PLANS AND DESIGNS

Who's-the-guy-in-the-hat-.jpg

I seem to be well over the worst now. Not contagious, able to breath (rather handy, really!) and itching to get back to work. I have spent the last week or so figuring out a bunch of stuff on the computer which will enable me to get even more confused than I do already! So watch out - DVD's have been ripped, HTML has been written, Flash has been created .... oh yes indeed - I really am headed for a whole new world of hurt!! But first - I get well, and our new Web Guru Allison goes down with a similar illness. Poor girl is now laid up in bed, suffering like I was. So no huge changes until she gets herself better. Rest up Allison ..... Chicken Noodle Soup and NO COMPUTERS!!!

So - Camp Freddy have a couple of shows looming. Both seem to be corporate affairs, but rest assured that mucho pics, hopefully a vid clip or two, and a full report will be on this site as soon as they have happened. One is in LA and one is in Vegas - and it will be SO good to get to playing again. Dave and Carmen rocked the house on CFR this week (thanks guys) and I will for sure be back on the air this coming Saturday.

What else? Well, its back to the Pilates tomorrow - cant wait. Feel like I have totally had to let that shit slide while I have been sick. So its back to the regime tomorrow. And I finally started to finish off some stuff I had knocking about on the computer from before I got sick. A cue or two for the Bonaduce program (are you watching that? Its insane!!!) and also the track from Tripping Forward - the movie I did earlier in the year. I have also begun doing some work on a few songs that have absolutely nothing to do with any of the projects that I am involved in right now. I have this mad plan to have an area on this site that is a complete project area (with a name, logo etc) that is completely free, new music. Basically, I am fed up with being creative and battling the business, so I figure just put the songs up for download. For free. And thats that. So while I will still be involved in the business of Camp Freddy (and any other band I might be doing), I get to make music and give it away. What do you think? Its just an idea right now, but it could be cool. This will be the only place the songs will be available. We'll see.

Alec - NICE guitar dude. Yer makin me jealous!! Better call up Navarro and hassle him!!

Jay - The live Nirvana has not been rocked yet, as I wasnt there last week. But its on the playlist for this coming Saturday, along with the promised shout out.

Tina - I will be searching for Trailor Park Boys as soon as I have posted this. Sounds perfect for me.

D-Wez - Yep. Thats me next to Ozzy up at the house while they do their final X-Factor thing. That was a laugh a minute. He kept making me crack up and then they would get all annoyed and start telling us to stop laughing. I haven't seen it - anyone got a quicktime of that?

Mary - welcome to the blog. And FYI - it appears that NBC didnt run the Camp Freddy stuff at the weekend. Maybe they already ran it and we missed it. Somebody call NBC!!!

Lisa - I would love to help you with all that .... but I have no idea what you're talking about!! XML to RSS???? Anyone would think I have been sick and had time to learn a bunch of new shit about the internet!!! Seriously - I kinda understand, but not sure what you need. More explanation please.

OK - time to go. Thanks again for all the well wishes. I think they all filtered through the ether and found me, and dragged me out of my sickbed and into the land of the living again. I am gonna go sit and stare at the nightime LA skyline and ponder the possibilities of having an album, video, website, artwork, concept, book, film etc ...... all online, and all free. Seems like a good idea to me. And finally - if EVER there was a photograph that's ripe for you guys to come up with a caption for, its todays. When I was going through old Cult tour photo's, I came across this one, taken on the bullet train from Tokyo to Osaka in Japan. Now come on boys and girls - I know you can make me laugh.

Till next time -

Billy

Nice to hear you're feeling better! The site looks great, the future of it sounds very interesting, and I love the Morrison Radio.

Question - how do you feel about Queens of the Stone Age? I can't get Lullabies to Paralyze out of my CD player.

And as far as a caption, the first thing that came to mind was the movie Airplane. Probably because of your friend's hat: "Surely, you can't be serious!" "I am serious. And don't call me Shirley."

Posted by: Theresa at October 10, 2005 11:22 PM

yay glad to hear you are feeling better.

please post tons of pictures of both shows... did I mention I love pictures.

Anyhow I'm working on adding tags to all my pictures to make them easier to find and uploading some other stuff. Dude it's so time consuming and I’m only adding tags not designing a web site adding all this gnarly stuff to it, and flash and audio and whatnots. You and your new web guru Allison are very much appreciated.

ha I’m getting tired just thinking about all the stuff you guys are doing...

as for a caption

“dude who is flying the plane”

oh yeah last thing if you guys ever need an extra free photographer which I’m sure you don’t cough… cough… cough

I think I might have slightly over did it with my "dudes" today :D. nite

Posted by: wendybird at October 11, 2005 02:18 AM

oh yeah I almost forgot. hope you feel better soon Allison

Posted by: wendybird at October 11, 2005 02:19 AM

Glad to hear that you are feeling better.

Caption..."Billy(D),I thought you packed the Dunks!"

Is that Mike behind you? How is he doing?

SSS

PS-not sure if it is just me, but the pics don't come up in the archives????

Billy , I am so glad you are feeling better. Camp Freddy radio is no good without you.
I am thrilled about you puttiing new songs here for download.squee! The site looks great. You know what everyone here is great.

