LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL
The sun is shining, the birds are ....... HOLD ON..... its actually very grey outside, there are no birds of any kind making any noises, and I am in my office, hacking up large chunks of what appears to be my insides. And I am actually starting to feel better!! I have been going out of my mind with boredom this week - confined to staying at home, I missed a business meeting in Vegas yesterday, have not set foot out of my home for days, and have watched everything I possibly could on TV. I did, however, start learning Macromedia's Flash program. Oh, the possibilities!! I made a couple of simple things just by playing around, and now I wanna learn it properly. I suppose being sick has its benefits - you do stuff that you have been meaning to do for ages, and finally you are presented with the time to do them. So thats really what I have been doing. Learning computer programs and watching TV.
Check it out - and dont laugh!!!
I think I'll get out a bit today - I just cannot stay in here any longer. So a trip to Starbucks, a visit to the Mall to buy a new coffee maker (bring on the all-singing, all dancing Krupps black and stainless steel wonder machine!!!) and maybe a tentative Pilates session tomorrow. That might be pushing it, but the coffee shit is definately getting done!!
I now have the opportunity to check how the sites look on a PC. We bought a Sony Vaio yesterday (Dont ask why ..... I am still 100% Mac-head. Jen needed one, so what the hell - now we have a cross platform network) and I was able to check out the blog on that. It looked fine to me, with no noticable differences. So success.
Jezzi - Of course you can select some tracks when you come on the show. And I like your suggestions just fine! Email us a few days before and I will make sure we have your selections ready to go.
Selks - PVFS??!! Jesus, where do they come up with this shit!!! And Me Vs Navarro in Poker??? Oh God, Dave would completely wipe the floor with me. That guy actually plays cards - I just throw money on the table and shout random phrases like "21!!", "Stick", and "Bingo!!!"
Alec - Sensible choice. Dave's signature Yamaha is a beautiful instrument. And who knows - maybe 2006 might yield a guitar of my own. You never know.
Jay - Hilarious!! The Clap!! Yeah, the most unlikely name for that condition!! And Cat Scratch Fever .... what the hell is that??!
Terri and Kate - Thank you so much. These LOST sites have kept me busy for hours. I love the theories and loved being able to watch the Orientation video again on the Hanso site. Christ, what a geek I am. Someone book another show quickly and get me back onstage!!!
Junebug - ....er....actually ...... still smoking. What can I say. But I am going to attempt to do the CFR show today. Unless I get worn out buying a coffee maker, I figure I can sit in a chair and play CD's, right? And yes - pictures and artwork can still be emailed. Just click on the ..... ahh ...... well spotted. I have set up an email address for this blog, but there is no link just yet. I'll see about getting that up here soon.
Beth - Wow. I'm not even going to try spelling that one. But it sounds gnarly. I am glad you overcame it though.
Thats it for now. Anyone in the USA can tune in to NBC's Extra tonight as they will be running a segment on the recent Camp Freddy benefit show at the Key Club. And CFR will be on between 6pm and 8pm as normal. Hopefully, I will be a part of it! Until next time, thank you all for your well wishes, and here's to a nice, chilled weekend. With any luck, I will be able to get back into some music next week, as the work is piling up and I am dying to finish up the last of some tracks I have lying around.
For now -
Peace
Billy

Good Morning Billy! Your description of your Poker, uh, prowess (for lack of a better term) had me in stitches! Perhaps it's just as well you missed that trip to Vegas ;)
So glad you're feeling better...have a great day :D

Billy,
Unfortunately last weeks CFR isn't available through Dave's site and I was unable to listen live.
Was wondering if you got a chance to rock live "Nirvana" by The Cult?
Anyone?
Thanks,
Jay

