FINGERS IN PIES
That seems to be me this week. Fingers in pies. I have had busy days, filled with various different appointments and jobs. Filming some footage for a project, rehearsing guitar parts for the Diablo auditions next week, listening to a pitch about another project, looking at computer screens while updating sites, editing video and working on the acoustic song. Throw in a mixture of Pilates, accountants and the odd chiropractor appointment and you get a good visual of the week so far. Today, Ricky and I are headed into the rehearsal studio to get amps and sounds sorted out for Circus Diablo, and I will be popping out tonight to see Kid Rock do his thing. It'll be nice to strap a guitar on and turn it up for a while today and even nicer to get the rest of the Circus Diablo line up sorted out next week.
I gotta say that the whole LOST repeat thing is driving me nuts!! Last night was another 'compilation' episode, recapping the past two seasons, and answering nothing. And then they announce four 'all new' episodes starting next week. FOUR? How about running the whole season and getting us some answers? Dave said it best when he said that even the writers have no idea whats going on!! INVASION, however, is a different story. It gets better every week (apart from the really bad sets and green screen filming!) and last nights was no exception. I also checked out Get Rich Or Die Tryin' courtesy of the ubiquitous Netflix service. My review?..... don't bother.
Jillianne - Open Water Certification is fairly simple. An afternoon in the pool, followed by four real dives, and you're good to go. Advanced (which I just got) is 5 speciality dives, which need to include a Deep Dive, a Navigation Dive, and three others of your choice. I did a Wreck Dive, a Boat Dive and a DPV Dive (diver propulsion vehicle - the 007 device!!).
Peebs/Scott - Smoking is only allowed on that boat on the top deck. I, of course, just HAVE to try and break the rule!! Hence the picture for today. Taken on a recent Camp Freddy trip, I just HAD to go BEHIND the desk. Just HAD to figure out how the computer worked!!! Just HAD to get caught messing around about 30 seconds after the pic was taken!!! Although I look good behind that desk - maybe I have a new career ahead of me??!!
DaveC - A chatroom would be cool, right? When I get time, I'll add one. Wont be until after my vacation though - got too much going on as it is.
Mary - Good question. I think there would be ways that the web could backfire on an artist and have a negative effect....but its 7.00am and my brain doesnt work so good right now!! One thing that springs to mind is being misquoted on blogs such as this, and having your work copied and pasted incorrectly on a bunch of other sites.
Kate - Well, I try and actually DO the things I want to do.....I have a 'drive a Nascar' thing booked for the summer, I dive, I shoot ..... maybe the whole space shuttle thing would be fun. As for adrenaline sports, I'm not really a 'sport' guy (even though diving and shooting are both recognized as sports) and jumping out of a perfectly good airplane does NOT appeal to me at all!!
Beth - Funnily enough, I was talking about developing an underwater cigarette holder at the weekend!!
Matt S - I actually did get an email about some show in Costa Mesa on Oct 20th but I have no details as yet, and I know that it is NOT confirmed. It will take a while for the details to filter over to me, but when its a definite date, I'll let you know.
Simon - The new firearm is a Colt 1911 Commander style .45cal, stainless steel with black grips, laser sights and a 5" barrel. Jack Bauer style!!
Spencer - The answer to your question is most certainly the subject of a larger forum than we have here. The short answer is that I came close to dying, got scared, changed a few things, and worked fucking hard to get out of the gutter. That, and a belief that I am not in charge - that something bigger than me calls the shots.
I get really anxious when I have a list of things that aren't finished. I get obsessed with crossing everything off the list and making sure I have done everything I need to - I have lists of the lists I have. A menu, an index if you like, of all the different lists. Lists sometimes get subsections ..... I am sure I am not a well man!! And I am also sure that they have a medical name for this condition!! I just call it lunatic! Either way, I am currently a man with many half finished things on the list. So I am going to do my best to spend some of today, and all of tomorrow getting shit finished. The real trick is not adding anything else to the list while you are doing this. But I have a tendency to say yes a lot - to agree to get involved with a project, even though I have six others on the go already. OK - get moving Billy, dont start another blog, or another song, or another video. FINISH the ones you've got going already! Wish me luck ..... and have a great day everyone.
Peace
Billy

Billy - what would it take to get you to give a listen to a small sample of music (not a band).. But a soundtrack i've been developing for a friends moview. I'd be thrilled just to have an opinion from someone like you..

That picture cracks me up!! And I see you have your guardian "orb" above your head. With all you get into you'll most likely need it!!

So your the chap who screwed up my car reservation? ;-)
Please tell me you haven't been screwing around with the computers at Fidelity Investements. They have me listed as dead. Apparently speaking to these morons on the phone, giving them my name rank and serial number isn't enough to prove I am in fact alive and well. idiots....
And If we didn't know any better, by lookign at your hectic life/schedule we would think you were a Gemini!

Billy,
With Diablo auditions scheduled for next week I was wondering how that all comes together. Are you bringing in players you're familiar with or is it more of an open process? Some insight on how it all works would be interesting.
Thank you,
Jay

Your compulsive list making and subsection list making sounds like OCD....but it's all good...and having so much to do DOES (to quote Peebs) make you sound like a gemini....but I don't think that you are...February right?
And I have to tell you...after the day I had...that picture just made me laugh outloud (something that I totally needed!)

