THE DARK SIDE
Its been a strange week for me. I have had bits of days where I just haven't wanted to do anything, despite having every toy and every technological brain numbing device known to man. And then a few hours later, I have been driving like a lunatic to another meeting, or working out, or watching my hand write amazing lyrics as if it was disconnected from my body (stream of consciousness stuff). Then its been back to moping around, listening to the voices in my head. Weird stuff. Not sure what's going on. Its too early to tell how I feel today (and there's not enough caffeine in my system either yet!). All I know is that I have a busy day ahead. 8.30am workout for an hour an a half, and then I am off and running. I wonder if everyone has weeks like that? I mean, good stuff surrounds me, and yet I just wanna turn the phones off, and crawl into a dark corner somewhere.
Anyway, the news is that The Key Club show sold out already. We didn't expect it to do that as quickly as it did (no ads or radio promo have even run yet!). Not sure if we'll move it to a bigger venue or what, but I am sure there will be phone calls about it all today. What I do know is that the BC Ethic guys have designed an awesome event shirt that will be $20 on the night of the show. Again, all the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Fund, so please .... bring a few extra $$$$ with you and buy a shirt. It looks great, it will be limited to this event only, and you will be helping us raise some much needed funds for the people of the Gulf Coast.
RIP Jordis. But funnily enough, I agree with Dave. I wasn't as upset for her as I thought I would be, because she is obviously going to walk straight into a deal, and an amazing solo career. She has all the qualities required for full Rock Stardom. The look, the voice, the attitude ...... I am a huge fan, and cannot wait to hear what she does now. Massive Respec' Jordis. The world loves you. My smart money is still on Mig, although Marty and Suzie have been slaying it recently. Wish You Were Here and Bohemian Rhapsody were just incredible. Good luck to the remaining four ......
And new seasons on TV are just around the corner. Prime Tivo material would be Lost (I LOVE that show - just watching the first season reruns and cannot wait to get to the season finale!!), Extras (the new series by the guy that created the UK show, The Office), and anything that Mark Burnett does after Rock Star. Hmmmm, could a certain Mr Navarro's Television addiction be rubbing off on me?
OK -
Kate: VERY excited about Emily Rose, although as I doubt Jen will want to see it, I might have to wait a few days and go see it next week sometime when she isn't around. Scariest movie? Well, the original Exorcist, The Others, The Ring (only the first one) and believe it or not, Ghost Ship all had the hairs standing up on my neck. I love a good horror movie!!
Jay: Yep, thats the show. Breaking Bonaduce. It's VERY intense, but I know Danny and he allowed a period of his life to be filmed when he was very volatile and he is in a fantastic place these days. There is some discussion about the theme tune, as they changed the title sequence, so who knows if mine will end up being used. If not, I'll see if I can post the original sequence here.
I am gonna get my ass in gear and try and combat the 'dark side' that has been moving in on me this week. So I am outta here. Keep your eyes on this site and 6767.com for any news about the benefit show, cos thats where it will appear first! Have a great weekend everyone, and see you soon.
Peace
Billy

Good Morning Billy!!! I have weeks like that for sure..."this too shall pass".
Have you ever seen Stephen King's "Storm of the Century"??? It's good...creepy...long. Check it out on one of those days when you just want to sit in the dark and be left alone. It is scary but not too graphic so, Jen would possibly enjoy it too.
Hope your mood improves...have a beautiful day! :)

Billy,
Firstly, I love you!
It's perfectly normal to have everything around you going splendidly, and still want to retreat into a cave. Who could blame us, with the events going on in the world today? Even though I am blessed that no one I know was directly affected by the destruction of Katrina, I still feel despondent. I can't quite put my finger on it. It just seems kind of foreign to be traipsing along happily in the midst of all the horror of lost lives, and displaced families.
Or, maybe it's just me. Either way, you can't fully appreciate the happiness in your life without understanding sadness. Does that make sense to anyone? I mean, I think of people that say how happy they are, and have never had a sad day in their life, and I say to myself..."What a wanker!",
okay, I am officially rambling
Did I say that I love you, Billy?
love to you and yours,
jezzi(Lisa, kiss, kiss!)

