PRETTY VACANT
Last nights CFR was a great time - Dave and I were firing on all cylinders, ForBiddeN was a killer guest, and lots of fun and frolics were had by all! I said to Dave after the show that I really do enjoy having the radio show. We work well together, and its so nice to be a part of the Indie 103.1 family. I also wanna thank the girls (naming no names, but you know who you are) for the photographs that you gave us after the show. A nice surprise - hope you had a good night out on the town. Dave and I did a couple of acoustic songs at the end of the show. Jean Genie wasn't too bad, but Ziggy Stardust was pretty awful - I didnt know Dave was gonna start playing the song, and I just joined in ....... and then realized that I cant play the guitar AND sing that song!! Some I can, some I cant. Thats one I cant! So I had to stop the song, and put the guitar down!!! Then we tried again .... hopefully the second time was a little better than the first!
My wife is away now, and I do miss her. So I am filling my time up with all kinds of distractions. I spent a couple of hours down at the shooting range yesterday, and then went straight to the radio show. After that, I watched a couple of movies (don't bother with the Fantastic 4 ..... really a non-descript, sub par action movie) and messed about on the computer till I fell asleep. Today will be more of the same, with another attempt at some Xmas shopping thrown in for good measure. Let me see if I can actually get a present for someone OTHER than myself!!!! I have to admit that the space between my ears is a little vacant this morning. Not a lot going on up there. I suppose you could say that I am feeling pretty vacant today!!
Before I get around to going through the comments from the last couple of days, I want to thank everyone who has emailed and mailed me Xmas cards. Too many to name, but I love you all.
Scott - Thanks for the kind words. And well done with the Scuba lesson. I hear Cancun has some great diving. You will not regret learning - its one of the best things I have ever done. Full report on the Cancun experience underwater please!!!
Six7Six7 - The book idea is cool. But by the time I get around to it, they will all be posted on here for free anyway! I think the book that is inside me is a life story anyway. I'll probably include some of the more personal diaries in it (like the Stimulator Making Of The Album journal) but I have decided to put the Tour Diaries from Stimulator and The Cult up on the King Mob site and leave the rest for now.
Alec - Playing guitar and talking to pretty girls?.... sounds like a sweet life to me, mate!!
Carol Anne - You are right to be curious about the return to Thailand! I ended up running a clothing business that manufactured in Bangkok. So I would be there once a month to oversee what was going on. Yes - I have done a lot of different, RANDOM things during my life!!
Junkie Inc - The thing is that the whole Podcast Radio show is Dave's thing, and I don't want to jump on his bandwagon. If he gets the whole station thing going, I'll do my own show for SRL under his station.
UC - OK. So King Mob were a group of anarchists that emerged out of the the Situationist movement. Roots were in French underground activism. All the slogans and imagery used by Malcolm Maclaren and Vivienne Westwood on the Seditionaries clothing were Situationist and King Mob. The logo is a mutation of part of one of my tattoos that I had when I was in the band Into A Circle (lots of Exstasy and red wine had been consumed!!) . It would be too complicated to describe it in detail here, but basically it means "BE YOURSELF".
So thats it from me today. A commitment to post more regularly is now in full effect. I am off to get the first couple of Tour Diaries up on the other site. Have a great day, one and all. Todays picture is from a band that I had in the UK that lasted about five minutes and one show. But funnily enough, it was called King Mob (I see that there is now another band in the UK calling themselves the same name. Nice one guys)
Check out the crazy powder blue bondage suit!! I'll have to bust that out of storage one day.
Peace
Billy

The 2 acoustic tunes were really cool! My wifes a big Bowie fan... so acoustic tunes are always welcome.... false starts and all.
Have a safe trip to Dallas... I hope to talk to you soon!

Billy - have you managed to find any nice solutions for the mass amounts of cables required to record music on your computer?
i seem to have 25 cables for every computer around the house...

Hey Billy, sorry mate I've been away for a couple of days but now I'm back. I missed CFR but hopefully I will catch it at 6767.
Take care over the break and just enjoy the time. You said a couple of posts back about the site taking 'baby steps', will there be any other kind of 'baby steps' in '06 for the Morrison clan?
Mate, thanks for a great year and have fun in Dallas. Cheers.

Billy, you're killer at posting dude. You're going to make them even MORE often? I recommend making Navarro wear one of those suits at a C.F. gig or something! It could still match the white PRS and would be such a departure from his usual style. No?

Billy,
Was wondering about your earlier career, touring specifically. Who were some of the groups/artists you've shared a bill with, specifically in your "Into A Circle" and "Stimulator" days?
I'm sure there's a few good stories in there, would love to hear some if you get the notion.
A good week to all.
Thanks,
Jay

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who Christmas shops and comes home with more bags for myself than for anyone else- hahaha!!!
I don't do it on purpose - I swear!!
Love the diaries - I vote "YES" on more!

Billy, this friday i have a gig to play with the band i've been with for a year, and, as Mr. Navarro says, "fail to prepare, prepare to fail". so tonight i am practicing the new songs, as well as going over some old stuff. The problem is, i bought some new rack gear, (behringer noise gate/compressor, and an eq/feedback unit) and when i turn them on and play my guitar, no sound comes out of my amp. does this mean i'm a sh!##& guitar player, and that behringer equipment can tell my limited ability is mostly noise and feedback?

So Billy...
Has Dave finally convinced you to set up a MySpace page?? Do it! Do it! :)

Billy,
Bad Wisdom is definitely the better of the two books. It's shorter than Wild Highway and less rambling. I'd also highly recommend getting 'Fucked By Rock' and 'Crucify My Again' both by just Mark Manning (without Bill Drummond). 'Collateral Damage' is best avoided...it's a bit of a rip-off.
Did ya get the CD? Let me know what you think...

Hey y'all I am off to NY for a few days. I planned a trip to escape the holiday chaos. Totally forgetting I had to get on a plane. I HATE flying.
Everyone here have a very Happy Holiday.
Thanks for making this place so much fun.
I will "see" you all when I get back
If my plane doesn't crash ! :(
Luv xx. Terri
