PILATES AND BEYOND
This whole Pilates thing has shaken me up in a good way. I mean I never worked out, never did any exercise at all. But I've taken to Pilates like a duck to water! It seems to be having an effect on everything, not just my body. I wake up feeling rested, my mind seems a little clearer. Its good shit, baby. Today we do a class and I am the only guy in it. I'm not stupid!!!
Anyway, CFR was great last night. So good to be back on the air, it seems like forever since I was there. Rachel Hunter dropped by to hang out and chat about stuff. And Dave and I had a great time. I am sure he will have the show up and running on his 6767.com site for anyone that missed it and wants to hear it. I also took an acoustic guitar down from Sharon Osbournes office. They had asked me if we would all sign a guitar for her Colon Cancer Charity, so of course we all said yes, and I got Rachel to sign it as well, as she was there. A good time was had by all, and next week, Dave will be in the studio with Ionni Skye, and I will be reporting from the Ozzfest.
Questions and comments -
Bobbi-O: First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! The big 3-0 is a great one. It all gets crazy from there!! And Satan's number is 1-800-666-BOTOX!!!
Cori: No I wont be able to get to Vegas for the Poker. Not my thing really. And the Harry Potter thing has come to a screeching halt! I tend not to have time to read books in LA. I catch up on that when I leave town.
Junebug: Dont worry. I am checking the mail religiously right now! When the boots arrive, I'll get a pic up here straight away!!
Jay: Pirate Chic RULES!! Actually, I do still like a bit of Worlds End Pirate collection, worn with jeans and a tee shirt, or mixed in some way. Thats the plan with these crazy boots anyway. We'll see if it works. Thats why I am scouting for a squiggle apache top as well. Although they are as rare as rocking horse shit!!
Ylais: Mathew Ashman from Bow Wow Wow wore that stuff. He also played in the Antz. For those of you who would know where this is, I saw The Antz at Lewisham Odeon, supported by The Cure!!
FlamingHeart: GREAT news story! I wouldnt mind doing the Kilt thing. Maybe I'll give it a go onstage sometime! Of course, having now read that news piece, I have to find out what bondage stuff they are talking about. Has she rereleased some of that as well? Oh god, this is gonna cost me a fortune!!
D-Wez: I understand your views and I appreciate your support. But no matter what happens with ANY band, it is always "What it is", and not "what it could have been". Doheny is a great band, and we are all still alive and kicking! But we have 24 songs written and at some point, you have to leave it in the lap of the Gods. I need to be making music all the time, in order for me not to go insane. So while those songs are marinating in many peoples offices, I am out writing with different people, and so are the others. If it doesnt happen for Doheny, then so be it.
WendyBird and Laurie: I have absolutely no idea about these CF shirts at Tower Records. There arent any tee shirts in existance right now, so I dont see how anyone would have any to sell!! And certainly not in Tower!! No wonder they said "Who are they"!!!! I'd love to know where that one came from .....
Kefer: I am afraid that San Diego doesnt feature in the plans anytime soon.
Matt: Well, most of Freddy's shows are private shows, or corporate parties. So yes, its pretty much impossible to get in. But people do, and we encourage it. It just isnt a case of buying tickets, cos most of the shows dont even have tickets for sale. Its an invite thing. BUT ..... that is why we occasionally do a public show, open to everyone. And funnily enough, you might want to keep your eyes on the last weekend in September.
6767: Yes, we have, and are, considering the DIY route. But (and its a huge BUT), the most important thing for me is to be able to get out on the road and tour a record. And that isnt possible without the support of a label. A bus, crew, hotels, food ..... all of that costs money. About $15,000 a week minimum, to be precise. So unless its possible to get out there and tour for a while, its kinda not worth doing. I will, however, eventually get around to having some of the Doheny shit available for download, if the rest of the band are ok with that.
Thats it from me. Gonna go lay down on a very sexual piece of equipment and sweat with a bunch of women!! Have you seen a Pilates bed? It looks like something out of a 17th Century French torture chamber! ......'Madam, voulez vous le bondage avec moi?'!!
See you all soon, thank you SO much for continually being a part of this online blog, and believe me, there will be music soon. Until next time -
Peace
Billy

Did you and Jen enjoy your time with Dave and the RS:INXS contestants?
Posted by: Cori at August 14, 2005 10:50 AM
No no billy, when i said "DIY" i meant just the recording part. Then the album is done and whatever label you pitch it to thinks "wow, and we didn't even have to shell out 300,000 bucks for studio time)"

How soon might we know about the Key Club gig? Two nights, back to back! Can't WAIT!

