DIABLO AT THE VIPER

Tomorrow night. Midnight. The Viper Room on Sunset Blvd. Be there. Thats it - not much more to say!!! No, I'm just messing about, I have a LOT more to say as usual! But I do advise being at The Viper tomorrow night if you can. The bill is OWL (which is Chris Wyse's band - Chris is the current bass player of The Cult, as well as sometime Camp Freddy guest as well) and POETS AND PORNSTARS (100% rock and roll, people!!) with CIRCUS DIABLO hitting the stage at the witching hour (that'll be 12, midnight for those that are confused!!) Should be a lot of fun. I know that Dave will be doing CFR tomorrow, and it looks like I will be doing a phoner from the venue to give a few tickets away, because the soundcheck is bang in the middle of the radio show. I was intending to do both, but that doesnt look likely now. Either way, listen to CFR and win a ticket to tomorrows rock and roll extravaganza at The Viper!!!

Lets get to some questions. And welcome to all the new posters, emailers, lurkers and bloggers that seem to have found their way over here. We welcome you all to the Morrison family and hope you stay.

Lisa - I know its getting a little much for me when my body shuts down and I fall asleep in the middle of a conversation! You get the point - I just keep going till I physically cant anymore. Not the healthiest solution, but then again, neither is living in an earthquake zone, but I do that too!!

Silky - No, Dave has yet to convince me 100% on Nip/Tuck, but I will probably listen to him WAY too late and be digging the series four years from now! So I make a commitment right here and now, that when I am done with The Sopranos, I will begin the whole Nip/Tuck adventure. And I dont sing in the shower, but my favorite Cult track has to be either The Witch or Nirvana. Both put a huge grin on my face, and both were my favorites to play live.

Alec - How you doing my friend? Hang in there - we have ALL been through that shit..... and I promise you that its this kind of experience that counts when you are writing songs, being creative, and trying to make your mark. You will grow and gain strength, I promise.

Hj - Spotted!! Outside Tower Video? You are correct .... the place is going out of business, so I am stocking up on all the box sets I never got around to buying - ALIEN, BATMAN, X-MEN, EXORCIST ..... nice and cheap!! And why dont you lot start petitioning the other members of Camp Freddy for a public show ...... I'm down if we are all down!!! Its about time, I agree.

Samy - Whats shakin in Italy??!!! Glad you are around here and yes, I am 100% into the new series of LOST. I feel like some answers are due, and I also feel we are gonna get some this season. Either way, I am there each week, glued to the screen!!!! And Jenny? I feel your pain!! Petition the BBC or ITV or whoever ..... and DONT read the spoilers on the web!!

Terri - Besides Dave? (Cos you KNOW he cracks me up every time!!) .... hmm ..... I think that it would be a toss up between Robbie Williams (when he's on form, Rob is one funny guy!!) and our drummer, Jeremy. Jeremy will have you holding your sides with laughter in 20 secs ..... ALL DAY LONG!!! Learning how to play Paradise City with Ronnie Wood from The Stones could also be classed as fun in my world!!!

SugarTaste - I have no idea where that guitar went - I did all that metalwork with Colin, and have a few pics from when we were doing it, but none of the 100% finished thing. I do know it sold for a lot of money, and that I am proud that I was able to help.

Sophie - Welcome to the fold ..... and yes you are right. I completely spaced on Channel 5 in the UK. Although it had just started when I left. And again, I agree with you - its about time we got some of this Gig Action happening in the UK!!! Maybe 2007. Keep it here to find out.

Paul - I would hope that everything in my life would stay unchanged. I have a wonderful life, and no amount of 'spotlight' should change that. And I truly dont have a 'top three blags' for getting into shows. I either used to sneak in through the exit or walk through the front door, trying to look like I owned the place!! Thats it. Start a band - then you'll get in to a lot of places!!!

Leroy - the man you refer to as 'Paul' on the Leno show is, in fact, Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick. He wrote that song that we are playing .... and the cereal box guitar was custom made for him.

Max London - I moved to LA in 2000 after many years of coming back and forth between LA and London. Made the Stimulator album here, would always come here on vacation (I was never one for two weeks on the Costa Del Sol!!) and spent a few years getting loaded here before that. The Green Card? ...... lets just say that two years of paperwork, questions, meetings, lawyers, more paperwork ..... and tens of thousands of dollars make it a less than pleasurable experience!!!

Ylais - My whole DJ thing is that I actually play rock music. You know, stuff with guitars!! I dont play all that dance shit - and thats what makes it fun for me. ACDC, through U2 and Jesus Jones, to Jet and The Darkness. I spin the rock and roll, people!! Oh yeah - and HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!! Lets hear it for Lisa everyone!!!

Matt S - I have no idea whats happening tomorrow, let alone next friday!!! But I can tell you that the DJ will NOT be me!!! And that Dolly Parton will NOT be performing with us.

