UPDATE: Last nights Camp Freddy Radio show is available as usual on the CFR Podcasts page of this site. However, if you want to automatically have the podcasts delivered to your I-Tunes every week, the easiest thing to do is subscribe to this blog by clicking the "Subscribe To I Tunes" button on the right. That way, the V-Blogs and Podcasts will appear straight away in your Podcasts folder in I-Tunes. Pretty nifty, right? And don't forget to leave a comment on I-Tunes for me. Alternatively you can CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO THE PODCAST.
Thought I would check in here today, as its Friday .... the end of the week, the beginning of the weekend, the two days of R+R that we all deserve. Except I don't understand how it works in LA - Hollywood in particular. It really does seem like the weekend doesn't exist. I mean, the concept of two days off, from the hard work of the week doesn't apply around here. You can find yourself (as I did) attending huge red carpet blowout openings and parties on a Wednesday and a Thursday, and then working (again, like I often do) on a Saturday night, or maybe an early Sunday morning call time. I think thats what I really love about the business - its that there are no set hours, that the weekend really doesn't exist, that it can be a 22 hour work day on a Sunday, followed by three days of nothing. Kinda keeps me on my toes.
Wednesday was a Stuff Magazine party on the roof of the Arclight on Sunset Blvd. A great party, with the Eagles Of Death Metal performing on the rooftop at midnight, and all the wonderful people swanning around being ..... well, wonderful!! Me? Jen and I found the oldschool video games, and she played Tetris, while I spent WAY too long on the old TRON video game - I used to kill it back then ..... not so hot these days! I couldnt remember all the tricks, but it was crazy to play that game again. Lots of food, lots of friends ..... good times.
Then the next night (last night) was the grand opening of the new Brent Bolthouse space in Hollywood. Its called Area, its absolutely amazing, and as usual (probably because he manages camp Freddy and loves us!!) Brent took really great care of us, made sure we all had a good table, and all in all, it was a very cool night out. The beautiful people were again out in full force (I have to figure out how most of these people do it - I mean they are at an event EVERY night of the week!! When do they have time to do anything???) - and as usual, they were all extremely beautiful, dahling!!!! Thanks Brent for a great night and congrats on a fucking awesome new spot. I shall be attending again, sir!
Dont forget - next Thursday sees Camp Freddy performing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno - and we can promise you a surprise or two. My feeling is that you really should tune in and check it out - you never know what you might see. And also, the Circus Diablo show at The Viper Room is getting VERY full. If you havent got your tickets yet, I STRONGLY advise that you do so by clicking on the link below. The club is very small, and we are expecting a very intimate evening. The Bangkok 5 are again with us, so get there early, and catch them too - trust me, they ROCK!! CLICK HERE FOR CIRCUS DIABLO TICKETS. Oh yeah - and please excuse the gratuitous pics today. The Camp Freddy one has appeared here already a couple of times, but just so you know ...... McGrath, Navarro, DeMartini, Chaney, Sorum..... and Morrison - HELL YEAH!!!! And the one of me and Jennifer? Well, excuse me!! She's my wife, I love her, and its my blog!!!!
John - Yes, I listen to Steve whenever I can. Of course it should be syndicated!! So should Camp Freddy Radio. They are both VERY inovative radio shows - but what can you do? People like to play it safe sometimes. And yes - Jonesy is joining us in Frisco.
Peebs - Well..... I would say that considering I have four websites, the MySpace CD profile, and five computers running at all times in my house, it would be safe to say that the virtual medium is something that interests me!! The Morrison Media Network is ready and waiting for the right investor to come along and donate a few hundred thousand to the cause!!!
Wingman - No, my nose wasn't really itchy. I was scratching it for dramatic effect. ?? !!
SonicGeisha - I KNOW!!! Someone who reads this blog regularly MUST know Adam, and NEEDS to drop him a hint. Circus Diablo's first internet release was Ants Invasion, and Navarro and Morrison are HUGE Ant fans. What do we need to do here? I mean, let me go on record RIGHT NOW - this is an OFFICAL invite to Adam, to join Camp Freddy onstage at ANY show. We will fly him out here, and take care of things. Someone prove that the web is that powerful and lets get Adam AND Marco on a plane over to LA to play with Freddy.
Digger - Ha!! Love the Keith video. And I would say that all self-respecting rockers have pulled that one at least once. I know I have busted that move once or twice myself.
OK folks - I just wanted to post and let you all know I am still here, still enjoying life, and still smoke-free. Now THAT is pretty cool. I mean, I have stopped a few things in my life, and changed shit up more than once, but the cigarette thing? That has been a really tough one. But so far so good. Three weeks and counting. We'll see - the big test is doing a show, and the Camp Freddy weekend next week of Leno and Frisco will be the telling time for me. Until next time, dont forget that tomorrow is an all-new CFR with Dave and myself. Tune in at 6.00pm on Indie 103.1FM, or check it out online at www.indie1031.fm. See ya.
Billy

