OVER IT.....

BillyAlt.jpg

Sometimes I get a touch disillusioned by all the behind-the-scenes goings on in my life, and today is one of those days. I can't really go into detail, because I don't want to disrespect anyone in particular. All I can say is that a lot of crazy logistics and planning goes into each and every Camp Freddy show, and most of the time it is a pleasure to be involved. And sometimes - just sometimes - some things turn up that blow my mind and leave me feeling flat and useless. Maybe I shouldn't be writing this on here but who cares. I am 100% confident that by the return flight home tonight, I will be feeling great, having just played another rockin' Camp Freddy show in Las Vegas. But right now, I sit here typing, with my coffee and cigarettes blazing, and just feel so overwhelmed with small, minute details that have been occurring in the last 24 hours, and just ...... well ........ whatever.

Yesterdays TV taping was a VH-1 show called The List. It was a long afternoon but a lot of fun. David Alan Grier was the host of the show, and four of us sat about debating who is the real number one Desperate Housewife!! My two choices were Catherine Zeta Jones, and Peg Bundy. We debated each choice, and just kinda hung out for the whole show. Cant really say who won (not that its a national secret or anything - just doesn't seem right) but I had a blast doing it, and hope to do more of them.

And your captions had me laughing out loud this morning. I knew that pic would solicite a great reaction. Creepys "I coulda had a V-8" was genius, and Kate - you have no idea how accurate your caption is!!! Jezzi's Lost-based caption was hilarious, and Sue ..... you KNOW the caffeine headache was on me that night!! All the captions were brilliant and I thank you all for lightening my load this morning.

I will sort out the quality of the downloads from the Radio Page. I need to get this weekend out of the way, and then I believe Allison and I are meeting next week to discuss the final tweaks on the BillyMorrison blog, and the first steps of the new Camp Freddy site. So I will make sure that the Radio page gets new versions of the songs.

So I am gonna go try and get my head into a positive state - I'll catch y'all next week. Todays pic is courtesy of Beth - thank you very much. ALWAYS sneak cameras in - what we dont know, doesnt hurt us!!

Peace

Billy

Billy! First off, let me tell you something...I love CAMP FREDDY! I have been lucky enough to be at three shows now, and each one has been a unique and memorable experience. I have also enjoyed EVERY CFR broadcast that you have been a part of. I guess what I want to say here, is, I don't pretend to know the behind the scenes stuff that you might have to put up with, but please know, that the end result makes me VERY HAPPY, and I am sure I speak for a lot of us!

ok, mushy stuff aside, have a blast today, I can't wait to hear how the set goes, and I know with your vast array of toys, you will have fun on the plane!
By the way, can you post a bigger version of the pic I saw on Wireimage of you and Jen at Jenni Kayne event last night? I never tire of seeing happily married couples, it gives me hope

love!

Ok...Billy has given us an order. We shall all waddle into every show from now on! Gotta luv it!

Billy, sorry the ins&outs of the business got in the way of a supreme time, but you know this, too, shall pass. We adore the end product, so I hope that knowledge helps to make the BS easier to deal with.

So go forth, have a kick ass day & a kick ass show tonight!

Sorry to hear about all that 'behind-the-scenes' stuff. Don't let the bastards get you down! :P
Once I was in a tight corner and I went to the Citizen's Advice Bureau here, and the man who saw me, was so professor-like, intelligent, efficient; and I thought it was freaking hilarious when he said, "Don't let the bastards get you down." So if I feel bummed out, or someone shocks me with some backstabbing, or whatever, I picture that in my head and laugh.

I know you do tons of work to get each Camp Freddy show together; but also Camp Freddy has a life of its own now. Like a masterpiece.

Love and hugs, Lisa xxxx

I can't pretend to know what you are feeling this morning, just please know that the music you play sure makes a lot of people happy. So whatever or whomever it is, tell em to bugger off! Hope tonight goes well for you and we look forward to hearing about it. Glad you liked the picture.

Hey Billy,

As for the ins and outs...business, I know alot who have gone through this. Especially the way it is lately. As annoying and frustrating as that side is, and as easy as it is to get caught up in that, what it comes down to is remembering why you loved playing, the music, your instrument enough in the first place to motivate you to get to the point in your life where you are now. I know you know alot of this already and I'm not telling you anything new, but it never hurts to be reminded! Sometimes you need to when it comes to dealings like what you describe. Most importantly when you are dealing with people who know nothing about music, or live shows and only know $$$....

You gotta know that once you get onstage, all bets are off! ha ha. You can do whatever you'd like. It's your turf. And at least it's only one show and not an entire tour! Just a bump in the road. We all look forward to more shows. And by the sound of it, you all will be alot more relaxed when you play too.

Chin up, Stay crazy!

What more can I add to the above. It's all true and we adore you billy. ;)

My choice for desparate housewife would be Peg Bundy. She rocks and I love her. LOL

Billy,

So fictional characters were okay to choose as Desperate Housewives?
And why do I always forget Catherine Zeta Jones' name? I mean she's from Wales, you'd figure I'd remember that.
Good choice I'd say there. I guess, after seeing so much about her over here. Not from Welsh TV channels. No, from English TV. I don't think the Welsh are that thrilled, or even give a damn.

No Billy and Billy repeat on CFR. :(

Is there anyway we can have, or listen to that particular CFR show?

Indie were very nice in their reply to my email. I was impressed. I don't know who replied, but he/she was friendly and made me feel like my emails were welcome. Always a good thing.

Please let us know when The List show you're on airs.

Cheers,
Love
Lisa
