A QUICK LOOK IN THE STUDIO

StudioBlogPic.jpg

So we have been in the studio the last few days and todays V-Blog is just a slice of what’s been going on. Its just an attempt to bring you guys in a little – warts n all. I always used to like seeing clips of bands doing their thing in the studio so I see no reason why we shouldn’t be able to do just that here on the blog. The tracks sound great and we will be finished recording them pretty soon. We’ll go back in a week or so to mix and master them, and then we will be done. Who knows when we will be able to get out and play. Billy will be busy with The Cult tour for a while (and by the way, I will NOT be playing bass with them.) and I will hopefully have something going on that will keep me occupied for most of the summer. So we will just have to fit some shows in when we all have breaks. We are trying to work out a few shows during the summer, but it is so tough with everyone’s different schedules (not to mention that some balls are still in the air and we don’t know where they might land). Its pretty safe to say that once the summer season is over, we will probably be able to get out and do a quick run of gigs. But it will be a while. For now, we will be getting the ball rolling with the EP, a tee shirt or two, and we’ll take the rest as it comes. We would, however, like to see a few examples of some Circus Diablo artwork. Maybe a logo – maybe a typeface. I wanna put a bunch up on the CD website, so if you feel particularly creative, feel free to mess about in your artwork programs.

Superbowl Sunday – it’s that time again folks. This year, as the Raiders proved to be somewhat ….. less than average (!!) ….. I will be shouting for the Seahawks. And I will be shouting from Macy Gray’s Superbowl Party at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel. A charity event to aid Macy’s Music Academy, it’s a worthwhile cause and a great way to watch the game. A lot of my friends are out in Detroit, so I’ll be able to just kick back with Jennifer and enjoy some of that tiny finger food (that they usually serve at these things – I need about 15 of the little fuckers just to get a mouthful!!) and the HD broadcast of the game.

Mr Duffy just walked into the studio, so I should go and get my head back into this track. Hope the V-Blog is amusing, and I’ll be back on Sunday with the usual Selection, and a recap of the week. Fun fun fun.

Peace

Billy

Billy, very amusing stuff!

I'm glad you shared as I too enjoy when people show the studio experience in such a way. It's so selfless (as opposed to restless!!!).

Hiya Billy,

Been away on business for awhile...haven't had chance to post any comments. I have a question for your Sunday blog that is somewhat personal...don't know whether you'll want to answer this or not. I think this is the question that a lot of people want to ask but instead they disguise it by asking other questions.

Everyone looks at your postings and read of all you do...recording sessions, watching movies, going shoppping for latest gadgets etc and everyone asks 'how on earth do you squeeze all this into such a hectic lifestyle?'. I think, in reality, everyone is thinking 'how the fuck can you "afford" to do this when you don't seem to have any discernable regular job?'.

I know you have a relationship with Gibson so presumably there is a sponsorship arrangement there for advertisements. I'm assuming you get paid for the Camp Freddy radio shows...but that's a 2 hour a week job so surely can't be enough to fund a lifestyle. The live gigs seem to be infrequent and, with all due respect, it's not as though you have records that are million sellers.

I'm not expecting to you to reveal your paycheck or anything...just hugely curious about you seem to be able to live the life-style! It's somewhat of a case of "I wanna get me some of that action"...then again not having any musical talent probably puts me on the backfoot!

Cheers...Daniel

Billy, I loved the vblog. Thank you for giving us insight into the inside. It's great to see what's going on. Poor Ricky has a cold eh? What a trooper. Still recovering myself. (bla. it sucks.)
You've got a powerful voice. I thought it sounded cool through the megaphone too.
Looking forward to hearing the Circus Diablo tracks. :D
Are you doing CFR tonight?

Love and hugs
Lisa

Billy,

First off, the studio v-blog is fucking killer. I absolutely love the behind the scenes insight
and whatnot. Thank you.

A bit disappointed you won't be touring with The Cult, I really dug your era in the band and had hoped for a reprise in '06. That said, best wishes for whatever this summer holds for you, good luck.

A good weekend to all,
Jay

This is too funny and weird..I'm going to see Alice Cooper at Monsters of Rock 2006, Milton Keynes. Yeah okay, that's not until June, but on a whim I thought I'd go check his website since I'm going, and tada today Feb 4th is Alice Cooper's birthday! :D

It's not boring watching you sing on that vblog. It is part of the production process and I find it interesting. I love 'behind the scenes' stuff, truly can't get enough. Thanks for puttin' yourself out there for all us blokes.

What's on your birthday list?

I enjoy all of the updates from you creative people. It's nice to read about what the process is like from a personal point of view of the artist.

Cheers
