REHEARSAL DAY

Cf_boardshorts

The week is flying by yet again. Today is a very rare Camp Freddy rehearsal day. We normally just go through the songs on the day of the show at soundcheck, but as some of the guests cant make soundcheck at this gig, we decided to have a rehearsal. I'm fine with it - nothing like playing guitar all day!
The funny thing is, this is where all the minute detail and planning that goes into a Camp Freddy set list goes straight out the window!! You see, once we have gone through the tracks we wanna rehearse, someone starts playing a riff, we all join in, and the next thing you know is that we just added four songs to the set list!! Someone will say ...."that was great, we should do it at the gig" ...... and we end up with 22 songs on the list and playing for two hours!!! Its a lot of fun, and I am really looking forward to playing on Friday. Dave will be back as he has a day off from the TV show - always a blast playing with him. By the way, we play at 11.00pm, for all of you that are haggling and worming your way in!! I love that some of you will just happen to be having dinner at HOB that night. 'Oh look. What a suprise. Camp Freddy are playing while we eat our popcorn shrimp. Wonderful!!!'
Oh, and check out todays pic - whaddya think? I have been talking with the wonderful people at ONeill and we might just have some Camp Freddy boardshorts happening. I think they look fucking amazing!! Now where's my board, dude?....

Now lets just talk about that TV show for a second ....... what about that Jordis? Un - be - leivable!!! Her version of Bowie's Man Who Sold The World last night was nothing short of stunning. She has an incredible voice, and I was blown away by her stage presence, just standing still and singing. And Mig also did nothing but raise my expectations that he is the guy for INXS, with his version of Queens We Are The Champions. Just amazing. Its starting to hot up now, and the real singers are starting to show through. It'll be a tough final week, thats for sure.

Amy and Kim - I STILL havent seen Batman, although everyone I have spoken to tells me its a great movie. I really must get my ass in gear. Maybe this weekend. Gotta get Jen all fired up about it and then she'll get me away from writing songs for a couple of hours!

Michael - Funnily enough, I have chatted with Tracii Guns a few times on the phone, and I am sure that he would be into it at some point. Maybe when we do the planned 'real' gig soon - it will be a local LA club show and he would be great for that vibe. I'll give him a call.

Pilates is really kicking my ass, but also really making me feel good. I think it'll start to have an effect soon. You know - the sore muscles will start to be less tight, and I'll start to see a difference in my body. It just feels good to be doing some kind of exercise after all these years! Now if only I can get my head around the cigarettes......

OK - gotta get over to the Valley and see my guy, Brett Allen, who has been setting up a couple of new Gibsons for this gig. I will try them all out at rehearsal today. So have a great day, I'll be back soon. Be kind to the world and it will be kind to you.

Peace

Billy

i realize that if friends like cantrell and duffy are in town when you do a gig they will usually come down and join you guys...but ever reach out to someone you were not really tight with and have them get all diva on you and demand x,y and z just to join you onstage?

Hi Billy!

Love the shorts! They would look awesome on females and males (you know us, just throw on a bikini top)hope it comes through!

I've been invited to dinner at HOB, so I'm hoping I can peel a few gremlins off me and get there!

What's going on in Camp Doheny??

Have a blessed day,

Elsa

Billy,

Still planning on CFR this weekend?

And I agree, Mig is probably the guy for INXS. He seems like the right "fit".

A good day to all,
Jay

Billy,
Whats upp with the MYF clothing? How can we get them?

Posted by: JILLY at August 3, 2005 09:07 AM

Mig is definitely the guy for the job right now if the contest were over today. Marty has made leaps and bounds tho... should be interesting.

Thanks Billy for the timeline. Play for two hours.. definitely!!!

The shorts are really cute but, I would kill for some pants/jeans like that!

How about it Billy...why not design a line of Camp Freddy clothing in your spare time! ;)

That's a good idea to start your own line of CF clothing, I'd buy the stuff! I really like those board shorts.

Shorts are cute. I think Mig will probably win this thing, he does seem the best fit BUT I am a Jordis fan since I first heard her sing. She's amazing, and Billy you're right, she was unbelievable last night. I would love for her to record what she did last night so I could get a copy, I loved it. I would definitely pay to see her and buy her cd.

He Billy -
we're going to the xgames 2morrow - scope some rad sick verts dude!

Like the shorts. Wish we could buy them with the CF associate of our choice in them.

Mig will win if they go for INXS redux. Jordis will win if they're looking to reinvent.

Is 'popcorn shrimp' Friday's secret word?....Just checkin'

well i got it, a copy of Jordis singing "Man Who Sold The World". You can download a copy for 99 cents over at the inxs rockstar website. I had to, I can't get enough of hearing her sing this song, it always gives me goosebumps when I listen to it.