Bobbi O, 30 is a piece of cake. I did that one eons ago.
I still say I'm 28 tho. My body doesn't agree with that anymore, but my brain is all for it.

Hi Billy!
Okay, so for the 30th and 1st, are there going to be different people each night, or will the 1st just be a repeat performance? (start cracking the piggy bank girls)

Billy,
If you consider a kilt, you might think about getting a Utilikilt. They're dead sexy.

Billy,
My newest guilty pleasure is "Tommy Lee Goes To College"
Need I say more?
Thanks,
Jay

Tommy Lee - gotta love him, groan, admire him & roll your eyes all at the same time! lol
RockStar - after 2nite...
Mig's got the gig
Jordis has her 2nd single from her debut album
A great band somewhere is chomping at the bit to get hold of Marty
JD we will see again...maybe singing, maybe on The Surreal Life, maybe the SmokingGun..who knows.
The others will be the 'singers who were on that INXS show'
Pilates bed? Scary but strangely alluring at the same time...now we're back to Tommy Lee again! hehe!

Laurie~ Marty is with The Lovehammers already. I think he'll be staying with them. Google them! They're on my space too.
See a pic of Marty with Slash in their my space photos.
Tara already has a CD of her own songs out. Released right after she left the house. I didn't pay much attention to the details though.
It's been MiG versus Marty for a while now; and MiG looks like he goes with INXS. Good match. Who else here loves MiG's smile?
Billy, Matthew Ashman! Thanks..no wonder I had Bow Wow Wow and the Ants in my mind. All I had was pictures in my mind, as if looking through a viewmaster. Bless him. I didn't know he had diabetes, and died. :( I was out of it myself around that time. No one told me. All I can say, is I have fond memories thanks to his Antics.
Do you have any Ants memorabilia? (the Westwood boots count I guess! :D ) I've lost most of mine over time. Tickets and stuff. People seem to pocket those things. Someone recently grabbed the Ants booklet out of the Kings Of the Wild Frontier LP...and I think I know who it was (a roommate in Reading), but I'm sure it's long gone. Should I put my CDs and records in a locked drinks cabinet?!! Jesus, the number of CDs that have gone missing from people pocketing them, especially while I lived in San Fran.
Enough said. Billy, have you ever worked with anyone from The Jam?
Would any of them do CF with you?
Paul, Bruce, Rick. I just met one of my postmen who was into The Jam, and we were talking up a storm about those times! Fun, fun, fun.
He said Rick has an antiques shop now. Bruce is with Stiff Little Fingers; but I could have sworn I saw he was in LA with a different band. Do you know? I love Bruce Foxton! :D Paul, well we know what he's up to pretty much. But does he still hate the USA?
Catching up, catching up. I'm with the now, but missed a few years there.
Love to all, hugs
Lisa

Me again! lol.
Bruce Foxton..it's 3 Men + Black, that I was thinking of. Pauline Black, and well whoever from 2tone (eg The Beat's Dave Wakeling), and The Stranglers, Stiff Little Fingers, Bruce from the Jam..doing acoustic nights. Well, there you go.
Another, yes he is in both. He was touring with Stiff Little Fingers in 2004.
And I'm laughing so much, I said about Paul Weller and the USA, he's just started a US Tour. (guess he's long taken back his comments on the USA? Wonder if he still takes his own English Tea with him on tour? lmao)

Tommy Lee Goes to College has both my husband and I hooked. What a riot!
And that Utilikilts web sight is just too much!! Have you looked through the random pics? I think the guy with the chainsaw is my favorite.
