PREMIER NIGHT

EXTRA: CHECK OUT THE VIDEO. Thanks to Paul, we can now all share in this wonderful video. I think its absolutely awesome!! Whoever she is should be contacting Camp Freddy for a job!!!!!

Well, that was a first. The first time I actually attended a movie premier that I actually had something to do with!!! I mean, a real five star Hollywood premier. I know that I attended the Tripping Forward thing and that was just as cool, cos I was actually in that film. But last night was at the world famous Manns Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Blvd, with the whole nine yards going on outside. Barricades, screaming kids looking for Jessica to arrive, Limo's, sunglasses after dark, air kisses on both cheeks ..... all rather wonderful darling!! It was a little much actually! Donovan and I stayed out of the way quite a bit and watched the proceedings with much amusement. It was nice to be invited however, and the movie really is very funny! The soundtrack album (hard copy in the stores and digital version online) is now available, and has both Surrender and the cover of Twentieth Century Boy on it. You know what to do.......

Beth - Talking of Tripping Forward, I think that it will be released next year. As far as I can tell, they are doing all the Film Festivals this year (its doing really well, winning Best Of Fest at Calgary, and now entered into a bunch more) and then after all that, they throw it out for release. I dont understand how it all works, but they'll tell me when it gets a general release. And then I will tell you. And the cigarette thing has been pretty easy - not chewing on any weird substances, or wearing 18 patches at once. I basically didnt light up one morning .... and carried on not lighting up.

Glad you all seem to like the new MySpace track. Its pretty storming for a 'straight off the board' live mix. I was happy with it, so we figured we would share it with everyone. The MySpace page is looking good (thanks Chris!!) and we are looking forward to getting into rehearsals when Billy gets back, and getting onto the stage again at The Viper.

I'm going to pop out tonight to catch a couple of shows by some friends bands. First stop will be The House Of Anything But Blues, to see Cisco and Alex in Whitestarr, doing their southern rock thing. And then its over to Boardners on Cherokee to watch my friend Rich and his band, Mighty Six Ninety. They are a MySpace band to watch and I advise you strongly to 'catch em now'. And thats it. I would imagine another V-Blog is in order soon. So here's what we'll do. Get your questions in, and I will save em all up and do a Q+A V-Blog at the weekend. Seems like a good idea ..... so have fun, take care, be nice and in the immortal words of The Chiefs Of Relief ....."I'll meet you at the weekend".

Peace

Billy

Were you and Dono the only 2 CF members at the premier?
I would think for sure that one or 2 of the other guys would be up for it.

All the best!

Dennis I did see pictures of Scott (and Mary) doing the Red Carpet for the premier.

Ok question:
Have you found going from playing guitar and doing backing vocals to being the man in the spotlight and singing lead a difficult transition?

have a good one Billy!

I am so happy to have seen your growth from the beginning of the buzz back in '04 (CFR and Doheny) until present....it just fucking RAWKS!!!

So GREAT to know you're still a smoke free zone Billy - well done!
Thanx for sharing the new song - love it!

As an Iggy fan, I thought you might appreciate this...

This show, Countdown, was the religion of a generation in Oz back in the day & nobody knew what to make of Iggy.
At the time it was REALLY controversial. He spits on the audience & puts the mic down his pants & to top it all off ..."OMG - he's miming the song!!!" lol (Lip-syncing wasn't a known term back then)
Everyone did it but nobody copped to it. A good performance was where you couldn't tell the performance wasn't live.
Iggy outraged parents & made the evening news with this performance.
Ahhhh, good times, good times! lol

When CF plays Surrender for the Leno show will Scott or Dono perform the song, or will they share the lead vocals?

Posted by: Beth at September 21, 2006 05:27 PM

Ozamerica...thanks for putting the link to Iggy's Countdown performance. I remember seeing that when it first aired but hadn't seen it since. Hilarious to look at the 13 year old girls who don't quite know what to make of what's going on...glory days!

Hey Billy - I just picked a copy of The Great Rock N' Roll Swindle on DVD. I've had this on VHS for ages but the DVD was cheap so decided to upgrade. Being the Pistols man that you are, what's your opinion of this movie? It's a bit uneven for my liking...it's OK but not great. I quite the 3 songs that Sid does...great performance...plus the title track with the guest singers is OK too.

Hiya Billy!
I'm feeling a little better. Actually, went out and walked around town today, and I could breathe even though it was hot and humid.
How's it going your end?

Do you have any way to see the new series of Extras?
The episode with David Bowie in was aired last night, and it was brilliant. I was squealing at the end and laughing at the same time. You've got to see it!

Love and hugs

me again, replying to other posts. the Great RnR Swindle..god how I loathe the song My Way. Hate it no matter who does it. And I mean hate. When I first heard Sid slaughter that song, I thought it was right on, and really funny. Now I hate his version too. God I hate that song. Thinking about it is making me irritated.

Posted by: Lisa at September 22, 2006 06:44 AM

hee hee Dave just posted it-as I posted to Dave I could SWEAR (but don't hold me to it) that someone posted the link at the VR board and said it was one of the Suicide Girls.

Check with them.

2 questions for your weekend Q & A.

Did you hear that Starbucks are raising their prices by 5 cents beginning in Oct. ?

And, my editor and I were talking the other day about deadlines and how some people thrive on the last minute rush of needing to get it done and others who like things done early (me). You should have seen me crumble in the face of nearly blowing my deadline.

With all of your projects you must have dozens of deadlines are you a get it done type or do you thrive on the pressure?

GREAT CFR last night, I downloaded the podcast to hear the first half (got home in time for the second half). you guys....crack me up...

Yesterday MB and I saw "American Hardcore" a documentary about the 80's Hardcore Punk movement in America at the Angelika. OC/LA, DC, NYC, Boston..Well MB was all psyched because Duff McKagan was interviewed in it....YEA for about 3 seconds!LOL Seriously, he was interviewed for 3 seconds and he talked about Henry Rollins. Ahhhhhhh Henry, if I married Henry Rollins we could be the John and Yoko of the Millenium. A very angry and pissed off John and Yoko. If you ever see him around tell him "boy have I got a girl for you..."
BUT if it comes out on DVD (it was making it's way across the country and it was already shown in LA) definitely netflix it!

Posted by: Robin (peebs) at September 24, 2006 08:14 AM

I'm just pissed off that you aren't getting me to dance.

Posted by: ylais at September 24, 2006 08:37 AM

Just curious, when you saw yourself in tripping Forward, did youu find yourself staring at the faces of the audience to see their reaction?
If it was me (fat chance) I believe I Would
