MIDWEEK IN THE CHURCH
Morning! I'm back again (although it seems that people have gotten a little bored around here and started to visit elsewhere!! Dont blame you lot - its been pretty quiet recently) and I figured I would check in briefly before todays all day rehearsal. Duffy and Ricky rehearsed with me yesterday which was a lot of fun and went really well. Just figuring out all the guitar parts, who's gonna do what bit and when etc. I'm looking forward to being a full band today and bashing out the songs with all the different drummers. Keep em crossed we find our guy. We decided on a basic set list, which includes a nice variety of stuff - a bunch of tracks from the album, a cover or two, and maybe even an acoustic song somewhere in there. We'll start to get it all together today. The actual routing for the August shows will be known this week, so my plan is to go live with the new version of the site next week, with the dates announced fully and some V-Blogs and some video and pics from the work we do this week. Sounds like a plan to me.
Also, seems like Freddy might be taking a trip to Vegas very soon. Got the word yesterday about a show and of course, I will let you know the details when I can. The new Camp Freddy site will have all the details - if there are any to be had!!
Todays pictures were shot by a team of guys in LA called The Social Trust. Very cool guys, they run a huge space downtown and were the ones that shot the Drifter pics a few weeks ago. They are the same guys that will be shooting the Circus Diablo line up later this week. From the looks of these shots, I think they'll do a great job.
No answers to any questions ..... cos there aren't any questions! I think I must have bored everyone stupid and created a mass exodus to parts unknown!!! Never mind. I have said before that I do this blog for cathartic reasons. I feel a little lighter and a little less burdened when I waffle on mindlessly in the mornings. I hope you guys have a great week, and I will be working hard behind the scenes to get all that Diablo stuff happening for Version 2.0. CFR will be live again this week, so no doubt I will post on Saturday before we go in. We REALLY need to get a chat room going here so that we can do band visits and CFR Saturday chats. Oh God .... yet another thing to cope with .... although thanks to Paul, Jay and Rik, we didn't do too badly with the Podcast situation and the Forum. Hmmm - think I'll pop over there and see whats occuring. Peace.
Billy

I'm right here, dear Billy!!! Just been feeling all morose and bitter lately, but things are looking up!!
Well, so here's a question, what about a Circus Diablo street team? I want to be an official Diablette, haha!! Stickers, flyers, t-shirts, chalk symbols?
Have you checked out the Getty Villa? I hear they have a two month wait list, but that never stopped the likes of us, did it?
ok, off I go, my cherubs are 'graduating' next Friday..on to the world of middle school...and my boy comes home next week!!!
jezzi(love to all!!)

Never a dull moment with you and DN.
I visit your site and 6767.com every weekday and look forward to reading about what's next in your rock n roll lives.
I need to see Camp Freddy live someday......someday..........

Hey Billy! 1/2 of your New Yoik Diablettes here! How could we EVER abandon you! But as with you, life sometimes gets in the way of internet time, work, personal, commitments, my life is a whirlwind right now that shows no signs of stopping! But I wouldn't have it any other way!
And as for the questions, we have been posting over on the Community...and I guess we don't want you to think that we are the nosiest lot in the world! ;-)
Here's one for you...what is the last book that you read? ;-)
Have a great one and PLEASE come to NYC soon...we miss you! ;-)

Nice pics Billy! I've got questions...although I sometimes wonder if you get bored with all the questions...guess not! So, here's what's on my mind today:
1) Have your folks left? What was the hi-light of their visit with you this time?
2) Did you ever finish Harry Potter??? Do you know what happens at the end...have you at least heard/read spoilers???? I've been dying to know what you think about it!
3) Have you started watching The West Wing yet??? Your thoughts...
4) Still using your Flavia??? What's your favorite flavor/beverage??? I have to thank you so much for showing us yours...I got one and absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!
OK...enough for now...sorry they aren't "music related" but, those have all been asked to death!
Have a great day, Billy!

Ah Billy, we'd never leave you, and more than understand how busy it gets for you.
Soooo... Lost Wages show coming up eh? YES! Road trip! I might be kinder to myself and fly this time (provided it's one that we can get into without selling our first borns).
And the new drummer trials commence. Hiring 10001 scantily clad vixens to do the dance o' drums so you find the right one!

WEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!
My 1st time seeing him in a full concert...am I exited or what!!!!!!

Billy,
You mentioned hammering out the Diablo setlist and I was wondering how that actually works. Does the band address a group of tunes and slot them accordingly or do you guys submit separate lists and work from there etc? Also, you mentioned a possible accoustic tune as well, do you find it hard to recapture momentum in a live environment after slowing it down?
Thanks,
Jay

BILLY! OMG we would never ever abandon you! It's summertime, the weather is getting nice...people get involved in stuff!
Come on as the other half of the "NY Diablettes" I got plenty of homegrown "street team" type CD info to be passing around! As soon as I get more info from you to push out there!...gee I wonder how much is it to rent skywriters over the beach....;-)
We do have to revive the caption contest over at the community. We have been neglecting that! Plus it makes me laugh!
But never you!
"We REALLY need to get a chat room going here so that we can do band visits and CFR Saturday chats" YES! YES! AND YES!!!!
I have a question-you talked about your Parents coming from Africa to visit you...have you gone to Africa to visit them? I bet it's beautiful there.

I think I asked you a question, but if you don't want to answer or don't have an answer, that's OK.

Boo! Been here, lurking, not posting.... but still love ya!
Posted by: Junebug at June 14, 2006 01:24 PM
Well I was going to ask a question but that it was too trivial. you mentioned Matt didn't like to be seen in the v-blog cos he wasn't in an ironed shirt.
With such a hectic schedule do you do your own ironing? I don't know I just have this weird interest in rocks stars standing around ironing.
I spent two hours the other night ironing which is cool as I saw the finale of Prison Break, have you been sucked into that series Billy? I had two hours of constant adrenaline rush, I recommend.

Hugs To Jezzi for being down and to Lisa for enduring the flu.
YES to a street team ! That would be fun. I put the Circus Diablo banners on my myspace.
YES ! I wish we would get a chat here, I would love to join in . I don't go to chat on Dave's because I don't want to bust in on their's and I don't really "know" them.
Billy I think it is pretty cool that your parents live in Zimbawe.
You and Matt right about the new Superman .
Much Luv, Terri

Billy, sorry mate I didn't leave I just was sick in hospital for a while with some heart problems but all is good now, just got to take it easy. I do have one question for you though if you dont mind answering, next april we are planning a trip to LA for a week, then onto Vegas for a week then back to Hawaii for a week on the way home. Being a local that im sure has stayed at a few hotels in all those places, where would you advise that we try and stay? I have heard that the Mondrian in LA and The Hotel in vegas are good. Any truth to that?

Hey Billy,
FYI...I know someone who knows someone..blah blah blah:) and all I know is that it doesn't take place in China, so one must assume that some how Jack gets off the ship before it gets too far? That's all I got!
Take care,

Ok..here's my question, rather request. Ok...Grovelling.
Several friends of mine are coming to Los Angeles last week of September, first week October. One's from Romania, another from Berlin, another from Detroit and another from New York. Any remote, slight (grovel grovel grovel) chance of either a Circus Diablo or Camp Freddy show around that time?
(grovel grovel grovel)...