...btw Billy...I didn't mean to sound flip with my "this too shall pass". I just usually indulge those moods...hide in the dark and make the most out of it...veg on the couch in a comfy old t-shirt, watching something equally dark while ignoring everyone and everything around me...then it's pretty much out of my system and I feel much better for having just given in to it for a bit....thus, "this too shall pass".

i don't feel bad for jordis either, she's got an open ticket. i was shocked though to see her sky high the first few weeks then completely fall back to earth the last few shows. on another note...i do think who gets to stick around from the bottom 3 each week has a lot to do with song selection - take "never tear us apart" for instance. if inxs asks one of the "rockers" to sing that song...there's no way they are going home! you can't compare the vocal range from that song to say, "mystify" or any other inxs song where the vocals are a bit more subdued. one man's opinion.

Oh man. Have just checked out various reviews of 'Breaking Bonaduce'. Sounds so very disturbing. Urgh.
You can see reviews from different places on the below link.

Hello Billy,
Hope you feel better..
Do you ever just take a day off to do "nothing"?
See ya the 29th!

I'll let you know how I like Emily Rose, I'm hitting the 4:55 show (guess I better leave work a tad early, eh?).
Definitely buying a shirt. I saw the design over at 6767.com, and it looks great!
Billy, I definitely have days where I'd like nothing better than to find the off switch on the back of my head and unplug (and DAMN if I can ever find that stupid little switch). Sometimes it's ok to just 'be'. My danger is letting me do that too often, back to back to back, as I personally find it harder the longer I sink into my little dark corner, to yank myself back up and out. Hence why I have a bunch of friends that know me well enough to say, ok... no more chica...move it. My buds have saved my butt more time than I can count. Today is a good day. That's all I got to work with anywho. Later all!

Greetings Billy,
I've never written on here before, usually a lurker, but after reading your post today I wanted to comment on some things you wrote.
First, most artists of any kind that I know, including myself, go through these "phases". They seem to be when things have either been the same for awhile, or people just not listening to their inner spirit for too long. You have such a generous spirit from what I can tell, a truly giving nature about you, and sometimes when you give and give, you forget to take for yourself. Some people think this is selfish; I think it is every person's right to have self-preservation as their first focus. After all, if you don't take time for yourself, how are you supposed to have energy to give to others?
Anyway, I'm into the whole metaphysical thing so I hope this isn't too "out there" for you... there is alot going on on this planet right now. There is a good article on it here:
http://www.whatsuponplanetearth.com/latest.htm
If you don't have the time to read it, in a nutshell it basically says that most are going through endings and beginnings now. It is a painful time sometimes, releasing and letting go. If stuff bothers you, know it is there to solely trigger the letting go. There has to be a void, an empty space before you can build anew. That way we aren't all building on remnants of the past etc.
Well don't want to take up too much more of your time, but you inspire so many people with the music and projects you have created, just wanted to let you know there are those out here that have taken notice and been uplifted by what you have put out. You perhaps need to recharge a bit.
Keep the faith, get out in nature a bit, go to the water and remember, when you smile, the whole world smiles with you :)

Hey Billy, I'm totally having the same day. I've just moved from New York to Hollywood (it's about a week I'm here) and I've been running on empty for two months solid. Just don't want to think about anything, but at the same time I'm having the time of my life. Today is definitely a crawl back into bed day. Maybe it's the weather?
It's such a wonderful thing that you're donating so much to the Red Cross with the show and the shirts. I'll surely be there with the little cash I have left in hand.

Billy ~ I love you too! I get times like that as well. The things going on the last month around the world, bombings in the UK, the hurricane, a few other really nasty things all happening in such a short amount of time,it's got to me. I get bored and angry about things sometimes, with what's going on in the world. Makes me withdraw a little and want to hide out; and do something at the same time.
Like pulled in two different directions.
I'm cuddled up in my blankey right now! :D Makes me feel safe. (Yes, I drag it around with me) Then I can relax.
I really admire that you can talk about it on here.
Loads of hugs Billy!
kiss kiss Jez.
Maybe we can play a caption contest game on here? Or something like that? Anyone got a good game?
Alec~Right on dude!!!!