Glad you're starting to feel better. Like the Flash, no laughing here. I know how incredibly hard it is to learn new programs and you should see how proud I am when I learn something. For me, it seems the older I get the longer it takes me to learn something. ;)
I have a TV show for you to check out billy, if you've never seen it before. I don't believe it's currently running in the US, at one time I think BBCUS ran it. It's called "Trailer Park Boys" and just finished it's 5th season. Seasons 1-4 can be purchased on DVD which is my first purchase after xmas. It's the funniest thing I've ever seen, filmed next door in Nova Scotia and believe me, I grew up in a trailer park and know some people like in this show. It's a riot and has quite the cult following in Canada and the US. I'm sending seasons 1-2 to a friend in Delaware for xmas, he'll love it. ;)
Anyway, off I go to answer email. Everyone complains that I take 2-3 weeks to answer them, I just call it laziness. ;)
smooches,
tina

Hey Billy am I right in thinking you were at Ozzy's house for the X-Factor final seven performances. There was a guy there who was the spit of you. If yes what did you think of the folks.
I'll email you some flash tuition tips to get you started, not just how to do it but the most important thing, I feel, 'workflow' hoe to start from a blank screen and have an approach to getting it filled with stuff.
Check out www.flashkit.com it's got loads of downlaodable flash files, many in gloriously foreign langauges to screw up your actionscript.
Stay frosty.

Your flashing is lovely.
Glad to hear you are feeling better, but don't over-do it! It feels like fall today here in Orange County, I love this cooler weather. Hope you got your new coffee maker, I have a Keurig (keurig.com).

Hiya all! Glad you're feeling better Billy. Cool Flash. Love how Flash makes the graphics and text much clearer. I'd like to learn how to use it too; but I'm spending my time learning the audio software, a portable digital recording studio I got recently, my new phone, still learning guitar..I get bored if I'm not learning something. But yesterday I had one of those horrible nothing's working, it's broken days. An update I downloaded for my HP printer stalled on installing..hours of sorting out
thanks to that, the phone wasn't working, the digi recorder sponataneously erased the music saved on the SD card..arghh.. I was scared to touch anything in case it fell apart!!! :D
Anyway, did anyone see the CF segment on NBC Extra? How was it? Is there anyway we can see it?
Love Lisa xxxx

Hey Billy,
Being stuck in Scotland means I'm still to see Camp Freddy. Am I ever going to get to see you guys? Hope your feeling better soon man.

Billy, I am glad you are feeling better. But please still take it easy ! That walking pneumonia can come back to bite you. I know I had it twice last winter. I would think I was better and having cabin fever would go out and do things, and it came back like the scary creature it is.
If anyone has not caught Extras , Ricky Grevais's new show on HBO , do so tonight at 10:30. It is hysterical.

"Do you have any...ummm...er...4's?"
"GO FISH!"
"SNAP!!!!!" "SNAP!!!!!" "I said it first"
"No you didn't I did!" "My hand is under yours"
"You pushed my hand out of the way!!!! It's mine"
"No it's mine"
"I'm not moving my hand"
"Me neither"
Oo oO Oo oO

Dave C and I drove back to the town I bought the mobile phone in, 5 miles away, to get it replaced.
So when we parked, I turned on the mobile phone, and it bloody worked! The WAP works in that town, but not in my town. So it's working, can't go in and have them check it and say it's not now. Decide, what the heck, I like the phone. I'll keep it. I don't use WAP much. I'll send my photos to web when I'm out of town. There's a USB cable for upload I've discovered, but then found out it's for PC only. (insert grumble about there not being stuff for MACs)
Dave C. spots a cafe right next to where we parked. He says let's go get tea, coffee, a snack. So we get out. I'm at the entrance to the cafe, and he yells out, "I locked the keys in the car!"
It's cold out. I'm not dressed for it. I'm pissed off, after all the other stuff going on. Usually I'd laugh. We get a cab home, he knocks on next door, who think it's hilarious, and are laughing at him, and they're having a kid's party there, so they all think it's incredibly funny. He climbs over their wall, to our garden, gets in the back door, hunts for the spare keys, thankfully finds them. (in one of my handbags. It's amazing he can actually find things when he has to!!! :P)
Get cab back, and the cost is £26!!! Oo
Ahh! This is the life!!!!

Billy, I'm trying to syndicate your blog to my yahoo 360 'share feeds'. I can't figure out how to do it. Yahoo's instructions on how to do xml to rss are bewildering, and probably they aren't right for Mac users. All I need is an addy for it to syndicate, but what's the addy? Lisa xxxx
