HAPPY HALLOWEEN

KarenBillyKeyboard.jpg

Good morning everyone. I am back in town after a few days in Dallas. Unexpected family thing. But I am back and raring to go. And I have to say that GTA for the PSP is amazing!! The experience of riding motorcycles around Liberty City is just as good on the portable Playstation as it is on the real thing. Alec - Go buy it NOW!!! And Layer Cake (which I watched on the PSP on the way out) is such a great movie. The Cult's She Sells Sanctuary is the first song in the movie, and in fact the whole soundtrack is very cool. Daniel Craig is perfect as the drug dealer trying to get out of the business and Michael Gambon is the perfect English Crime Lord. A wonderful romp through London's underworld a la Snatch and Lockstcock. Here endeth my review. Just for you Terri. And by the way .... I LOVE karen's version of the computer keyboard. Check out todays top picture.

Now then - I really dont know anything about this December Camp Freddy show, other than it is on Dec 4th, its in Las Vegas, and it is the Camel Cigarettes Sin City Tour. I was told there will be some tickets available, and once I get the venue details and ticket details, I will post them here. Let me see what I can find out this week.

Regarding this site - Allison has worked really hard to get everything happening, and I think we are almost there. The Radio and TV pages need work, but other than that, I believe all the links work, everything looks how we want it, and I will, eventually, upload all the relevant pics in the archives. That takes time, so be patient. But other than that - Is everyone happy with the way the blog is working now?

SSSpumpkin.jpg

Big massive respec' goes out to SSS. Check out her 2005 Rock And Roll Pumpkin. I think it's me, but either way it has to be the most rock and roll carving this year, right? People who have been around a few years will remember her Cult pumpkins, which I put on top of the amps at a Cult show, and Ian smashed at the end of the show!! I wanna wish her, and all of you lot a very Happy Halloween. I trust you will all be dressing up as Michael Meyers and terrorising the neighborhood tonight. Not sure if I will be going out yet - it gets really crazy around my house and can take an hour to get out of the driveway!! But I have a bunch of movies for the occasion. House Of Wax (lets see if Paris can actually act!), The Ring 2 (not as good as the first, or the Japanese ones, but worth a showing on the big Plasma) and Land Of The Dead (George Romero's new Zombie film.... the fourth in 'The Dead' series) - so either way, I have my quota of chills filled for tonight.

D-Wez - I havent spoken to Rob in quite a while, so I have no idea what he's thinking! I wish him well, and yeah .... that is one weird piece of internet right there!!! The green color is staying on the blog (cos I think it works too!) so rest easy.

Kim - Nice to hear from you. Glad you are still around. Enjoy the archives.

Redpill - Isn't that strange? That you pay more to have less on your guitar??!! And I was being a little sarcastic in my last reply. I am actually lucky enough to get my guitars directly from Gibson, built as I like them. Both my 'Camp Freddy' customs were built by Steve Christmas in Nashville (beautiful instruments) and I have spoken with them about a 'Morrison' model for me for next year. We'll see if it actually happens.

Nina - Wow! A blast from the past. Welcome to the blog. Hope all is good, and that you enjoy the Morrison Family Experience. HA!!! The M.F.E. ...... I love it!!!

RP - The only advice I have for the studio is to remain open minded. Try anything that is suggested, because you never know what will end up sounding cool. Have fun.

Jay - 24 Hour Party People was a great film. It definately captured the scene and the time well. Billy Duffy (who was actually at that Pistols gig in Manchester that they show) said that the whole thing was pretty accurate, and from the few times I have met Shaun Ryder, I would have to say that they really did a good job capturing the vibe of the times.

OK. Thats it. I'm gone. Things to do, places to go, people to see, games to play, movies to watch. Have a great Halloween everyone, and give all yer candy to the kids. Back tomorrow.

Peace

Billy

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Halloween and to be careful out there. Billy, hope you enjoy your DVD's - I worked on the Land of the Dead bonus features, so let me know how they look. I especially love the piece the Shaun of the Dead guys did :)

Happy Halloween (Samhain) everyone!
Oooooo.. trick or treaters at the door-and I was
just going to say where the hell are all the trick or treaters-they came last week too early- aww..the little boy sang a song, it went, "We are the witches of Halloween". Too cute. :D Ooo...more more little and big kids singing. That's so adorable. They act like it's Christmas Caroling here.
What I did today:went shopping to get Halloween treats! Ended up with a long black skirt, and 3 black shirts for me too. Been watching spooky movies last few nights already, and freaking myself out. Got the candles burning. Jack O Lantern outside to scare off evil spirits. Done some tarot readings.
Eating maltesers. I always eat those watching movies, especially scary ones.