You hould post more pic's of you and your lovely wife.
I saw a few lovely pictures of you and Jenn on wireimage oh and a few of you and your other girlfriend...Dave ;-)
I wouldn't miss Leno unless I was unfortunately in a coma. Even then I would make sure the nurses have it on NBC at 11:30 "Girl awakes from coma after hearing "Camp Freddy" perform "Surrender"...news at 11"
BELIEVE me dude, if I had the scratch we'd get that bad boy moving. Because using the internet as a unregulated TV and radio medium is awesome! Did you catch Dave on Tom Greens show yesterday (if not it's in rotation on Tom's site). As I posted on Dave's blog comments by Tom having a studio set up (like a talk show) in his livingroom is a little too "Rubert Pupkin"ish for me. A little strange. I expected him to yell out "Maaaaaa I'm doin a show hea" (al la Robert DeNiro) any minute. I think Dave's idea of buying a loft just for that purpose is a better idea.
So in closing I am going out and buying a lottery ticket ;-) Expect the check in the mail!

Hi Billy
I've just checked out your site for the first time after listening to CFR a couple of times ( and yes I'm another one who got here from 6767 and only went there because of the rocktar thing). Nothing wrong with being a quitter - the longer you stop smoking for, the sillier the idea of breathing smoke in and out of your mouth several times a day seems. Anyhow good luck with it and I'm hoping to catch the next show. Have you found Stuart Goddard yet? Laters.

am doing something I've not done yet - reading your archive posts & ran across a name I recognized. Ryan Starr 1/5/2005. it sounded like you were working with him on something. interesting? same guy from rockstar??? do you remember it? cool - i knew he had been trying but did you remember that you rubbed elbows?? way cool!

Hi Billy,
How's it hanging?
Just got back form following Billy D, Ian A and the boys around the uk for The Cult tour. Awesome, every night! Brixton and Glasgow were the highlights!! Ian was on magical form at Brixton, and Billy D played on thru what seemed horrendous technical problems with his moniters in Glasgow. even played a couple of different tracks at Glasgow.(Star & Nirvana). When you bringing the Dialbo boys to the UK? something like the 100 club would be superb or king tuts in Glasgow? doing well with the cigs, i quit 2 years ago and feel so much better for it, i can run for 2 minutes on the football park rather than 1!

Don't think I've ever seen a photo before of your wife. Don't know why you haven't posted more pics to show her off! Ya lucky bastard...she's a cutie :) Is she also English or did you meet once you landed in America? And refresh my memory, she's studying law or something? Hot and smart...the natural double :)
Onto a music question. Did you ever get into the band 'The Gofathers'? I was listening to 'Unreal World' the other day, humming along to some cool riffs and seeing as they were English and quite good at the guitar thang I figured they might have been the kinda band you would have been into.
Keep off those smokes my man - they'll stunt yer growth!