Cecillia - Thank you for your kind words. We had an absolute blast in Frisco, and it ranks as one of the top five Freddy shows in our books!!! Love Frisco - we'll be back anytime you want us.

Spencer - THAT is funny!!! So funny in fact that I wanna repeat it right here. This is what Spencer commented after my description of the Tenderloin district. ....... "So, you lot pulled off a huge rock show.... AND.... The 95 pounder pulled out three rocks! Haha"

Jezzi - We all play nice here, and I wanna keep it that way. But a blog is a blog, and that means freedom of speech. You'll go crazy trying to control faceless people on the other side of the globe!! So it is what it is - but either way it gets a LOT of traffic over there!!! Me? I'm happy with our small slice of the web.

Jay - your wish is my command. See the pics below - all taken from the INTO A CIRCLE days. I wasn't a well person back then. Being on tour and having the band lock me in a house in Aberdeen, Scotland, to stop me from flying down to London at 3am to score some drugs was a dubious sign that maybe I should get some help!!!! But alls well that ends well. Here I am in LA, living the life, and the singer of INTO A CIRCLE, Bee, now has a fantastically successful life in Asia - playing guitar with the band FUTON, as well as a career as a DJ. I have been in touch with Bee recently and I wanna give props and respect to him for being a stand up guy, and having the balls to do with his life what HE wants to do, and not what other people want. THAT is how we should ALL be living. CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT BEE's BAND, FUTON.

Thats kinda it from me. Last night I saw an amazing performance by Debbie Harry. She did an acoustic set at a T-Mobile party in Beverly Hills, and did all the Blondie hits up close and personal. She still has an amazing voice, and that 'certain something' that REAL stars have. She was electric. And tonight, the LEPPARD!!! hit the town. Def Leppard at The Hollywood Bowl. Check out the new album of covers - its REALLY good. I will be up there later, pouring sugar over anyone that will stand still, and looking for the rock of ages!!!! If you havent yet realized, I am starting to build Morrison TV over on YouTube, so hit the You Tube button at the top of this page and subscribe. Once I hit a decent amount of subscribers, I will start to produce original content that will ONLY be available over there, so spread the word and lets hit the YouTube/Morrison TV thing with a vengence. See you all after the madness of the Diablo show this weekend. Back on Sunday.

Peace

Billy

Hiya Billy:
First of all thank you for blogging, thanks for all of the pictures, the videos, the music and your words.
Now, I don't know if you know, but I have a little cable show out here in S.F. I feature artists in their acoustic encarnations. So anytime you find yourself if SF with a Saturday afternoon to kill you should stop by the studio so we can record you singing us some sweet songs, what say you? My info in on myspace.com/ceemoon and the show is called On the Tip of My Tongue.
Oh, and we're NOT in the tenderloin!
Abrazos,
Cecilia

I think it's so sad Tower is closing, it's such a landmark. At least we still have the one in Costa Mesa, for now.

Billy ~ holla if you need a t-shirt vendor. I can even wear mine to show everyone how good it can make them look! lol

So who else are we meeting at the Viper 2morrow nite besides Peebs' mates?

@Alec ~ Kate & I will make sure you & Wade are there in spirit mate.

Posted by: ozmerica at October 13, 2006 01:38 PM

Thanks Billy. That wasn't really the answer I was hoping for but I understand. You have an image to protect - punk rock and all...

It's just so hard because a lot of us feel like we are your true fans and these people attack us and hijack our names, and it would be nice to get some support from you guys. I'm mean really, all I've got in going in my life right now is simply putting as much of myself into you and Dave and the bands, supporting you guys, and it would be really nice once in a while to be validated for our time and devotion. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

Posted by: Jezebel at October 13, 2006 02:39 PM

HI!! Thank you for the birthday wishes Billy! Now I'm a very happy bouncy bunny.

ooo, and I just saw all the happy birthday posts in the last comments. thank you. bouncy bouncy.

Lisa, Happy Birthday.

Oz, good look trying to find my co-worker/friends tomorrow night! I didn't speak to them today to find out if they were really going.

Jezz, on Sept 17th Billy wrote in answer to Paul (the real Paul who does Billy's podcasts) "Paul - now THATS funny. "I was gonna stop smoking, but I'm not a quitter!!!" Ha!! And yeah - I would close this blog down if it got like that - I wanna be able to actually relate to all you guys."

So if anyone thinks they are gonna pull the same crap here like it is over there, Billy will be on top of it.

Have a great time tomorrow night at the Viper Room, of course once again I'll be there in spirit.

Hi everyone! what a surprise seeing you all here! So nice to bump into you again!

Have a smurfy day!!

Posted by: a smurf at October 14, 2006 03:42 AM

What time are we hitting the Viper? Sound check time? Sounds like 6? Can't wait!

