FLASH AND HOW TO BE IT.....

BeautyBuffet.jpg

Hmm. Not sure where this pic is from, but huge white chocolate cars deserve to be seen ...... and eaten! I think it was taken at an event last year, but I found it on thebookla.com site. So here it is.
First of all, welcome back to the land of the living, Allison. And a HUGE shout out to David who is being a big encouragement with the Flash stuff I am learning. As you will see, I have been burning the midnight oil, knocking up bits and pieces of simple Flash and getting them up here. The banner at the top of this page isnt quite finished yet - there is a background to add, and it needs to be a touch bigger, but I am getting there slowly. And also, thanks to Allison, I managed to get the other sites "Coming Soon" pages up. But don't hold your breath .....Coming Soon actually means 'coming when I have finished tweaking BillyMorrison.net and I have nothing else to do!!!' But its a lot of fun, and ultimately I will have a lot more control over the look, feel and content of all the sites. And as we all know, its about control, right??

Allison is also tweaking the Radio page. It will look a little more streamlined and the hidden links will be taken down, and instead, you will have a proper MP3 player with a playlist, and the songs will be played from that. Again, as we all have lives (believe it or not!) these changes will be made when we have time. Suffice to say that I care about this web presence and will continue to make it a place thats cool and fun to be at.

So, let me see ......
Theresa - LOVE QOTSA. Totally original sounding, and absolutely the real deal. And lovely guys too.

SSS - Haven't seen Mike since the touring stopped. And you are right. The pics in the archives are not there. Too much work to import them from the old blog. Maybe one day when life stands still?

Lisa - I believe your XML/RSS thingy has been sorted out now. Good for you. Nice to know I am not the only one staring at a screen, muttering to myself and getting a neck ache!! Oh yeah, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Muse - The Vegas show is the grand opening of a new club on the strip.

I knew that pic would generate some great captions. Lisa has to be up in the top three with the 'Scott Weiland' caption. That made me crack up. And all the medical ones were great, too. Ahh, its the little things in life that give me so much pleasure........Right, on with the day. Pilates at 10.00am, and some work on a track for the movie that apparently we will be shooting a video for - I'll let you know more about that when they tell me the deal. I am sure there will be the usual frantic emails and phonecalls about these two Freddy shows. It doubles the stress when we do two shows so close to each other. We get confused as to what show we are working on! I also need to go get myself a black I-Pod Nano (SO cute looking) and another monitor for the studio. Decided the whole 'double widescreen' monitor set up just HAS to be organized! So thanks to everyone here, welcome to anyone just finding the site, and keep spreading the word. In the immortal words of Valentino ......... CIAO, BELLA!!!

What about the new iPod that Apple unveiled yesterday?

Posted by: Eric at October 13, 2005 10:11 AM

iPod Nano!!! I got a black one a few weeks ago... I love it, it is so tiny! I'm waiting for the covers to be shipped, it seems like it would get scratched easy. Although, it will look pastel instead of black after putting a cover on it...

Also, the links on the front page of billymorrison.net to go through to the blog aren't working...

Billy, i saw this a the web regarding the new I-Pod. I link it posted but I think this paragrpah is all you want to hear:

'Under a new deal with Hollywood's Disney studio, US iPod owners will be able to download the latest episodes of popular shows such as Desperate Housewives and Lost the day after they air for just $US1.99 an episode.'

I've had this discussion before about iPods. I'm a Mac fan too, thought the Nano was the best iPod Apple have ever devised but I maintain my Palm Tungsten T is the best little device ever [though I would have preferred a T3]. I got it on ebay for £65 ($114) with a 500MB MMC card. Installed RealPlayer on it and it's great.

MP3's, calendar functions, games (Sonic, and a Command and Conquer type one), Addresses, books (John Carter from Mars, soon to be a film), Bluetooth and Kinoma Player shows video too. Some guy on the train had one and he'd be watching TV programmes from the night before on his.

They do everything and more than an iPod and can be cheaper if you get an older one. They're just a bit bigger, and have less disk space.

So now the question is, will QOTSA ever play with Camp Freddy? That would just be extra orgasmic!

If I had a car, I'd be going crazy trying to win tickets to the Vegas show, that is - if you actually give some away. Roadtrip anyone?

