BATTERED, BRUISED AND SMILING.

SingingAlt.jpg

Oh my aching back!!! Running around like a lunatic for an hour or so really took its toll on my body for some reason. Maybe the fact that I just got over Pneumonia might have something to do with it!! Anyway, I wake up this morning, and I just lay around, feeling my shoulders and my back, and wincing in pain!! ALWAYS the sign of a good night! So it was a success for Camp Freddy yesterday. I dont think the suited corporate audience were planning on being rocked that loud, for that long. But we did what we do, and did it well. From where I was standing, we sounded tight and heavy, and from the look on their faces, the audience thought so too!! Scott Weiland, Jerry Cantrell, Jordis Unger, Billy Duffy, Ty Taylor, Steve Jones, Mark McGrath and Macy Gray all took it in turns to rock out, and after an 11th hour cramming session by Dave and myself (we didnt know we were going to do this song until we got there), we pulled the STP classic, Crackerman, out of our asses and blazed the song! Weiland looked every inch the consumate Rock Star, as he spun and weaved his way through that, and the Doors song, Roadhouse Blues. He stayed onstage (must have been having a great time!) and sung I Wanna Be Your Dog with me, as all the guitarists and singers got back onstage for the finale. And before I move on, I have to say ....TY TAYLOR and JORDIS UNGER!!! Both of those kids have pipes to die for .... Ty did Whole Lotta Love, and Jordis did Feel Like Makin Love - and both of them just rocked their songs. Unbelievable voices, and beautiful people as well. Thanks to everyone for making the Camp Freddy party happen.

Onwards and into Thursday, and I have some research to do for a TV show I shoot tomorrow. More details once I have done it, but it involves me having an opinion about something..... and I am very selective about what I have opinions about!! So I need to read up about the subjects and form an opinion or two before I go in front of the cameras tomorrow!! Oh God - they're actually going to ask me to argue my case. I have NEVER been good at that. But whatever - I'm always up for a challenge, and in any case, who cares, right??!!

I have got a little overwhelmed with the whole HTML/Site thing, and have realized that a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. Most of the changes you see on the Blog right now are a direct result of me messing with the code without talking to Allison first. She gets things sorted out, and then I come along and tweak until it doesnt work again!! So I will NOT be doing that in future!! I will meet with Allison soon, get this shit sorted once and for all, and then ..... I promise to leave it alone!! There are three other sites to be built around here, so I feel I should stop obsessing about the minute details of this one, and get my ass into gear on the other three. How did I EVER survive without computers and the internet?. .. ... .. Oh yeah, thats right .... we actually had conversations back then. Weird.

Camp Freddy radio will be a repeat this weekend as we are off to Vegas on Saturday to do the whole CF thing over again. But the following week will be an all-new, live CFR. And I will be back here tomorrow, checking on your posts, and trying not to tweak the damn code anymore. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Now go and have a nice day people. Cos I intend to. Life is a blast, and its out there waiting for all of us. Just don't take the brown acid.

Peace

Billy

Sounds like a great Camp Freddy night!
Thanks for the pics, the story. I just downloaded your music, so many thanks for the music too.
Giggling about you tweaking things, and Allison coming back and fixing it. :D
I've had a migraine for 2 days plus. Wahh!
Been knocked out on migraleve. Just letting everyone know, cos that's why I haven't been on the net as much. Or replying to emails, etc.

Love to all,
Lisa

Billy,

Dave's site listed you and Duffy on "Love Removal Machine" at the Sundance CF gig, shall I take it you did the vox and if so, were the proper about of "baby's" dispersed?

Still needing good denim hints if you get a chance.

A good Thursday to all.

Kick ass pics...do you have any with Jordis Unga in them? Would love to see that. As I leftin a post on Dave's site, I will do here. You guys should head north and do a show or two here in Seattle, A.K.A. Jerry Cantrell's old stompin' grounds. I saw he and Duffy do a show a while back as the Cardboard Vampyres and the kicked ass. I just think it would be well received and think of the Seattle rockers you could get to guest star...