JSS said he slipped and fell at the Bowl last night, but kept going. DAMN, I wished I had more money to see all the shows I wanted to see.

Posted by: Kate at October 14, 2006 01:28 PM

JSS did fall on his ass, slipped on the rain soaked stage, laid flat out. Got up, took his shoes off and played the rest of the show in his socks. And his rain soaked clingy white shirt was a bonus for me.

'Billy Morrison arrives at the stage door in a town car, straight from the airport. He gets out of the car, holding his Louis Vuitton sports bag, and wearing his new Henry Dwarte custom made leather coat. He's feeling pretty good after the short flight from Los Angeles. Suddenly, he feels a tap on his shoulder, and hears a voice quietly whispering ....... "Yo - hey brother - I gots me the shit here" ...... Morrison turns around, and stares into the crack smoke-filled eyes of an addict weighing about 95 pounds, covered in dirt, and holding his hand out with three rocks of cocaine lying in his filthy palms. ...."$25 dollars for all dem rocks, brother - you want?" ......

I see you bumped into Axl then!!!How is he these days? Hahaha! Only kidding. Haven't been on for a while, hope all is well. Looking at the video clip from your last entry, i was struck as to how much Slash hasn't changed, at all! from behind you may be forgiven for thinking you are in a time warp. Some people really change over a 15 year period, but not him it seems. Brings back memories of being at school and having "debates" over who was the sexiest, Axl or Slash, i was in camp Axl. Anyways, hope you all play great tonight, would loved to have been there but nevermind........i'll just have to wait till next year and watch the vids that get posted. Have a good one!!

Hi Billy,

Delurking... I'm curious, this may sound heavy, though I don't intend it to be, however, being a former addict, how do you handle others in the music scene who tend to drink alot or do drugs from time to time around you? Do you simply walk away from it? For instance, people like Zakk Wylde (as I know you're friends with the Osbournes), Vinnie Paul, and even Def Leppard are known to like having some drinks from time to time and can get a little silly with it every so often. Do you just accept it as part of what's in the industry? I have my own thoughts on it, but curious as to how you deal with it as some of that must be around you on a pretty regular basis.

Debbie Harry is great. She does this song with Luscious Jackson of all groups called "Fantastic Fabulous" that is kind of glam and campy, but I like it!

Seems like a happy schedule for you this week. Leppards' and Owls' and Circus', oh my...How can you go wrong with so much music around you? You can't!

Stay Vibrant,
Muse~

Kate and Lee, have fun for me...can't afford a ticket, not sure if I can win one, my luck seems to have run out in that respect

Break a leg, Morrison!

I've been bouncing back and forth on my decision all day today. I've been sick as a pup for 2 weeks, and I have to cave to my health rather than see the show tonight. And I hate that!!!

Billy, I am SO sorry I'm missing this. Kick ass for me. Back to my Theraflu...

Dear Mr Billy
Sorry that Jezzi has been so desperate and attempted to bring you into the great smurf debate. She can be so childish.

I think you're hot, Billy!
You're not racist are you? Cos I'm blue. lol

Peebs,
I think this is the most updated information.

Jezzi - We all play nice here, and I wanna keep it that way. But a blog is a blog, and that means freedom of speech. You'll go crazy trying to control faceless people on the other side of the globe!! Keep up the great work.

Got something insightful to say "smurfina"? Probably not, you usually don't.
You want to start shit here on Billy's blog? Got news for you, he has way more control on his blog and much respect for the people who visit.
So go ahead try your shit here. I'm guessing it really won't get you far.
Hey Billy try the email this person gave, bet it's not valid.

Someone posted a link over at 6767 which I believe descibes this kind of internet troll to a tee: http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/9499/ismwh7.jpg

See Billy unfortunately what you have here is an ass trying to carry shit from Dave's place over to your site. They don't care about you or Circus Diablo or Camp Freddy. I doubt they even care about themselves. Apparently they weren't hugged enough when they were children.

Anyway enough time wasted on them, I hope the gig at the Viper Room was ripping. I wonder if OZ found my friends there ;-) (if they ended up going I won't know till Tuesday)

Posted by: Robin (peebs) at October 15, 2006 07:46 PM

Hey Billy, just wanted to say that it was great to see you last night at the VIper Room. I can't wait to see you next time!

Posted by: abby at October 15, 2006 10:44 PM

Circus Diablo at the Viper Room rocked! You guys are such a great band Billy! I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Didn't meet your mates Peebs but did enjoy the nite with some other lovely peeps who also happened to win the bottle of JD & the booth! Really fun!!!

The 2hrs & 45 mins I spent on the freeway to get there was worth it,(took me 45mins to get home) but I would realy love to see CF on Fri if for no other reason than to experience what it's like to only have to drive 10mins to the concert!