Billy, there's an ad on Sky TV here right now, that has "She Sells Sanctuary" on it. Well, it's for a Man Utd programme, something like the "20 best Man Utd goals ever" Oo But when that ad comes on I always think, "Hey, Duffy isn't too fond of Man U and they're playing his song!!!!!" Makes me giggle a bit. I mean what's with that?! :D

Hugs

Just stoppin' in to say Hi...
I also have to agree, looove the Green color and the blog setup and love the keyboard pic. ooh glowwwwyyyy....:)

Happy Halloween! Billy, does it really look different in L.A. on Halloween compared to any other day? lol
As for scary and/or just plain out weird movies, have you ever seen the movie Gothic w/Gabriel Byrne? Pretty out there.

Getting Gibson's custom is righteous. I always wanted them to come out with a Steve Clark model Gibson LP Custom. At the very least in tribute, but they never have. Lord knows the boy was loyal to his brand! He had some of the nicest customs I've seen them make in the past 20 yrs. Anyway, best guitars ever.

Eat chocolate kids!

Happy Halloween all! Hopefully I can get home in time to get into my goth vampira gear before the kidlets start showing up.

Allison is an official Goddess for her fabulous work here. All Hail Allison!

Have a good one and don't OD on the confections tonight!

Hey Billy,

Just finished scaring the children and passing out candy. I love to dress up kinda spooky and have the children walk the pathway up to the house (lighted by carved jack-o-lanterns) where I am waiting with the goodies. I beckon them as they walk saying "come children, come and claim your reward for being so brave". And then as I hand them the candy I'll say stuff like...."my, don't you children look absolutely DELICIOUS tonight?" I go easy on the young ones, but the Junior High School kids that are bordering on "I'm-too-old-and-cool-for-this-but-I-really-want-the-candy" are the best. It's fun to "creep them out" as one kid said tonight. Hope everyone enjoyed the evening as much as I did. And Billy, the blog is looking GREAT!! Allison has done a wonderful work here. Glad you're home safe and sound. ~Bonita

Done answering the door! Best costume of the night goes to the 8-year-old girl dressed up as Ace Frehley. Cute.

Happy Halloween & welcome back Billy! I can't imagine what a nightmare it is where you live. I live right off of Hollywood and all the freaks are out - traffic was a bitch! I'd also love to see pics, you should have answered the door in the pig man mask! Let me know how Land of the Dead is... you're officially a part-time movie reviewer it seems.

Hey thanks Steph - good to see you around again! Even though it's my favorite day of the year, I passed out through most of Halloween night! I experienced enough of the vibe from my balcony. Hey girls, where are the Doheny chat people going these days during CFR?

And an early Happy Birthday to Jezzi!

Who is going to brave LA-to-Vegas if possible to get tix for CF in December? Email me, I can fit in your trunk :)

That pumpkin rocks, SSS!

Hiya. I've been telling Dave C. once again about the name of my radio show years ago, and where it came from. He's been swearing up and down, that he's heard the name before, and I keep telling him, "Yeah from me!" rofl. Honestly, we have the silliest back and forth discussions sometimes. Halloween seems to bring up these past things too. Time of year. Ancestors coming home. All of that stuff.
So here's a past post I made over on 6767, thanks to Dave C. trying to prove he'd heard the name before (pmsl) How it got the name is a different story:

"Here's some of my blast from the past~when I was a college radio DJ, I called my show, "The Ever-Hyperbolic Experiment", and I loved the Cult, and opened the show every time with their song, "She's Sells Sanctuary." When I saw them in concert in NYC, I screamed like a Banshee.
Dave, can you tell Morrison that please, if you remember~I know we all tell you tons of stuff on here! :D
Good to see him with you.
Love Lisa xxxx,( yet again!)

Laughing at the vision of Billy opening the door to trick or treaters with a pig's head on. :D
Is it really that mad where you are Billy?

Posted by: ylais at November 1, 2005 02:21 AM

Billy, I agree with Alec, get a my space page. lol.
then we can bug you even more...and you can read our bulletins, and partake of all that silliness!
:D

Billy - i had a feeling that you perhaps got some freebies from Gibson!! You dawg!!
Please make sure if you get the Morrison Model that you have them build it without the scratchplate and offer it in Alpine White!
I had to wait for Navarro model to get a White PRS and it drove me crazy... Something about white guitars... They have that 58 Caddy look to them!