Unfortunately, you just have to keep on going, break and rest when you can and come back recharged. I have days like that almost every day, it is all part of working hard. But the hard you work the luckier you will get. Then only thing to do I found is when you have a day off, completely relax, cut yourself off from work completely and spend time with the people you love. That way when it comes time to get back to work, hopefully you’ll be recharged.

My prescription is put on some AC/DC really loud, Back in Black probably, and jump around like crazy, and yell out "Angus"
(don't laugh it works for me)
Watching VH2, "The next song will be great", and The Cult "She Sells Sanctuary" was just on. I freaking love that. (as we all know) Haven't seen the video for years though. Good to see it on there. (that works for me too)
Anyway, I got my guitar teacher to show me how to play "Rain" this week. He hadn't heard it before, but he was impressed and happy to help with with it. So I'm working on that now, as my song to learn really really well. The Cult won over loads of others! And I spent days choosing the right song :D

Sounds like your body is adjusting to its new routine while your brain is trying to keep up with it. Hang in there. It's all part of the "healthy" process. You'll be fine.
Much love to ya!!

I just got back from seeing Emily Rose.
..........
Just my opinion.... save your $9. This was a courtroom melodrama with a mild sprinkling of an exorcism. I kept thinking ...where's the rest of the exorcism??? Sorry, I went expecting a horror film, and it's not. Everything even remotely intense or good in the film you can see in the trailers on TV. Seriously. I think I'm going to have to order a payperview to get my adrenaline rush I was expecting. Woof.......

Billy,
I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV.
But..
Take to heart a favorite of yours to play live:
"Love all around, when the music is loud".
Now..
Plug in the Les Paul, put the Marshall on 11 and FEEL the volume.
Be well.
Respect,
Jay

Freaky!!!! When I wrote "kiss kiss bang bang" I was referring to the song by Specimen. It just came into my mind. Today on yahoo's uk front page one of their 4 top stories is about a movie called "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" that premiered in Canada, starring Downey, and Kilmner.

Hi Billy,
About your need to mentally escape, I can relate... Actually this comes up in my trainings a lot, having too much and nothing to do. I was just in LA last month to teach at a training. It is training on how to work with infants within a specific philosophy. Anyway, one of things is having too much stuff can actually make one less creative. It is like what you said about having all this great stuff, but not really wanting anything to do with it. Like going to a restaurant with too many choices on a menu. You can't decide, nothing is jumping out at you and when you do finally pick something, it doesn't really satisfy you in the end and you walk away leaving unfulfilled. Anyway, I could go on, but basically sometimes less is more. BTW, if you and Jen ever decide to bless this world with a mini Morrison, I know of some amazing resources for new parents in the LA area.
As for Jordis, I agreed with Dave & INXS as well. I think she is amazing, love her voice, talent, look, etc, but I also didn't think she was right for INXS. I actually think the final three will be Marty, JD and Suzie. I was thinking Mig early in the show as well, but something isn't sitting well with me right now with his performances. When it is all said and done, I think JD will win. That is what my gut is telling me lately.
Yes the new TV season is upon us. Have you ever watched "24". Talk about addicting! I highly recommend it, but if you haven't seen the other seasons, I recommend you watch them (in order) before season 5 airs in January. You will get a better understanding of the characters. I have gotten everybody hooked on it. Word of advice...once you start watching it, you are hooked. I know people who watch a whole season in a weekend because they can't shut it off; they need to know what happens next. So if you are ever sick in bed for a few days, watch this show and the time will pass so quickly, you will be 8 hours into it and not even realize it. It would be great to have on a tour bus!!
Anyway, hope things get back to normal (what ever that is) for you and all is well at the Morrison camp.
Take Care,
SSS
