March 24, 2006

FRIDAY MORNING.

So first of all, due to the power of the world wide web, (and that fact that you lot are VERY helpful!!) the two acoustic tracks (click free, I might add!!) from the Camp Freddy Radio show with Billy Duffy are now available. Paul very kindly threw them up on YouSendIt.com and the links are in his post from yesterday. And thanks to Dave, I have now downloaded them and put them up on the Media page of the Circus Diablo site. CLICK HERE TO GO TO CIRCUS DIABLO MEDIA. I am sure that they will also end up in the MySpace player for a little while. I have to say that its tough to sing such an amazing song like Rain, that is so synonymous with the distinctive voice of Mr Ian Astbury, but I gave it a shot!! And ACDC isnt the easiest thing to do acoustically either!! But Duffy and I were having a blast that night, so it is what it is. Enjoy.

Jezzi - The LOST/Jack Bauer pic had me cracking up! The whole site is genius. I have to admit that I am very close to being done with all the previous seasons now, and like a true addict, I am already suffering withdrawl just from the knowledge that the drugs will run out soon!! Its not even finished yet and I am freaking out!! I'll have to get a new fix - I am considering MI5 (from the UK) and The Shield. And Cori - West Wing? Not sure but I'll give it a go.

Sue - Sweet girl!! Our crew are overworked, underpaid, and kept in cages in between shows, fed on raw cabbage and prune juice, and punished regularly for no reason. You really dont want to be a part of that, do you??!! In all seriousness, its a sweet offer, but all is being taken care of - thank you! Come to the outside performance and find me. We'll see what we can do.

Mary - Does having a ghost play piano on a track answer your question?! Back when I was playing guitar in IN2A CIRCLE, we used brand new tape, in a studio that didnt have (and had never had before) a piano in it, and yet when we were mixing, we could hear a strange noise in the song. When we went through the tracks, we discovered a weird, complex (classical piece) far away piano, being played while Bee (the singer) had been recording his vocals. The day he recorded, there were only three people in the studio, none of which could play piano. Strange!

Alec - Leather pants .... start talking to your bank manager!! I have a few pairs. The ones I wear onstage were custom made-to-measure by LA designer Jenni Kayne. They are a 'one of a kind' pair, made out of reindeer skin because it is thin, stretchy leather for stage. (And by the way - dont bother with the hippy hate mail .... I've heard it all before!). The other pairs (both leather and suede) are made by Henry Dwarte and he has a store on Sunset Plaza, right near the ubiquitous Tower Records.

I think V For Vendetta is on the menu for this weekend. Haven't been to the movies in a while (thanks to Netflix - by the way Lord Of War, with Nic Cage .... I liked it, unlike the rest of the country!!) so it'll be popcorn and hot dogs for me on Sunday! Getting together soon with Duffy and Ricky to write a couple more tunes for Circus Diablo, just because its fun, and because we would like to get a track up on the site ahead of the album. Glad the weekend is here again. Another CFR on Saturday with myself and Mr N. Next week seems like a busy one, with some writing, some recording, some meetings, and more of the New York preparations. Nice - just how I like it. So see you lot soon. Have a great day.

Peace

Billy

V for Vendetta kicks ASS Billy. I saw it on IMAX at Universal City and it blew me away. Enjoy.

To all New Yorkers... flirt cajole and/or sneak. Blend Blend Blend....Works every time. And keep your hands down lest they see you are not wearing the wrist bands (aka admission). Push and shove til you are up front and you've got it made.

Thank, Billy, sounds just like my current gig except we get water, not prune juice, and the people I work with are scientists, not musicians so it's much less entertaining (unless you like discussing groundwater flow patterns and environmental remediation, then you're golden).

How the hell did I end up here?!

See you in NYC then...safe trip out here to all.

