ANOTHER ABORTIVE ATTEMPT
Well, this time, I tried to do a video diary from the Camp Freddy Radio studio ...... and took everything I needed except a power adapter! So my battery ran out and of course I didnt get anything! What an idiot I am - but never mind. I'll try again next week. So I thought it might be nice to put up the old Breathe video that I made while we were on the road during The Cult 2001 Beyond Good And Evil tour. Like I have said before, this wasn't anything official - I just filmed a bunch of the shows and had a lot of fun editing the video together in the back of the bus. It still looks pretty cool, and is a great reminder of a really fun time. I am also attempting to get the old Stimulator stuff transfered into NTSC so that I can put some of that up here as well. Just a word of warning - this video file is 25Meg so it really will take a while to download. Just be aware of that if you are on dial up.
So on to the questions:
Beth - My time slot for the Gibson Booth at NAMM is 1.00pm. I know that Keifer Sutherland is also doing that Saturday afternoon, so I will be picking his brains about the new series of 24!!
Jay - Celebrity Swag can be ridiculous! The Oscar and Golden Globes bags contain thousands of dollars worth of free shit! I would say that, although they didnt come out of a gift bag, my solid gold Ear Plugs that were made for me by Geoff Thomas would be the ultimate gift.
Lisa - Would I go on Celebrity Big Brother? Absolutley ..... NOT!!!
Spencer - Great idea about the video with my pedals etc. But I am afraid that it would come out looking like a Paul Gilbert Instructional DVD - and the problem with that is I cant play like Paul Gilbert!!
Daniel - Laid back? Me? Never!!! Outwardly I might be a little chilled, but if only you could experience the twenty seven voices inside my head that speak to me constantly!!
Jezzi - No Film Festival for me. I had my own Film Festival in the house - rented just about every recent DVD from the local store and watched them all!!!
Terri - Influences I have done many times before. Bowie, Pistols, Iggy, Velvet Underground. Regarding my life story ...... one of these days, the book will HAVE to be written!!
So check this new piece of art that Tina sent me yesterday. I just love it when you guys mess about and do this shit. The more the merrier, so please feel free to come up with stuff. Maybe use the new King Mob Logo (www.kingmobmusic.com) as some fresh inspiration. How about taking that logo and seeing what bizarre places you can think of to put it?
And I can tell you that all things being equal (and providing people dont change their minds between now and the end of the month!) I should be able to give you some info on the Circus Diablo site thats had a coming soon page on it for months! For those of you who haven't found it yet, just click around on all the petals on the flower that appears when you type in www.billymorrison.net. That is a portal page for all things that I am involved with. So the www.circusdiablo.com address should see some action soon. Fingers crossed.
I am back in the studio next week to work on a couple of tracks that I want to include on the Unreleased record. The idea is to put some Doheny, some Stimulator, even an Into A Circle track onto one album, with a couple of brand new tracks and a cover. So next week I'll start work on the two new ones and eventually I'll put it all together and get it out. And by the way, as well as the Breathe movie, I have put up a 'Reel' on the King Mob Music site - not really a reel, more of a collection of clips. But there is a scene from Tripping Forward included in the video. Again, the file size is big, so be aware before downloading. You'll find it on the FILM page of the www.kingmobmusic.com site.
Enjoy the Cult home movie, have a nice, relaxing Sunday, and I will be back early next week, hopefully with a video diary from the shooting range. Lets just hope I don't put a bullet through my laptop!
Till next time
Peace
Billy

ok, Kiefer at NAMM? I didn't know he was a musician, now my curiousity is officially piqued. I left a post at Dave's asking for the time he was there, so I could coordinate a Jack Bauer inspired commando raid past the badge checkers, but, if Jack Bauer himself is going to be there,my plans will most certainly be foiled...grrrr...
Billy, thanks for the video, Tina, thanks for the artwork, you clever girl! To all of my fellow King Morrison mobsters...have a great day!!

Hiya! I'm always happy to see you've posted. I suppose I should watch the video before I ramble on anymore! I'm just about to watch it.
Tina, I love your artwork! I always do. Coincidentally, I was feeling a little creative yesterday, well lately, and I did a search for Billy pics, yes you Billy, and I stumbled over a post you had made on a forum, and a link you had put there to stock pics on deviant art. (which i used to go on a while back..in my neopets era..no laughing in the back there!!! i learned tons about websites, computer art, html, css, etc, from that place..and battling!)

okay, I meant Tina had posted the link. :D
Posted by: ylais at January 8, 2006 10:13 AM
Hell yeah!!! That was awesome! The video. Made me remember what I love in life.
(I've got a case of post-holiday blues right now. :S I'm damn grumpy.)
No to celeb big brother? I don't blame you. The people that just went into the BB house are saying how much it's like being in rehab. Oo
I couldn't stand my liberties being taken away like that.
I know I'd make a stink about it, and I survived 3 years of an all girls boarding school in England!

