LOS ANGELES IN THE HOUSE!!

SnitchonstageI am back home in LA. And it feels GOOD!! As much fun as it is, travelling around from the UK, to Vegas, to New York, and then back to LA, I missed my wife so much. Its so cool to be back in my own bed, and able to spend the whole weekend with Jen, doing the little things. You know, coffee in the morning, run a few errands, go shopping - just spending time together. The poor girl hasnt really seen me in two weeks.

SO - New York was unbelievably hectic, what with the change of venue for the showcase at the last minute, and the fact that someone stole my Yamaha Acoustic guitar from the club that we played in on Thursday night!! But even with all that went on, the trip was a total success. The showcase went really well - we made the room look really cool, and played a tight, six song set, for a bunch of business types, a few friends from the city, and a few 'Bloggers' (you know who you are!! - MASSIVE respect to you for actually figuring out where we were! And for walking 30 blocks to get there!!) After we played, we mingled with everyone, and chatted about nothing for a bit. And then it was - 'break the gear down, load the truck, over to the club, and set up again for another soundcheck!'

Snitchaudience_2
The show at Snitch was pretty much unbelievable!! The club was packed - people were hanging of the walls and standing on tables to see - and we played a show like nothing we have ever done before. We were on fire - probably because we were all so tired and ready to finish the day, that we just didnt care!! We played 8 songs, including the new one, By My Own Design (one of my faves) and all of us killed it. The stage was tiny, but we threw out an energy that was eaten up by the audience and they responded to it all. New York is a noisy audience if they like you and they liked us!! Thank you to everyone who came to see us - we will be back in New York FOR SURE!!!

So its back to business as usual now - CFR tonight with Dave. I miss that guy and cant wait to get back on the air with him tonight. I think I am giving away a few pairs of tickets to the El Faro Benefit on the show, so listen in if you wanna win some.

I wanna pose a good question to you all, and get the Family thinking this weekend! So here it is -
I was actually asked this by one of you guys and I thought it was a great question. So you are to be immortaized by Ben And Jerrys Ice Cream, with your own flavor. What would it be? My choice would either be 'Billy Morrisons Funky Sourdough Toast and Grape Jelly' flavor, or 'Morrisons Own Salacious Salmon Sushi' flavor!! Aliteration is always a winner in an ice cream name!! What about you guys? How would you like to be remembered in a desert? (Thats desert, as in what comes after dinner, NOT desert, like what has a lot of sand in it!!!)

And thats it for today. Very glad to be back - looking forward to getting some responses back from the New York trip, and looking ahead to next fridays show at The Henry Fonda Theater. Feel free to get some questions in to me if you want, and welcome to anyone new thats reading this. You are welcomed with open arms - enjoy the blog and I'll be back soon. Have a great weekend all.

Peace

Billy

Hmm, what an odd question! Never crossed my mind to be a Ben & Jerry's dessert ice cream. How about Kim's Kool Koffee & Kiwi Krunch . Sounds like a recipe for indigestion :)

Hmm, you going to run with the Whole Lotta Love segment, or leave it for a bit?

"Lisa's Luscious Key Lime Pie"
Man, I'm making myself salivate now.
I love Key Lime Pie. I can see me mincing around with key lime pie on a tray, "Would you care for any of my Luscious Key Lime Pie, Darling?"

Waiting to see what the surprise you have for Dave on CFR.

Sounds like NYC went down really well! Very cool! "I love New York, I love New York, cos there's no place like it"

Back to reality, Dr. Who's on tonight, and the new series is pretty good. Plus Mum is coming in from Cyprus Monday. Getting ready.

Billy ~ I'm so happy it went so well in NY!
And that you've got a great place to go home to as well.

hugs
Lisa

Billy,

Thanks for being so cool at the showcase in NYC! The whole experience was amazing, thanks so much for making this fan's day. I hope one of those record executive types heard something they liked.

And oh yeah, thanks again for finding some cash for me and my friend to take a cab, that was ace.

Hey Billy! Good to see you guys made it back ok - did you get free drinks on the flight?

I can't even begin to thank you for everything - you boys are spectacular live! So it was beyond amazing to see you live twice in one day. I can't wait for the album and for you to come back to New York. Who knows, I wouldn't mind flying to California to see you play if it's not soon enough!

I got a few pictures from the show at Snitch, but they're not that great - it surely was packed and hotter than hell in there! The first four came out the best I think:

Jon moves too fast for me!

Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of you at all - except for your back! Katherine is supposed to email me some of hers and I'll surely pass them along to you.

Again, thank you for such a lovely time - you guys rock. Maybe I'll call in to CFR tonight to say hi!

Billy,

My ice cream would be "Jay's Peppermint Chip, as cool as the other side of the pillow and as cruchy as a Marshall Stack."

A good weekend to all.

Thanks,
Jay

And hey - I see myself in the crowd shot of Snitch! Thankfully I had my camera in front of my face.

My Ben & Jerry's flavor would probably be something like "Theresa's Nightmare Before Caramel" or "Theresa Sang Lemon Merigune"

Good call on the Key Lime Lisa - I only like three kinds of pie, and that's one of them!