Love,
Sue

ooo.I want to see V for Vendetta. saw the ad for it.
i said, 'Finally, a movie I REALLY want to see'
(comic book fan)

Posted by: ylais at March 24, 2006 11:53 AM

for interest:
'V For Vendetta was originally a comic produced in the mid 1980s by Alan Moore and David Lloyd about a man who destroys the corrupt state he lives in, promoting Anarchy to the masses all the while. This core message of Anarchy has been severely twisted in the film verison. So much that Alan Moore has asked to be withdrawn from all media references and to have his name removed from the film's posters.'

hmm..I still want to see it loads. and i remember where i saw the ad, before Batman Begins, which I just watched 2 days ago on pay per view. Watched The Fantastic Four the next day on there. :)
But V for Vendetta! wow! Stephen Fry's in it. cool. wow and cool again.

billy seriously u need to see the buisness!

Billy-

Great acoustic tunes...thanks! As always, I continue to be amazed and very appreciative of your efforts to include us the way you do. You sir are truly a rare breed that way and have a life long fan here because of it!

As for your TV Show watching...I would STRONGLY suggest MI5. My wife and I loved watching it on BBC America. Very good show. It's not Jack Bauer, but then again, you have found out that not many things are.

One more thing...Has Dave taken you to a UFO Convention yet? your ghost story above made me think to ask.

Billy, you've got such a cheeky face! :)

Trust me I am very versed on the "comings and goings" on 43rd St. ;-) From the private Sept 17th VR gig. But that security firm they hire, though they are sweet and nice (some of them cute)off duty NYPD Detectives really don't budge much. Even with my friend's accidental "tara reed" moment at the red carpet. Though "Louie the Security guy" appreciated it, it didn't get us a pass. :-(
They do their job well so at least the guys will be safe from the "masses" :-p
But outside TS I will be, maybe someone will take pity on me with my ever so slight case of Bells Palsy (if it's not gone by then).LOL

Thanks Paul, I now have click free songs. ROFL Billy that night I not only listened to CFR with you and duffy, I called in and got to talk to you both. It was a hilarious show.

Rain is one of my all time fav cult songs, but I also love the version you did Billy. It's so totally different, sounds like a brand new song.

And I agree with Scott, MI5 is an amazing show, I watch it up here all the time, one of the best.

ta for now,
tina xoxo

Billy,

With the release of the Diablo record sometime this summer and it's "homegrown" type approach, how does/will touring (to any degree) with no label support (money) work logistically?

It seems like a such a HUGE financial undertaking to get that kind thing rolling, how does it all come together to make it economically feasible to get the show on the road?

Thank you,
Jay

Have to tell you Billy, it was a quiet nite in Dave's chat room & when he said he was logging on, about 30 people jumped in immediately!
It was too funny!!!
He was gone by then & they were all looking for him! hahaha
He's gotta mention it earlier & then wait for the internet delay. He will then be able to log on & feel the love!
Great show tonite - I'll never hear the word cocaine again without that visual in my head - thanx! lol

Thanks for the accoustic tracks , Billy!

I liked V is for Vendetta , I am not familar with the comic.

I went to see The Inside Man with Denzel Washing ton , Jodie Foster and Clive Owen directed by Spike Lee. That movie kicks ass. Go see it.

Does anyone else think Clive owen would have been a great James Bond.Nothing against Daniel Craig.

Good morning!
Billy, your wife looked beautiful last night, I almost felt like I was intruding, watching the webcast, but the view of you holding hands with her, made me a bit misty...sorry!!

How do you two find time for each other, it seems that both of you lead such busy lives?

Good luck to Donovan tonight!
love,
jezzi

never knew you were in a movie about to come out soon -give us more info!

is there anything this man cannot do???

Posted by: paul at March 26, 2006 10:54 AM

Billy, I just heard that Jack Bauer himself, Kiefer Sutherland has sparked rumours that he is launching a music career after revealing he has built his own personal recording studio.

Is there anything this man can't do? Haha, maybe a CF special appearance?
