and Family. Hope you stick around. Its a mellow hang. Enjoy.

Merc - The Japanese scroll tattoo on my back says "Scarred For Life" - that is, "indelibly marked" for life, and not "fearful"!!!

Billy - Fabulous name, my friend!! Welcome to our world!! Yeah - Def Leppard were incredible!! And one of these days, Joe will get up with us. Vivian already did a Camp Freddy show - was it the House Of Blues? Or The Key Club? Cant remember. Either way, those guys have standing invites to jam ..... if they ever get off the road!!

Sue - I will admit that I dont have to worry about getting hold of a PS3. But I have ordered a Sony Blu-Ray player for my home theater set up. The Playstation, however, will probably be a ...'perk'.... of the job.

Uncle Creepy - Yeah, baby!!! What a great question!! I actually shave around it - its been there so long, I kinda have the moves down now ...... a flick to the left, a graze across the underneath ..... no problem!!!

Carly - I LOVE that you posted the LA Bus timetable on my blog!!! Genius!!! Did anyone go to that Secret Machines show? How was it?

OK - thats all I have time for this morning. Enjoy Wendy's pics that I've put up here today. I have to get off and do an interview for ModernGuitars.Com - they are gonna have some audio conversations up on their site soon, and I'll be the first ..... I suppose you could say that I am the Guinea Pig. Hmm .... small, furry rodent-like creature ...... back soon.

Billy

Hi one and all and especially you Billy.

I have made it back. While my time in africa helping the people there was amazing (I was doing humanitarian work in the most desolete of places and conditions), it is always nice to be back home. Amazing how ones life can change in a year. I am still tring to catch up on the blog, but I just wanted to say "I'm back."

Also, a special shout out to my girl Jezzi.

Peace,
Julianna

To ahole Dixon:

It is, in fact, still quite illegal in the U.S. to commit libel. To bad we can't sue your dumb ass.

Posted by: Paul at October 26, 2006 07:21 PM

Hey Paul,

Thanx for the pix! Glad everything went so well for you! Ok, so I was thinking~~~if I would have just freaking called in sick to gd work 615 never, ever would have happened! (hahaha) (ie, I would have gone down with u and Wendy Bird and T.)So I have the gd ticket where my car was parked and the bloody address was 602 ANTON ST. PARK PLAZA!!!SCREAMING!!! 615!!

Damn, 5 parking structures? Really? I guess waking up at 6 am, working 9 hours, and driving 40 miles and rocking out just had me out of it~~~

(the attendant told me like 10 times it happens "all the time." Anyways... hahaha! Question, why the f**k didn't they know where to find 615 in the mf first place?

Posted by: Carly at October 27, 2006 08:48 AM

Hi Billy,

From what I have ready in previous posts, the majority of the CF shows are not for the general public and are, to quote you and Dave, 'corporate gigs'.

Can you please explain that a little more? What kind of 'corporations' are you playing for? I get this picture in my head that some company is having a Christmas party or a annual conference and they've booked CF to provide the entertainment. I have visions of suits and secretaries in the audience, not quite sure what to think of a bunch of rockers bashing out 'Now I Wanna Be Your Dog'. I'm reminded of that scene in Spinal Tap where they get booked to play at the airforce base. Help me out...it's gotta be more than that, right?

Thanks,

Daniel

Posted by: Daniel at October 27, 2006 07:55 PM

It started w/ Rockstar which =DN=SRL=TPC=CFR=BM=CD. Unbelieveable how one thing can introduce you to soooo much more. I have been more into music in the last 2 months than I have in years!!! Thanks for waking me up!!!

You're cracking me up tonight Billy. BTW.. can I have tickets for Oasis? lololol. Couldn't get through dammit.

OK>> I haven't seen Sopranos yet. Yeah... I know. DUDE, where have I been. I'm watching Dark Shadows - an old gothic soap opera from the 1960s & 70s... campy as all but brings back good memories. Vampires, Witches, Ghosts and baaaad acting. Great fun.

hey rob dixon. stop being a fucken dick. anyway. billy this weekend has been crazy. had some thing with this hot blonde. soo many girlss lately and so many parties tonight was an early night tho. by that way my cell phone sucks too i get 60 of the same text. and never get service anywhere

Posted by: alec from camp teddy at October 29, 2006 01:09 AM

Hey Billy! Loooonnnnggg time no post! But as I am sure that you are aware...life gets in the way sometimes...anyway...missed checking you out here and on CFR....I have your cell phone provider too and have sent the same message to a person 5 times (though I only actually sent it once!) and have received the same message 3 times! It's ridiculous that we actually pay good money for these screw ups! ;-)

Here's my question....a few weeks (maybe more than a month now) you played Stabbing Westward on CFR, I believe it was Save Yourself. Have you heard/seen Christopher Hall's new band the Dreaming? Apparently they have been playing only in LA for awhile and have only recently started doing shows in other states.

I don't know if they still are doing this, but they did not release anything on any label, choosing to do it themselves, and they send the tracks and cover art via email which you can download (for a limited time). Has the music industry become so muddied that people are being forced to release like this and not getting the wide spread recognition that they deserve? It's a sad state of affairs when CBGB's closes (and is possibly moving to Vegas!), NYC lost it's only rock station when Stern went terresterial, and Captiol does nothing to promote your friend's new project. What's happened? Why has rock been forced underground??

Thanks for all that you do Billy, even though I'm not always here, you know that my partner in crime, Peebs, keeps me well informed ;-)
