THE 'ONE SONG' V BLOG

Spike.jpg

Coming at ya from my hotel room in New York, and edited on the flight from LA earlier today, I bring you an all new V Blog!! Usual large file size etc applies. I couldn't put the song up there, because after all, it was for a TV show. It airs on the Spike network on April 18th, and it was part of a show called Autorox. Some amazing cars, some cool rock and roll, and a really good vibe. The whole weekend was a lot of fun. We rolled into Vegas late friday afternoon, and went straight over to the TV show thing. One run through of the song, and we were ready to go. A bit of hair and make up, and we were up. One song - Surrender - and that was that. Ice Cube, Pam Anderson, and a bunch of very important looking car industry guys were all on hand, watching us from the side of the stage. I think we did a good job - I suppose we just have to check it out on the 18th to see if I'm right!! By the way, how many times did I need to mention that it was one song??!!! I must have been struck by that fact, cos I mention it in every segment I filmed!!!

The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing at the ridiculously nice Wynn Hotel and Casino - that place is just ..... so ..... right! I mean, they even have their own bakery on site, making fresh croissants and all kinds of carbohydrate nastiness - of course, I indulged in all of it!!! Hanging out by the pool, checking out the Poker game (hosted by Dave), and hitting the crazy Maxim 100th Issue Party in the hotel club, Tryst. It all combined to make for a great weekend.

Unpack. Repack. Another plane flight. And here I am in New York. I just got back from the Chrome Hearts party that we hit up tonight - a cool, laid back affair in their New York flagship store. Tons of crazy jewelry, leather and wood - all custom made. Great people, great food. Another good night out. I turned in fairly early (for New York anyway - its about midnight right now) as I wanted to get through a few emails, and this blog, before hitting the sack. I got this picture emailed to me just now from CFR last week - Jason and Gilby (from Supernova) were great guests, and that was a really good show. We will have to make sure we have those guys back once the season is in full swing.

I will be at it again tomorrow with the camera - and this time I WILL do the questions ..... probably tomorrow morning over coffee and cigarettes and before the day gets crazy. And I'll edit up a New York V Blog when I get back to LA on Thursday. "Do I hear you right, Mr Morrison??".... I hear you cry ..... "Two V Blogs in one week???" ..... Oh yes, my faithful compadres, THIS is the kind of commitment we have around here!!! Its a little busy right now, but I know it will all calm down in a few days, and I'll be back to tweaking away all day. For now, I feel King Kong coming on ..... STOP THAT!!! The movie, I mean. I'm gonna chill, put the DVD on, and let the travelling slowly slip away. Back soon, kids.

Oh - and here's the breaking news ...... the new CIRCUS DIABLO COMMUNITY is up and running. Check it out at WWW.CIRCUSDIABLO.COM. Oh yeah. Or, for your convenience, just simply click on the box to the right of this post that says ..... wait for it ...... THE COMMUNITY!!!!

Billy,

With the recent Freddy activity in Vegas and NYC going on, do you find yourself anxious to play more in a live setting?

Or on the contrary, does the occasional CF performance give you enough of a fix to hold you over til Diablo takes the show on the road?

By the way, great v-blog from Vegas, that behind the scenes stuff is absolutely fascinating.

Keep it up!

Thank you,
Jay

Not to be critical but... with all that jiggling about at the start of the video I swear it looks like you're having a wank. You dodgy fucker!

One of the best yet. I keep replaying the few seconds of Camp Freddy performing on Stage, electrifying. Please tell me there is a CF performance on the horizon us regular folks can go to!
Nice to see Duff there...did he carry your stuff for you?;)

Loved the V-blog .
You always look to be having a good time with the guys,

I second that suggestion , the regular folks need a Camp freddy show.
Scott is a great addition.

Much love, Terri

great v-blog
and hey at least you got 3 1/2 minutes of face time. I once did a shoot and waited around 11 1/2 hours and my talent was only on film for 30 seconds.
What the hell, it's a job right?

p.s.
is Jay going to dole out spankings in the community also or can we run wild?

Posted by: sonicgeisha at April 11, 2006 06:25 PM

great v-blog. the beautifully impish matt sorum looking great as usual. and i love the robe...fall open.....fall open....

how do you balance art/commerce in your own head or is that why circus diablo, etc etc exists? i see artists struggling with that & you seem to have a great balance betwixt the two. how'd you do it?