Posted by: Terri at October 11, 2005 05:21 AM

Billy, so happy you're feeling better. I love your ideas, making your own music, and putting it on here, wonderful! And free from the restraints of the biz too. I haven't stopped laughing at today's photo! :D
(What the heck is going on there?) 'Dude, who's flying the plane', Wendy that's got me laughing even more!!! Good one!

Billy: "Hey, that's my passport!"

Alright, well I don't know exactly what I was talking about either with the xml, rss stuff, that's why I asked.
Let me try to rephrase it.
You have 'syndicate this site [xml]' at the bottom of the right column. It goes to a page with what looks like code on it, which is xml (as far as I know). I have an area on my yahoo 360 that I can put 'feeds' in; or "share feeds". I'm supposed to put the address, and http:// address in the little rectangular box they've provided. Then your blog posts will show up in my yahoo 360, and should update when you post.
Yahoo has all these instructions, and they make no sense at all. Something about xml to rss. As far as I can make out, I should be able to put the url that is at the top of your xml (syndicate this site) page in my 'share feeds' and that's it.
But that didn't work. My mind is boggling, and it's supposed to be simple.

Well, I'll keep on it. Bug a few people on yahoo and such.

Loads of love, Lisa xxxx

Here's the link to my yahoo 360 page, so you can see what the heck I'm going on about.
The middle box that has "Feeds" as a header~
I've put the URL from your xml page, in there, but get no content.

And...

LOVE the idea of your own music w/out labels, tags, companies, agents out on your site.

So glad you are feeling better, and Allison, heal quickly.

"You didn't tell me he was doing my medical today!"

Happy feeling well day! Isn't it grand when you can taste your food again? Tastebuds...imagine.

I can empathize with how upsetting the music business is. Permit me to go on a rant.....In the 70's, the co's were still greedy, but they knew in order to keep making $$$, they had to invest in quality performers. Floyd had til their 5th album to get it right! Now, content is almost been completely forgotten about in favor of celebrity or mass production and the No. 1 hit. Sheer #'s. Of course there is good stuff out there, but it seems you have to go the alternative route to get to your audience instead of relying on your record company.

Then of course, when you become successful monetarily, the record co's come crawling to you, like they did to Ani Di Franco once her label starting taking off for her. Do what makes you feel the most comfortable so you don't have to keep suppressing your talent :D /rant

So corporate CF shows? lol.....
If the CA one is for Sundance, what's the Vegas gig for?

Billy Glad to hear the hacking has ceased. Here is you caption" Whaddya' mean this is the train to HEAVEN, damn it,... i am gunna miss the party now"!

rofl at all the captions...that medical one has got me thinking...I daren't even say what!!!

Posted by: ylais at October 11, 2005 10:03 AM

Billy,
I got the hook up for the LA gig next week, (my 6th show)and wanted to run a request by you. Some old school Van Halen to mix the set up a little. I'm imagining the grin on both you and Dave while playing the intro to "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love" or "Atomic Punk" or whatever your favorite is.
Also, can you mention where the Vegas show "definitely will not be".

Posted by: Digger at October 11, 2005 11:05 AM

Caption: "Can you get me a suit just like his? Do you think I can pull it off"

I am loving your plans for the site, Billy! The concept of all Billy, all the time works for me!!! ;) Now...just add live, streaming video to the mix and it would be perfect!!! lol

So glad you're feeling better...have a good day!

Posted by: ylais at October 11, 2005 01:12 PM

Well, I still can't see this blog on my yahoo 360 page no matter what browser I use. Must be some conflict between yahoo and Mac going on as usual.
Now I'll write an email to yahoo about it as usual.
Dum-de-dum...sauntering away...

Posted by: ylais at October 11, 2005 01:19 PM

Slaps head..Wait a minute..Beth already put "This is a stick up gimme all your sushi" apologies, sleepy after dinner.. okay...sauntering off again singing "Turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so..."

Captain: Just one of the extra security services we offer...and the reason I love my job!!!

By the way....I'M BACK!!!! One week without internet at the "house of mouse" was almost more than I could bear. The boy had an excellent time, so it was worth it. But I missed you like mad. Sorry to see you've been ill, but glad you're feeling better.

Posted by: UncleCreepy at October 11, 2005 03:25 PM

Hey Billy, good to hear all is well.

Are you now a Bonaduce fan? That man is crazy. It just premiered here on VH1 and it is the most intense show. Half of me wants him to get on track and be the happy family man without the pills, alcohol, anger etc. while the other half of me wants him to totally break down but only because of the fact that it would make for some excellent television. But if I had to choose which one, I would have to go for the happy ending only because there are real people involved. Hopefully you understand what I mean...

Take care all...

Posted by: Simon at October 11, 2005 04:00 PM

GREAT idea Billy! A no pressure, no expectations, just doing what you love sort of deal.

So I've finally caught up with Lost (thank you Tivo!!) And I've been sorting through websites all day. Each one gives you another 10 links! I haven't even dived into the conspiracy theories, I read a few, but they get to be WAY too complicated!

Anyway, as for the caption (you can tell where my mind is): "Where's the tail of the plane?!?"
