THE HTML WARS

CS.Com-MorrisonMonitor.jpg

Now THAT was crazy!! Trust me - I dont know enough about all this shit to be the one making the tweaks!! I have been sick in bed the last two days (and still feel like the inside of a sumo wrestlers jockstrap!) so Allison has been fighting the html demons all by herself. It seems she won as well. I feel you are now all able to read this rubbish, correct? At the risk of messing it all up again, is it just me, or does the site have white sides? It should be all black. But maybe we should just leave it as it is - that was scary there. I kept waking up yesterday, feeling like shit, and I would stumble into the office, check the site ...... and it would be different every time!!! Allison - if you are reading this, thank you so much for battling against the craziness and sorting it out. Once I am feeling a little less sick, I'll call you.

I am meant to have a really important meeting tomorrow, a studio session on Thursday, and a weekend in Vegas on Friday and Saturday. And I am praying for some change in the way I feel. It's 6.00am and I am wide awake, coughing and sniffing my way through this post. I hate being ill - I'm not very good at it either. I moan and whine and feel all sorry for myself. But I have a bunch of TV to keep myself amused in bed today. Rome, Surface, Medium and two Torrents that I downloaded that my Tivo's missed - Invasion and Desperate Housewives. I figure I'll just stay in bed today with the phones off and try and sweat this bug outta me.

Questions:
Jim - Yeah, I know all about Bathing Ape. In fact a certain Mr Astbury turned me on to them a few years ago. But Bathing Ape only do Air Force One's and I only wear Dunks. So I tend to admire from a distance. I already have way too many sneakers without catching another brand addiction!!

Cori - I played on Hello Again and Say Goodbye on Tommy's record.

I cant do anymore. Feel rubbish and the snot is dripping on my keyboard. Time to say goodbye for now. Thank you all for helping us figure out the glitches in this site. It'll be worth it in the end. Now where's that Chicken Noodle Soup.....?

Peace

Billy

Thanks for answering my question, Billy. (perhaps I should enlighten Tommy! ha ha)

Yes...there are white edges, but the contrast is nice.

Hope you're feeling much better very soon!

ok, did Dave give you his cold? I didn't see him kissing YOU? Anyway, hope you feel better soon, my remedy is SALSA, the hotter the better, it clears the passages, and helps flush out the bad stuff. I'm sorry, but the visual of the jockstrap is making me laugh! I think a day of completely doing nothing but watching Tv is a terrific way to cure what ails you.
ok, that's all the drivel I have for now, back to the trenches

Hey Billy- Thanks for an incredible CF show. The trip from Reno was well worth every penny and then some. So, what's the latest on the CF CD?

Oh yeah, I finally listened to the CF Radio show w/ Billy Duffy a couple of weeks ago, and I have to say that while Dave and Matt are certainly entertaining, I have a very different appreciation for the shows you have done on your own with certain guests. Entertaining but with a bit more, um, substance, you know. And better music. (But you can't have too much substance in Rock n Roll, right!)

Thanks again,
Q

No More sharing cigarettes with Dave! Hope you feel better. Site still looks great and it is all black, no white sides for me. Go to the spa in Vegas and massage out the boogers!

Posted by: beth at October 4, 2005 08:44 AM

Yup...white on the sides Billy. But overall, much better.

Feel better, get some Zinc tablets for the runny nose, and we'll see you soon!

Sorry to hear that you're sick and hope you get well soon. There's a nasty flu bug going around work here as well. the girl who sits next to me has it and comes into work *sheesh* That is a pet peeve of mine. If you're sick, STAY HOME. Why come in and make everyone else sick.

I finally listened to the songs on the radio, lovely, lovely. As you know, Drive Me has been my fav since I first heard it. Is the version on your radio a newer version? It sounds different to me than what I've been listening to. I like it better than the one on myspace. It just sounds different, cleaner, sharper, little different nuances in the vocals. Really really like it.

I don't know if it's just me, and it probably is, but I have not been able to get "Pretty Vegas" out of my head for days now. It's played all the time on the radio here probably because JD is a maritimer but I love the song. I've just got to buy it but having it inside my head is driving me batty.

Well off to work, my guys called in and expect me to do some work for them *HA!!!*

muah to all,
tina

Billy , hope you get well soon!
Try hot tea, chicken soup and echinicea.
Allison great job on the site!
I am still laughing about the sumo wrestler's jockstrap.
I love the radio section as well.
Drive Me Rocks!
Feel better

Curse that Dave Navarro! Maybe your puter caught Dave's bug as well as you. hehe!
I can see everything on the site too - yay!
I would prefer the white sides gone, but I can live with them.

I don't watch Lost (yes, I'm the one person on the planet!) but I heard a theory on Howard the other day about the numbers all being retired Yankee's #s - thought I'd share.

Feel better - agree with Kate - zinc is the word...& echinacia.
Cheers!

Feel better Billy! Getting constant fluids is more important then eating. Water and Vitamin C (1,000 mg) and rest and time. I agree with Jezzi if you can eat though. Salsa, wasabi, horseradish...they will all clear ya!

Can also see white edges (I'm using Firefox), but it doesn't bother me too bad. Also, if we have pictures we think you can use or might like, should we send them to your email?

Dave mentioned a CF show the 22nd. Can you confirm this? Or perhaps the next CF date for that matter...

Remain slothful (when do you ever get THAT advice?!), rest up and get well soon. Hope the snot eases up on your keyboard! lol.....

Posted by: Musemelodic at October 4, 2005 11:26 AM

I've looked to see if anything was up on the Vanity Fair Step Up Concert, and their site still lists TBD. Grrr and argh.

22nd is a Saturday (omg.. I can sleep IN the next day? Oh thank GOD), so let us know when you can Billy. Now if I can just convince Matt to give me a right handed glove...bwahahha. Too much damn fun for any one person, I tell ya.

Posted by: Kate at October 4, 2005 11:56 AM

I can see everything now! Looks good! Yes, there are white stripes down the side of the blog. Is that how The White Stripes got their name? Just kidding... ;-)

It looks as though the blog is a table with a black background and the background behind the table is white. My two cents...

Hope you feel better, Billy!!

meanwhile in the UK..."Fans of Ronnie Barker are putting four candles in their windows tonight in remembrance of the legendary TV comic, who has died aged 76. Barker, one of Britain's best loved funnymen, passed away at his home after a long illness.

The candles are a reference to one of his most famous Two Ronnies sketches, in which a shopkeeper hands over four candles, instead of the requested "fork handles"."

Posted by: Simon at October 4, 2005 10:31 PM

God, I wish I had TiVo....

I'm still trying to work out if anyone else caught what was weird about that shark in Lost last week. Billy? Anyone????

Posted by: flamingheart at October 5, 2005 12:13 AM

White edges seem to gone! However, based on the experience yesterday with everything changing...who knows!! I'm sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. Rest up and get better!!!

Hi Billy;
Get well soon!
Allison, the site looks great.
Thank you tons from me.( I'm on here at least once a day )
And yep, the white edges are gone.

Can I post about the LOST shark yet? I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I haven't even seen that episode, we're behind in the UK, but ppl here have seen it. There's a lot of LOST episode downloading going on. There's a link to a pic of the shark close up on a UK site. I'll see if I can find it again.
