THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR PIMPIN'!!
The three day weekend is looming, the painters will have finished the hallway and the closets by the end of today, and I will have done all the stuff I needed to do this week. Plus the new Vivienne Westwood boots arrived. They are sick! Do I have the balls to wear them? Of course!!! There's nothing like new shoes and three days to rock them in!! This is a nice feeling! I can have three days of doing nothing (well, CFR doesnt count cos its fun!) so it has to be a movie. Any suggestions? I know the new Exorcism movie is right up my street, but I don't think Jen will buy it!! What else is out there right now? Anyone seen The Cave?
OK, so we are getting to work on the Key Club show now. I'll be putting the bill together over the next couple of weeks and doing all the logistical stuff that we do. I love when CF does a proper show. I look forward to seeing some of you there, and of course, we are having Camp Teddy do a song that night as well. Apparently their whole band is coming, so it seems we will get the 'non-unplugged' version. Exciting stuff. We will be giving away a few tickets and tee shirts in the days leading up to the show so if you can, keep listening to Indie 103.1 for details.
Bonita: I fall into the 'only child, so its ALL about me' category!! It explains a lot of things!!
Kate and Wendy: I have no idea about the clubs camera policy, but I advise you to be a little sneaky anyway. We dont care, but a clubs policy is a clubs policy. Better to sneak one in and get pics, than openly declare a camera and have them take it off you.
QQQ: Wow. Flying in from Reno, huh? We better make sure we give you a good night then!! Hope you enjoy the show.
Jay: Yeah, I did catch Ty's closing comments. And I have to say it was a little trippy. He has smiled throughout the whole series, but when he lost, he became somewhat bitter, and played the race card. Not sure how I feel about that. Somehow, in that instance, I think he was a little upset, and some paranoia crept in, although who knows. Did the rest of the world vote him into the bottom three because he was black? What do you think?
Dimemax: Lets just clear this up now. We are NOT doing Vanity Fair this year. We have donated a signed guitar for the Step Up Charity, but we will not be playing the show. The one we are doing in October is a party for Grey Goose Vodka and the Sundance TV channel. And I think that will be our only show for that month. Regarding Nov and Dec - who knows?!!
Simon: Did I get that right? Do you listen from Australia? Is that possible? Well, even if I have that wrong, we hope you get through and have a chat with us on Saturday.
I'm gonna get out of here and inspect the painting that they did yesterday. And steel myself for their return!!! So have a great weekend - enjoy the rest, and I'll try and get back here during the next three days. Prayers continue for the people of New Orleans and surrounding areas. They need help. Lets hope they get it. Until next time.
Peace
Billy

Have a great weekend Billy! If you get free time, you have got to finish Harry Potter...I'm anxious to hear what you think! ;)

Billy,
Rock those boots in all weekend long.....just don't leave the house.
Then, in a few more days when you come to the realization they may not have been such a great idea, find a hooker with size 10's and hand them over with a smile.

Billy,
Keeping on the "Ty" subject, I agree with your assesment 100%. I find it extemely hard to believe
his position in the bottom 3 was due to a worldwide racial voting conspiracy, ya know?
If possible, I'd like to hear Dave's take on Ty's closing comments on CFR tomorrow. Maybe you could ask him for his general thoughts??
Anyway, love the boots. Those things should be rocked at the Key Club Freddy gig, maybe during an Antz song (hint..hint)..
With New Orleans in mind, a good weekend to all.
Thank you,
Jay

Camp TEDDY! Can't wait guys!
Billy, those boots kick ass! Wear them at the Key Club if you can.
DYING to find out who is on the roster for that gig, but whomever it is, it will be a fantastic show. I may have to have some surgery, so I need to maneuver a few docs around to ensure I'm at that event. One way, or another...

Sigh...I'm back from the holy land, otherwise known as the Netherlands. I absolutely loved it. Hope everyone has fun at the concert. Good movie to see: Broken Flowers. I really liked it. It's with Bill Murray, directed by Jim Jarmusch (love his films). And about Ty--he did seem bitter. But I think JD should have gone. I can't stand his cockiness and I don't think he sings all that well either. If Ty thinks there aren't enough African American rock musicians, well, maybe it's time for him to do something about it. He doesn't need INXS to do it. Anyway, happy Labor Day weekend to all :)

Hi Billy,
Sorry I've been away for a while.
Glad to see that CF is doing a nother show for charity. How about coming out with a DVD of the show for charity too.
I would love to go see it live but am afaid it will be sold out like the last one at the Key Club you all did for charity.
I think making a video or dvd of the show would give every one a chance to see CF and make some more money for the Red Cross.
Also my brother likes to play around and write songs. He has just bought a MRS 8 zoom. Have you heard of it and is it any good?
Thanks,
Matt S.

I think we should all go easy on Ty.
I knew he was going to say something like that, as soon as I saw him on the show, the first episode. I knew because I have so many close black friends. My best friend in the States
and my ex-college roommate. She's a wonderful, caring person. She's black, and her Dad was in the army, so she had to move around a lot. She was the only black student in an all-white school in Alabama. Can you imagine what that feels like? Lots of people are racist. She did get lots of shit from teachers especially there. I'm sure Ty has had some similar experiences. And felt vulnerable in an all-white arena. And I mean non-black, by that. The studio audience as far as I could tell was all white. He may have thought that probably the viewers were mostly white as well, which isn't a huge leap in thinking. I don't think he was directing his comments really to INXS. He was talking about the pain of being black. We all have some pain where we've been rejected for something like that. I could write loads more. I know from my friends, and from my own experiences of being an outsider. I empathise with him. I'm not surprised he felt like an outsider.
