PRETTY VEGAS

Black IPod.jpg

Couldn't resist. Couldn't wait. The story of my life. So I am now the proud owner of the new Black Video I-Pod. A beautifully crafted piece of absolutely superficial technology, designed to make you spend even more money in the Online Apple Store. But oh so pretty!! So I am now in the process of downloading every bit of video I could possibly want, and will then be looking for any opportunity to sit antisocially with my phones on, staring at a tiny screen!! I must have been having a feeling or two lately as I also went and got the new SOCOM 3 video game - also a well designed time waster. Played a couple of levels today and totally love the game.

The Camp Freddy show in Vegas last night was, as usual, a roaring success. All my stress and worry slipped away as Jonesy, Navarro and myself laughed our way through a crazy twelve hour trip to Vegas, which included private planes, the smallest red carpet I have ever seen (to what benefit are these things? Oh look - there's another pic of us on a red carpet ...... on Wire Image!!) and a fantastic rock show, featuring Pink, Scott Weiland, Janie Lane (yes - he of Warrant/Cherry Pie fame!) and Vinnie from The Killers. Also on hand were Billy Duffy, Steve Jones and Gina Gershon. I got to sing God Save The Queen (a childhood fantasy of mine), Pink got to absolutely KILL Whole Lotta Love, and Scott Weiland (looking fucking AMAZING right now - what a rock star) did the STP song Crackerman and the Doors favorite, Roadhouse Blues. We did Bowie's Queen Bitch (with Gina) which happens to be my favorite Bowie song, and Janie did Man In The Box and Cat Scratch Fever. It really was a fun in-and-out trip (the best and only way to do Vegas) and of course, Alec's Dad came along for his 'Weekend With Matt Sorum' and was the NICEST guy!! You are welcome to hang out anytime, sir. And my huge apologies for treading on your hand while I was onstage!!! Didn't see it till it was too late. Hope you had a great time. We certainly did.

Thanks for all your posts. I am never truly THAT down .... I just find that this blog is a nice tool sometimes when I want to vent. And I choose to be honest and when I feel shitty, then that is what I will post. Your 'Chin Up' posts are most appreciated. The full set list and line up is over on Dave's site, at 6767.com. I have to say that he was a true friend, and just made me laugh all day! I soon forgot all the rubbish that was dragging me down.

SonicGeisha - Excellent video. Thank you for the link.

I have a relatively quiet week ahead, which I really should make the most of - get some Cardio and Pilates in, knock out a few levels of Socom 3, rest up, and generally enjoy the rest. Of course, I am sure by wednesday, I will have fabricated a million things to do to keep my workaholic head occupied, but for now, I'll indulge the fantasy that I will do nothing all week. Apart from that one mix. And that video stuff. Oh .... and a few tweaks with Allison on the site. Ah - and then there's the new CF site. Oh yeah - and the new project/band/music thingy. And of course, I could always just start working on the next Freddy show. Life. Dontcha love it???

Peace

Billy

Billy, You had a great time!!! You knew you would, and so did we. It's a CF show. It has to be awesome.

Been watching The Prodigy videos myself with headphones on. Oddly, in sync there, since you just got a video ipod, and I WANT ONE!!! :D

Hugs,
Lisa

Happy to hear things went well, hellofa lineup. In your list of things 'not' to get done this week I will help you prioritize:
1. Plan next CF show.
2. See #1.

HI billy

what do you use for live set?
you sound great man""

Posted by: sergio at October 23, 2005 06:16 PM

Billy,

Generally speaking, what is the vibe like with the corporate gigs? Are they less-than-ideal audiences who utter things like,

"Say, is that Extra's own Mark McGrath?"

"Hmm, yes, I believe that it is. Who knew he could sing?"

Or, do they actually recognize/appreciate the set lists and special guests?

Just curious,

Sue =)

Sounds like that show kicked some serious ass. And don't worry Billy, there must be something going around. I have been feeling absolutely shitty as hell lately. Come out east some day and cheer us up some day, I am sure we could use a nice Camp Freddy show...soon!

Good Morning Billy!

I accidentally recorded a portion of "I Love the 80's 3D" and got the happy surprise of seeing you this morning...discussing "Post It's". I gotta say though...it was only a nano-second and then you were not on again...who can I write to to complain??? MORE BILLY, PLEASE!!!!

Have a beautiful day ;)

Cori??? Which year (I Love the 80s 3D)??

Posted by: Kate at October 26, 2005 11:48 AM

I believe it was 1980...I think I only got about the last half hour/45 min taped so, I don't know how far into the show that was...started right out with Billy talking about Post It's and then went on to talk about AC/DC...