Billy, today's picture immediately made me think of that Seinfeld scene:
"Unfortunately we ran out of cars."
"But the reservation keeps the car here. That's why you have the reservation."
"I know why we have reservations."
"I don't think you do. If you did, I'd have a car. See, you know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation and that's really the most important part of the reservation, the holding. Anybody
can just take them."
And I agree, Invasion is really getting good now. I'm looooving Russell - man, do park rangers in Florida really look like that? I might have to move.
And don't give up on Lost. I've read more than once that they're thinking of doing Season 3 in two installments of uninterrupted episodes, sorta like 2 mini "24"'s, with only one break in the middle, although it would be a longer break. But we'd always know when the new episodes would be aired.

hiya! i'm giggling at your antics Billy. :D
what an Imp!!!
my mum does the list thing, same as you. lists lists lists. she does lists for me when she's around! ha ha. she got me going for a while on them. and rushing around too. i cut back on them. i did get more and more anxious to do stuff. but my mum's still going! and she's an Aries. zipper de do daa
they help focus you though. so it's good. then it's not going around in your head, like things do when you got lots to do, and ideas, and such.
not gonna give you a diagnosis mate. you're normal. :P
hugs
Lisa

Wow Billy,
Thanks again for yet another answer. That is very cool, for lack of a better term. I had no idea what to say at first! In addition, here is a wish of luck for YOU!!! :D

Hi Billy, Hi Lisa, Hi family!
I'm just checking in, I've missed coming here the past few days...
Billy, that pic of you is soo cute, I wonder if you do that at markets and drugstores, come around the counter to make sure your things are being rung up right...I sense a reality show in the works...Billy at Enterprise, Billy at Rite-Aid, Billy at Hot Dog on a Stick!! hahaha
I wanted to ask a question, what is going to happen to Camp Freddy Radio whilst Dave is out with his boys? Are you going to play reruns? Are you going to have other hosts, like Matt and Scott?
Can I come back and play?
love,
jezzi

Caption: (in a horrific nasal voice)
"Enterprise, please hold. Enterprise, please hold. A gracious good afternoon, this is Mr. Morrison of THE Enterprise Rent-a-Car, is the party to whom I am speaking?"
(I completely DATED myself with that quote...sigh).
Try to find some time for breathing with all you have goin' on. Busy busy man. Love ya Billy!

Hey Billy, haven't posted in a long while (back in Feb I think!). Anyway been reading the blogs on a regular basis but haven't had much to ask until now.
I was recently looking through a local music street mag which had a summary of rock 'n roll events of the last 15 years or so. I stumbled across a small entry noting that one Billy Morrison was married to his beloved Jennifer in Las Vegas...with Robbie Williams officiating as the reverend!? Maybe I'm a bit slow on the uptake but I had never heard about this piece of news before. I did a couple of Google searches which seemed to indicate it happened...but still...can you confirm this is true?
Also, what's the deal with your good wife? I know you've mentioned she's studying law...which makes me think it is a case of opposites attract (?). How did you two come to meet, and, was there any trouble meeting your in-laws (ie 'I won't be having my sweet girl going out with this tattooed, ex-junkie, rock n' roller!')
Thanks...
Daniel

Just wanted to say you and Dave rocked tonight on CFR, as always. But it was my first time with the webcam thingy and being in the chat room which totally added to it all, by the very end I finally had the chat thing figured out. No panties please ( :

Billy....I received a phone call letting me know that "someone" was on VH1's "I Love Toys" I am convinced that you got the short end of the stick...the Balsa Wood Airplane, a brief blurb on Game Boy, and (SHOCKINGLY!) a non speaking spot on Twister....you were robbed man...ROBBED! And I cannot believe that I actually sat thru this marathon of toys...though it was a nice travel through my childhood!
Posted by: MB at April 30, 2006 05:32 PM
And I posted that before you were stirring a box of Legos! ;-)
Posted by: MB at April 30, 2006 05:48 PM
No...they saved the best Billy for last....
"The hoola hoop is the most underrated sexual implement ever invented. Any girl who can do that with her hips is alright by me..."
OMG! I never laughed so hard! Goooooooooooood answer!
Posted by: Peebs at April 30, 2006 06:02 PM
Yes yes...I missed the beginning of my show to catch a glimpse of Mr. Mischief commenting on the hula hoop!
And this is WHY! you were robbed....your wittiness in such small snippets is a travesty indeed!

Okay I'm back again. I had my message all typed and i knocked myself out. *sigh*
Anyone miss me? I am actually here every day, reading up on all your antics but usually I have nothing to say, a miracle. Just miss ya all so I'm popping in.
Billy you're looking good, congrats on everything. Really excited about the diablo stuff.
Okay for all my LOS ANGELES buddies. Tomrrow night, tuesday may 2nd, if you're hanging around with nothing to do and want to catch a really good band, drop down to The Roxy and check out a young finnish band called Bloodpit. This is their first trip to the US and their only show. They're playing for some sort of Musexpo.
I'm just jealous I can't see them, per usual. ;)
Well I'm outta here for now.
tina
p.s., Lisa smooches ;)

Hey Billy, have you and the family seen this site?
http://www.stickam.com/
It's a way to broadcast live video on your blog for free...they had a write up in yesterday's LA times about local LA djs doing a live remote from South by Southwest last month on their website...
thought a technophile like you might want to check it out.
love

Just checking in with y'all saying HI .
I think that would be a great idea for Lost to do all the installments with no reruns. I'm tired of that.
I finally caught Billy on I Love Toys. He was not in it enough, needs a whole show, right?
Much Love, Terri