Billy,
I think it would be all good, provided that you didn't advertise your video in the back of Guitar World! Plus, there's no way you would end up looking like the poor mans' Paul Gilbert, provided that you DO NOT wear home made clothes. Especially not a space suit. Besides, don't you remember Navarro's instructional video?!
By the way, I really dig all the stuff from Stimulator that I've heard thus far!

Cool video!...makes me want to crank out the MUSIC WITHOUT FEAR DVD again.
And what exactly was that bit after the closing credits??? I couldn't quite make it out...sorta looked like someone peeling a pickle off a burger or something...

Billy I love the video blogs. Thank you so much for including us in your life.
I have a question. You're so creative and involved in so many projects. How do you manage it all? Your new project? Camp Freddy? Camp Freddy Radio? This blog? An album of unreleased material?
I work 10-12 hour days for the people who pay me to write and find that I have very little to give to my own writing by day's end. In the past year I don't think I've spent an hour on my own writing.
How do you keep your creative energy flowing?

Hey there Billy-Jack-Of-All-Trades!
Enjoyed CFR last night, seems you started off at the control board. Through the camera Dave had on during the CFR show I could see you trying to get some footage and then about an hour into the show you put everything away in the case. Next time.
Watched The Cult footage you edited together, thanks for that trip down memory lane, very well done.
It's Sunday night so if you are not editing something, playing something, or writing something I suppose you are keeping busy campaigning for world peace... or something.

Check out what you guys have me doing~watching the end to try and figure out what is going on there.
I blushingly think it looks like people doing something sexual. Sounds like it too.

Edit: It looks like 2 people.

I can't get the videos to work.
What am I doing wrong? What do I need to download on my computer?
Anyone? *pout*

Billy-
Thanks for the "Dennis is a genius, I'm sure" sound bite! I flew it into Pro Tools, cute off the "I'm sure" and flew it in to my phone. Now every time I get a phone call- you tell me I'm a genius!
I'm joking of course... or am I?
I wont be making it to NAMM, which is a bummer. I know I've had all year to plan it out... but I didn't!
Take care all!

Billy-Man that was a great tour, so nice to see you playing bass. Also it was cool to see "The Billy Duffy Guitar Sweep" again....classic......... Question-who was the guy who played rhythum with the cowboy hat?
Thanks...

I don't know Ylais - it's looking a little like a burger on a plate to me and someone (Billy maybe) taking something (?) out from under the burger lid?
I'm more than happy to go with your version though, it sounds so much more exciting and interesting!! :)
Much love x x x

Brett,
The rhythm guitarist in the cowboy hat is Mike Dimkich. He got a 'thankyou' credit on the Beyond Good and Evil album so presumably helped with the recording in some way. According to http://www.ultrarunner.net/piertopeakreport02cc.html he is also an ultramarathon runner and "has a degree in history and is ever ready with an apt and incisive historical insight"...so there you go.
He's on the live Cult DVD 'MUSIC WITHOUT FEAR" which is taken from the same tour as Billy's homemade video...although he is very much in the background...the editing seems deliberately done to keep him hidden for some reason.

Hey Billy, just got back from holidays so I thought I'd check in. Looks like you have been advancing in the technology stakes to try and keep up with Navarro. Keep it up as the video messages are great.
Also everyone on myspace, I finally got a myspace page. It is VERY plain though. Haven't really put much time into yet.
Hope all is well and that you all had a great Christmas and New Years.

Billy, Just watched the clips on King Mob site.
Thank you for putting those on there. I watched it twice in a row. Brought up a few things for me, and
questions for you:
Do you still see the guys from Doheny?
Robbie Williams looked like he was really enjoying himself with Camp Freddy! Will he be back?
I'm partly asking that because he's in the news as saying he wants to be a comedian, and the singing gets in the way when he's on stage. I'd actually noticed from live8 and shows on tv, he was talking tons more, and in the middle of songs, and letting the crowd sing them..and it even occurred to me, maybe he'd like to do something new. I think rock would suit him very well! I only now found out his Dad is a comedian.
I guess that's for him to answer though really.
You probably know I'm not a Star Wars fan (ahem :P) but that clip of you explaining the guitar to those 'robots' (ha ha :P) looked very interesting.
Anyway would you be able to put your entire part of that show on the website?
Holy shit with the Tripping Forward clips! :O I'm going to have to go see the film now to see what happens aren't I?!! Those lines you said...pretty heavy dude. Okay, I'm probably going to have to email you, because I'll hog up this blog writing about all that stuff! Oh there's more believe me!!!
Hugs
Lisa