Ummm...that should be 'Godfathers', not 'Gofathers'.

Hey Billy ,
Tell Duffy I will see him In Atlanta Nov. 1 with The Cult! you need to come with.
Cingrats on being smoke free for that long.
Much Luv

Hey Billy, Adam was signing his book at the new Waterstones in Manchester a couple of weeks ago. He looked well, just a bit overawed at all the people who turned out. Couldn't stand in line to get a book signed but took some pics. Maybe he'll do a US book tour?
Have to say I did not recognise your wife in that pic. She seems to look much younger than I recall from some of the pics you have put up. Hope that doesn't sound like 'usually she looks old' - maybe your love is natures fountain of youth, aah enough of the Hallmark card sentiment. Keep it tight and stay frosty.

Billy, did Camp Freddy ever entertain the idea of covering Low Budget by the Kinks? I was listening to One for the Road on my way to work today, and thinking that this would be PERFECT for CF--great guitar in it, with you on vocals. :)
Seriously, anyone who doesn’t have this album should get it. I’ve had it since 7th grade (um…1980/81—well that was vinyl and this is CD but…) and it’s held up remarkably well. The Kinks don’t get enough credit here in the US in my opinion. Funny how now when I listen to it I hear the punk leanings of the band, I never really got that when I was a kid! Guess it's because, except for the Sex Pistols, I was more a Zep/Floyd/Doors kinda girl at that point.
Anyway, have a great day, all!
Love,
Sue

Billy,
Here's a link to some really good inexpensive templates for ecommerce sites. This should help Circus Diablo with its merchandise.

Good day Billy ~ first of all, I am again truly inspired by your success not smoking; it's my bane, but you really have motivated me to just fucking do it!
I've taken up singing in the last couple of years but never had any coaching or training. I know you're working hard on your cords, so can you tell me what you do, on a daily basis and while warming up? What precautions do you take? Do certain things really work for you to help strengthen your vox? Things you avoid? What do you do to recoup when you've gone beyond your limits? What kind of breathing excercises do you do? The age of 43 (when the physical really begins to take a dive) is a tough time to start, but I've noticed improvement and want to continue. I sing similar material to yours (hard rockin voice killer stuff) and it's rough...somehow you make it look easy, but as you've said, it's tougher than it looks.
Thanks again too, for the weblogs and v-blogs...I love 'em.

Ok Billy...
Blabbermouth blabbed the "surprise" on Leno.
"VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash and CHEAP TRICK's Rick Nielsen will join CAMP FREDDY — the Los Angeles-based "jam" group featuring guitarists Dave Navarro (ex-JANE'S ADDICTION, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) and Billy Morrison (ex-THE CULT bassist, current CIRCUS DIABLO vocalist) alongside VELVET REVOLVER members Matt Sorum (drums) and Scott Weiland (vocals) — to perform their version of CHEAP TRICK's "Surrender" on NBC-TV's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Thursday, October 5 at 11:35 p.m. EST. This will be CAMP FREDDY's first television appearance since "The Showbiz Show with David Spade" on Comedy Central in late June."
The bastards. They ruined the surprise.

You 2 are so good together! Really beautiful pic. there Billy. :) Hope you are doing well~
That show was brilliant last Sat. It was so much fun, as I was laughing and rock'n out at the same time. Dave's google song and all the madness, I adored it~~
Here is a highlight for me..."You guys make People (etc) look like the Library of Congress!"
....and then her gasp!! hahaha too much fun.
....fuc*ing hilarious!

Hi Billy,
Finally thought would post a hello. It's a lot calmer here than Dave's site lately. Love the CFR podcasts, as am still over the pond back in the UK sending some nice Autumn weather for you! Well done for giving up the smokes - it does get easier, actually that's a lie - but you get used to it.
Hope you guys get hold of Adam Ant and Marco, what an amazing line up that will be.
