FEELS LIKE A HANGOVER

Its been a little while since I had a drink, but this morning I feel 100% hung over!!! My body aches, my head is throbbing in a very big way, and my eyes will not focus on anything!! Last nights Freddy show was completely off the hook. One of the best shows we have ever done. I don't really know what it was - the choice of guests, the mood between us all, the audience ..... not really sure. All I know is we all had an amazing time, played really well, and the House Of Blues on Sunset was jumping last night. I'll have the full set list put up on the Camp Freddy site with a complete list of guests, but highlights were Robby Krieger from The Doors playing Roadhouse Blues with us (that guy is an amazing player, and lets face it - he pretty much invented all this 'Sunset Strip' scene ..... a real pleasure and an honor to have played with him).

Also, Cypress Hill and Slash just completely tearing up Rock Superstar and Paradise City, and a fucking amazing version of ACDC's Highway To Hell, with Billy Duffy and Slash guesting on guitars and The Panic Channel's Steve Issacs on vocals. I have to tell you that Steve just CRUSHED the song - I could not believe how amazing he was singing that track - and the audience were screaming the chorus along with him, making for one of the most memorable Camp Freddy moments ever. Its a pretty special band that we have created and I am very proud to be part of some incredible rock and roll history moments. You don't see this shit very often, and I honestly believe that the reson we are in our 5th year of existance is because of the attitude of the players. Everyone is a team player, there are no egos at a CF show, and I think that everyone involved always goes home with a smile on their face. THAT is how its meant to be.

I am too wasted this morning to type much more, but thank you SO very much to the LA chapter of the Diablo Street Team, who were out last night flyering for us. You know who you are, and you are doing a fantastic job. To be onstage at a Camp Freddy gig and have a Circus Diablo flyer come tumbling over the barricade onto the stage in front of you is a VERY cool thing!!!! Great to see a few friendly faces at the front (see .... I TOLD you that you could get in if you tried!) and thanks to everyone who attended the capacity show last night. A great evening, absolutely awesome to be back onstage with my Freddy brothers, and here's to many more like that one.

I am off to nurse my headache - maybe a couple of hours of shooting at the range will blast it out of me!!! Enjoy the pics, courtesy of our good friend, Todd Newman. More to come when I feel a little better. I know I have promised V Blogs, more dates, more info on stuff - thats why I dont like to say too much about things until they are FOR SURE. When I can give you details I will - but for now ...... where's that Starbucks and a pot of Asprin???

Peace

Billy

Damn sound absolutely amazing. Too bad I was feeling like shit to try to get in this time.

Jezzi hope you were one of the friendly faces up front.

Sadly a murder took place outside the HoB last Thurs nite. This led security for last nite to be, let's just say re-god-damn-diculous!
You were NOT getting in without a laminate or ESPN tattooed on your forehead.
A Circus Diablo flyer (or 200), however appreciated, was not enuf.
Fortunately, thanx to a (stay with me here) friend's dad's friend's wife's Stokie blokie client...I GOT IN!!!!!

WHAT A FUCKIN AMAZING SHOW!!!!!!

I think it was the best Camp Freddy I've seen. They rocked from the start & just kept going. Seemed to me Dave was a bit more agro & not as jokey as usual & this affected the stage by everyone just playing full out the whole nite.
There was actually space to move in the crowd - no pushing or squashing so everyone had room to rock - excellent!

Steve Isaacs & Billy Duffy - She Sells Sanctuary - Tore It UP!!!!
Mark McGrath is just a happy puppy on stage with CF lol
They all seemed to have a 'this is surreal' flash when Robby Krieger came out to play. "Wow, I'm playing Roadhouse Blues with Robby Krieger" on most all their faces. A GREAT moment!
Cypress Hill brought the house down with Paradise City - finally the place got really LOUD!!!
Billy has become a full on lead singer since I saw them last - fantastic! He's not just a guitarist anymore! 'I Just Wanna be Your Dog' was the BEST EVER!!! Billy YOU RAWKED!!!!

What an absolute gift last nite was for me - thanx to all who made it happen...a lot of karmic wheels were burning up on my behalf!

Missed all of you who couldn't make it but you missed more.

Billy, once again, thanx for doing what you do xx

All good things come to those who follow Billy's light!

love to all...I'll see you on the 25th!

Glad that you westies all had a good time...and it appears that us easties missed the best CF show in the history of the world!

BILLY!!!!!!! When is CF coming east???

I'm telling you....you NEED to have your own mini tour...INCESTUOUS GROOVES! Slunt, The Xs, Circus Diablo, The Panic Channel, Velvet Revolver, and of course the headliner...CAMP FREDDY! (Everyone would play twice....Brett three times and Donovan once...but it evens out in the end)......and if you do that...it better be on the east coast or a venue that I can get to! (NOT from September 14,2006 to September 22, 2006...i am on trial that week!)

Work on that headache Billy and give us the update...we are DYING for more photos but will be content with the few that you have graciously posted!

THANKS!

I just opened a flickr with a few pics from last nite.
*Be warned* - cameras were being 'valeted' so these pics were taken with my crappy phone.

Not all of us west coasters got in - just wanted to make that clear! (or us east coasters turned west coasters, for that matter)

I'm very sad that I missed this one, sounds like it was incredible.

East Coast Love??? At least they have played NYC Before. C'mon Billy, Seattle needs a little CF love.

Personally I think that MB's Idea of "INCESTUOUS GROOVES" is a grand idea!!! C'mon Billy, Make it so...
