DRAMA

As of 4.30pm last night, my laptop computer (which holds everything - and I mean EVERYTHING) is down, and is not looking good. Its in the Laptop Hospital as we speak, on life support, and I am waiting with baited breath for a phone call from the good people at Mac Hollywood. Applications, documents, all my websites, thousands of pictures, all my email settings, passwords ..... this is a major problem. So I need you all to send up a prayer or two for my sick computer. If things can be rescued, then its just a new laptop. If things cant .... well, .... I'll deal with that then. For now, dont expect too much from me - I need to go sit at the bedside and hold its hand. PATHETIC how much of my life is inside that machine.
Fingers, toes - all body parts crossed. I'll update you as and when.

Get well soon, little laptop!! My thoughts are with you, Billy.

Wow, I'm sorry Billy! It's amazing how much we rely on our computers, my monitor died yesterday and my computer is on it's last legs and I literally can't do 50% of the things I normally do. Now I need to buy a new monitor so I can back up my drive before that goes to hell also - I have about five or six years worth of stuff on that thing. So I kind of know what you're going through - good luck!!!

I was watching Pauly Shore is Dead yesterday, and I was delighted that I heard a Stimulator track - to be honest, it was the best part of the movie ;)

Best wish and get well soon Billy's computer!

I have two words for all of you...from one who doesn't practice what she preaches...BACK UP!!! ok, three more...SAVE TO DISK!

I have faith that what is meant to be saved, will be saved, and what isn't, will be restored in another version...

Take Care, Billy...it's all going to be ok.

love to all

The loss of our little mechanical friends can be devastating...(not joking)...we rely on them so much and it's nearly impossible to recapture all that's lost when they go!

Sending good thoughts and wishes your way Billy...for the best possible outcome! :)

Oh no Billy I hope your laptop makes a full recovery.

luv xxx, Terri

CFR was absolutely hysterical Sat.
Loved all the movie talk.

Posted by: Terri at January 16, 2006 12:17 PM

Makes you want to go out and buy a PC instead of a MAC huh? (HA! didn't really think so)

My condolences and best wishes for a speedy recovery. Perhaps a slow morphine drip would help, and one for the Laptop as well.
Send in Jack Bauer to recover the data!

that's macs for you

Just finished listening to the CFR podcast. It was a good 'un. As I was listening to the into I was thinking 'why do they continue to list all the names of the CF members when really it's just Billy and Dave. I can't remember Chris Chaney ever being on'...and then 30 seconds later you mention exactly that! HA!

Thoughts and prayers for your machine. I feel your pain. It's a candlelight vigil down here...

Ohh the suspense is KILLING me...

Stay away from the light lil' PC...

I can't imagine what you're going through right now.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your lil laptop.

Best Thoughts and Wishes!

Just went through a crash a few months back with 5 years worth of music and all of the Loop Experiment stuff. It worked out for me as I am sure it will work out for you...

Ok, I'm a little slow, but I'm catching up.

First, Saturday's video blog made me laugh, cuz it's January, and Billy's wearing a down North Face jacket, but still drives with the top down. L.A. really is a whole different world from Pennsylvania.

Second, YAY LOST! I agree on the Sawyer thing. He's been my favorite from the beginning. Lots of people hate him, but I think we're finally going to get more insight on what makes him tick.

And finally, I feel your pain about the computer thing, Billy. I lost a year's worth of digital pics of my daughter when my computer crashed. Couldn't get those back. So I'm hoping for the best for you. And I have to agree with Jezzi - Back That Thing Up!

OH MAN.....THAT SUX SO MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF ARSE IN SO MANY WAYS !!!.....HOLY SHITE DOOD WHUT U MUST BE GOING THRU.....U ARE DEFINITELY IN MY PRAYERS......SENDING POSITIVETY & HEALING VIBES YOUR WAY.....UC13

Posted by: UncleCreepy at January 16, 2006 07:18 PM

Billy,
You know how on that blog you said Sawyer is the one you would closely identify with on LOST.. well we all do to but for a reason other than being outsiders and rogues..
We out here in blog space are more geared toward the pack rat and hording side of Sawyer.
So if it turns out you have lost pics, mp3s, video etc etc..due to your computer disaster.. I am willing to bet there are more than a few of us who can replace what ya need.. (with the exception of personal files, your secret porn stash, emails from your crazy aunt..yada yada)

Posted by: sonicgeisha at January 16, 2006 08:39 PM

Billy, I'm keeping my fingers, toes, everything crossed that your stuff can be rescued. I wouldn't be able to rest until that was sorted...it sucks!
hugs,
Lisa

Awwww, you poor thing and that poor laptop. I lost my computer, everything and I mean everything last month. I feel your pain! It was like living in a blackhole for days to then realize it was dead beyond revival. I hope they recover yours. I started over with a new system, but lost a lot of awesome stuff. Hang in there dude. Fingers, toes and hair crossed for your computer! Don't you just hate the things!

Posted by: Stardreme at January 17, 2006 03:27 AM

billy, hope your laptop gets fixed, and it's not pathetic. I know I would die if something like this happened to mine. I really need to back up.

love,
tina xoxo

Breaking out the fire in the middle of the living room, drums, gongs, incense, candles, & 100 women in scantilly clad animal skin bikinis to do the "DON'T DIE Laptop dance".

crowded in here....

Posted by: Kate at January 17, 2006 08:21 AM

I hope you computer can be fixed. I can't imagine how terrible it would be to lose everything. I can't even live without my competer for a day. It's amazing how much we are dependent on computers these days. On a PC the hard drive can be taken out and hooked up as and external drive on another computer to recover all files. I'm not sure if that can be done with a Mac, it might be worth checking into. If it can then at least you wouldn't lose any files.

My boss is sending his sincere wishes for the speedy recovery of your computer too...on account of the fact that I am not able to type very fast today...what with all my fingers crossed and such ;)

PS: OMG...I LOVE MY FLAVIA!!! Thanks so much for showing us that...I got one and love, love, love it!!! If you had not done your little "infomercial" God only knows how long it might have been before I discovered this essential piece of equipment!!!

Only downside so far...we got crazy playing with it and trying out all the recipes. As a result, the "Medley" sampler didn't last very long. Needless to say, I was online in a heartbeat ordering many cases of necessary supplies :D

Have you discovered a favorite drink yet?

Now Billy - you can tell us.

You really took the laptop to the Gun Range and missed. It's OK, a stray bullet could muck up any hard drive - even a MAC.

Thanx for your cautionary tale Billy.
We all know we should back up but....

Hope it turns out to be a close call for you & nothing more.

Hi guys, you know what, my computer crashed once, I lost everything, papers from school, poetry...stuff..Someone asked me why I didn't save it, I said I did, I pressed save...what's a disk? Back up where...

Anyway, just wanted to say, Billy, that I hope everything is ok, and that at the MacWorld last week in San Fransicso, they unveiled a new laptop, you know, the new Intel chip..in fact, I was also going to say, isn't that "Jack Bauer" as the voice in their commercials..

Looking forward to an update, I'll stop babbling now
love to all...HI LAURIE!!