Billy ~ Check out the Doheny thread on TPC board. I just posted a huge pic of me holding the Doheny setlist that Jez sent me!

Theresa ~ I love Key Lime Pie. You're in the crowd pic! Now going to look at the pic for someone with a camera over their face. :d

So many great reports of the NY shows! Billy, you guys must be stoked!

As for ice cream...
Creme Bru-Lee is the 1st flavour that came to mind (I'm not really Laurie Tuttle-shhhhh! hehe) It would have little chips of caramelized sugar through it...mmmmmmm.
Maybe Creme Bruce-Lee could be a version, with a kick of Courvoisier.
My absolute fav would be Ragusapaloosa. Ragusa is The Best Chocolate In The World!!! Ooooh, you know, that could actually be do-able. I'm off to their website suggestion box!
Love you guys!
Thanx all for the pics!
Billy, still waiting to see the CF set list & what you & RW were rockin' da house with...if it's not too much to ask :)

Billy,

Um... This is kind of old news, but I just found out that you had this page. I was the girl that didn't really win a guitar on CFR, but you and Dave gave me one anyway. I just wanted to thank you for being abosolutely wonderful; I'm usually more talkative but I was nervous meeting the two of you for the first time. I also wanted to apologize for not bringing you anything, I think it was kinda rude, and I felt bad about it. My apologies.
But again, thank you for the guitar, kindness, and everything else.

What a great question! (and no, I'm not just saying that because I own a small ice cream shoppe)

My flavor would probably be: Intra-feine-nous

Coffee flavored ice cream, with chocolate covered espresso beans and a fudge swirl

Sue

And thanks to everyone who shared their NYC stories and pictures!

Welcome Home Billy! I have to ask...would you actually EAT either of those ice cream flavors you named for yourself??? lol

I think I would have to be Cori's Coffee and Coconut Crackle...

Billy, It was a huge let down that I couldn't see the gig in NY. I won the contest and made my way to the address I was e-mailed...And nobody was there! Luckily I had just got off from college which is 4 blocks away.It sucks that I missed it but you still rule.Next time you are in NY I hope to be 1 foot from the stage and afterwards I want an autograph!

Be Cool,
Kefer

Billy, who won the El Faro tix last night?
I am going anyway, and would love to hook up with winners!!

Welcome home Billy, glad to have you back. I hear the NY shows were fabulous and hopefully some record exec heard and saw something they liked. You guys well deserve a contract.

CFR was a riot last night. You and Dave had us in stitches for most of the show. I want to thank you for playing "that" song by Sophie. I don't think Dave particularly liked it and it's probably not your type of music but I appreciate you playing it. It's one of my all time fav songs.

As for ice cream, I'm a plain person myself but to make it sound a little exotic, you could say I'd be "crème française de glace à la vanille" which is just french vanilla ice cream. LOL The french makes it sound much classier. ;)

hugs,
tina

Mmmmmmm, ice cream.
If I could make my own flavor, it would be the blackest of dark chocolate, with red raspberry, watermelon, and bubble gum swirled in.
I have no idea what I'd call it, though.

Posted by: linda at May 8, 2005 04:29 PM

ummm, jezzi's jujube jambalaya?

Hey, Billy, can you make a quick post about the authenticity of guest host spot on CFR being auctioned on eBay? I am getting a bit of ribbing about my bid, and some doubts as to whether it's legit...

jezzi(love to you and yours)

Hi Billy~
Dave may have already told you about this..but go check out his 6767 tv! I'm glued to it.
Currently watching Camp Freddy's "Should I Stay or Should I Go" Takes a while to load, but worth it.
You guys are great!!!
That's me stuck at the computer all day watching these clips.

"Junebug's Jamming Java" or Elsa's Easy (can't think of anything with an E at the moment)..

Yes, who won the El Faro tix? I was through. Really. First I try to call in for the CD, my daughter and I were going to do the Sports Chalet thing and that other person won. THEN I kept calling in during Sophie B, and nothing.. it was like rewarding the child for bad behavior and punishing the other for good behavior.. do those phones have caller ID???

Have a great day Billy!

Sorry! Welcome Back!!

Posted by: Junebug at May 9, 2005 08:30 AM

The 6767 TV is having technical difficulties.
:(

Posted by: ylais at May 9, 2005 02:05 PM

You know me, I keep stopping by to see if you've posted Billy! I have a few questions about Camp Freddy Radio ~ Watching the clips made me think, Is Dono going to be on CFR again? It's been a while. I know Matt Sorum is really busy, but will he be in sometime? And Chris Chaney, will he ever stop by CFR?
Dave put Camp Teddy on hold, well told them to wait because it was the Whole Lotta Love segment, and then there was no Camp Teddy. I love Camp Teddy! Can you maybe call them to make sure they get on, or something? The dudes have been practicing and waiting to get on for a while now. It's been a few weeks. That's me talking all for myself. They haven't twisted my arms! I think they're great.
Loads of love Lisa xxxx