My little brother is going to be in town in about an hour, too bad there's no shows going on while he's here. He got to see CF w/me in NYC last year, and he's hooked. He will most likely call into CFR tomorrow... hopefully there will be a new one for him to call into and you'll be in attendance.

Thats what happens when you meet the boys. They are so down to earth and fun. YOU JUST GET HOOKED. I am a new comer to CF family. When I met Billy, that was it,..... I WAS HOOKED!

Good morning Billy & all. Thanks for the help, looks like we are finally getting some results.

The flash is looking fabulous! I bow to your superior tweaking skills!

Can't wait for CFR tomorrow night. Ok..we know Dave's take on ABBA...what's yours?

Ah, one more.. since it's October and nearing Halloween, thought I'd mention a great show on the Travel Channel (of all places) called "Most Haunted". It's a British show, featuring Yvette Fielding and Derek Acorah. They go into reportedly haunted locations, equipped with video cameras, mediums, historians and skeptics. It's probably the best out there for capturing on film otherworldly activity. I'm completely addicted to this show. They've had things thrown at them, plenty of 'orbs' captured on film, lots of fun. Just in case your TIVO wasn't doing anything tonight.

I hate to say this but I have to. When, I went to a wedding this summer, and took photos of people on the dance floor, that was full of disco lighting; I showed the photos to the bride, and she was saying, oooo.. there's an orb in this pic, and another orb in that next to someone (insert a name here) and I wanted to laugh so hard. I mean come on expensive disco lights. A disco ball. All very well done and run by a computer. People thought the lights caught on film were 'orbs'. I was going to myself, "What the hell is an 'orb'? That's obviously the lights." Cameras catch all kinds of things. I don't know how I managed to keep a straight face. I'm cracking up now.
Most of those weird otherworldly things you see are the flash of the camera reflecting off dust, or dirt; and people take those photos on purpose, and throw dirt up to get the ghostly reflection. Or you get reflections off the camera lenses. Including movie cameras. Glass, it reflects light. Believe or it not.
Sorry, please forgive me for my horrible skeptic attitude. It's not that I don't believe in the otherworldly, it's that I know how they do those tricks. (Light and shadow, playing with people's perceptions)

I found this great picture of the dharma swan symbol and the shark symbols. I am starting to think this "LOST" thing with the numbers mean something...HELP!

Posted by: Alec from camp teddy at October 14, 2005 02:59 PM

Billy, luv Dust and Parts of a Machine by Doheny.

I'm not sure what Lost topics and clues I can talk about.
Aren't some of you from the UK and a season behind?
Billy go with the I pod and PLEASE don't let Dave play Abba.

Ylais, I understand your skepticism. Let me just say... I've seen a lot, personally. Like a beer can doing a 360 directly in front of me the day my dad passed away. No one else's glass or can moved. Just the one in front of me. Tight little circle in one spot.

Anywho, I just find the whole thing intriguing.

Billy ~ thanx for the phone call that led to a phone call that led to an email....YOU ROCK!
Glad you're feeling better.

@Kate ~ I love Most Haunted! Did you watch tonight?...with the generator coming on?...at least one of them must have peed their pants! lol

@ylais - The Orbs may not have been real in the disco pics but they are a real phenomena...well, they've at least made some cool music anyway. ROFL!
No, really, orbs are a sign of a spirit manifesting...really.

Posted by: laurie tuttle at October 14, 2005 11:56 PM

rofl @ laurie. i do believe in strange phenomenon, and 'the spirit world', or 'the dreamtime'. but i remain a skeptic as well. i'm such a paradox.
i'll stick to the scientific explanations. Most Haunted..I can't watch it. I keep going, "Oh come on, man that's a trick!" But I can understand people's intrigue. If I didn't have a fascination with that stuff, I wouldn't spend my time reasoning out what's going on. Kind of like Johnathan Creek. (:D) Then again, I've had my own experiences I can't explain. Well, I can, but I'd start rambling on about shamanism, and stuff...so
wait for the book. :P (not really. i'll talk about that in person, but not on the net publicly)

And..that's why I studied psychology, and perception. There's loads of ways to fool our senses. (perception) Think about what advertisers do.