I for one am enjoying watching the website develop. Great job to you and Allison. If I have found one thing, getting in and messing with it like you have is the best way to learn it. Have a great day and rest up for Vegas...have a feeling you'll need it!

Howdy Billy glad to see your having fun, sad to hear about the demise of Doheny.

2 questions.

1. Any idea where I can get my hands on some Unkles or Unkle Futuras for non extautionate prices.

2. Is there anyway you would give people access to individual doheny tracks, if they still exist so people could havea go at remixing things?

Still waiting on your return to London!

Billy, I emailed you the Loop Experiment Newsletter a couple of days ago. Did you get it? It had links in it so it may have been filtered as junk mail.

Also, I have a copy of the Doheny "Drive Me" video, and a couple of short clips of Camp Freddy if you need them. No, I haven't been sharing them around! :P I got the video way back, when Pony 1st put it on his website. Not sure where the CF clips came from, maybe from Dave's downloads quite a while back.

Hey Billy, the show once again seemed to be great. I'm still hanging out for the Camp Freddy World Tour so I can experience it. Sad to hear about Doheny though, i spose whatever it is that you are doing will be just as good though.

Great to see that jordis and ty came along as well. What are they doing with themselves now? Have either got record deals or anything yet?

Posted by: Simon at October 20, 2005 03:41 PM

I'm also sad to hear about Doheny's demise but am excited to hear about the new band. I know I'm going to love what I hear.

Good luck with the upcoming CF show.

Lisa, no way you're a good girl, just no way I believe that. ;b

smooches,
tina

Not to worry Billy...you are very witty and articulate...I'm sure you will do a fabulous job tomorrow!

And, as always, thanks so much for the pics and updates. Someday (soon, I hope) I'll be able to see it all live for myself.

I am, I am...I was the only person dressed in white at an Echo & The Bunnymen concert at The Forum in NYC, in, um about 1985. See?! See!?? rofl. I did that on purpose. It was my little statement. I knew everyone would be in black, so I dressed all in white, in the same clothes that were hip then in black..like a white trumpet skirt, white boots, etc.

And, and, I also played Mary in my school play when I was 5 or 6. And everyone said,I looked just like her, cos I was so innocent. HA HA HA!!! I got in a huge fight with "Joseph" cos he hit me, so I hit him back, and broke his watch.

(Really, I do have pretty strong ethics though.)

roflmao @ Linda!!! :D Loverboy. omg. That's too funny. I see it, now that you've mentioned it.

Posted by: ylais at October 20, 2005 05:16 PM

Hey Billy, not to sound like an ungrateful bastard, but do you think you could offer the Doheny tracks for download at a higher bitrate? They sound great, but way compressed....ya know?

Posted by: Six7Six7 at October 20, 2005 07:47 PM

Thanks for the pics, Billy. Hey, did you catch the last episode of Lost...and were you as disappointed in it as Dave appears to be? So, when are we gonna see some of this TV/acting work you've been doing? Be sure and let us know when it's on so we can watch.
Be well,
Bonita

Posted by: Bonita at October 20, 2005 08:45 PM

if doheny is dead and burried why dont you post all the songs in a zip file for downloading so we all can enjoy the tunes?

Posted by: nick at October 20, 2005 09:14 PM

Hey Billy, just wondering if you have heard of the australian band Wolfmother? If not, i strongly recommend you check them, they have to be the closest thing to Led Zeppelin/Black Sabbath in todays music...

Posted by: Simon at October 20, 2005 10:39 PM

Thanks for the pics, Billy! I can't wait to see the ones from the Empire Ballroom! I have a picture in my head of Sumner Redstone rocking out to "now I wanna be your DOG!!!" HAHA!!

Ok, so, must go, Hi Simon! Hi Bonita! Hi Cori, Hi Alec, you STUD!!,
