MIDWEEK MADNESS
So its midweek again, and I have been back from Palm Springs less than 24 hours, and its all go again!! We had a great rehearsal last night - played every song we know to our managers who are involved with us in working out the best set to play in New York. We played 18 tracks ( a whole arena set - an hour and three quarters!!) We were all fucked by the end of it!! But the band sounded great and we are all feeling good about the up-coming shows. Lets hope that it translates into a record. We are so ready to get it done!!
Palm Springs was nice and relaxing - I really should get down there more often. Jen and I love it down there, but we both get caught up in our busy lives and forget that its just two hours drive away. But we relaxed and went to the spa and ate good meals. Rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit in three days. I like it!!
Jezzi - The Charity event is NOT the same as the Cantrell/Navarro one. Ours is a benefit for the Friends Of El Faro Charity. Here is a portion of the press release to give you all some details .....
Since November of 2000, Friends of El Faro have been traveling to Tijuana every five to six weeks to spend the weekend with the more then 100 children of “Casa Hogar Sion” orphanage. It is here, where children, who have been abandoned or abused or neglected, have found a home, a place where they are safe and cared for, nourished and loved. It is here, where we do what they can to take care of the children, and Mama Carmen and Papa Jorge and the staff, remarkable people who have created a home for children who did not have one. Everything from cooking meals to building playgrounds, changing diapers, playing, showing outdoor movies, breaking up fights, and most importantly, letting the children know, and showing them that they are loved and cherished and important.
The charity is trying to keep this orphanage alive, and Doheny are proud to help. The show is at The Henry Fonda Theatre on May 13th. More details to follow.
Toby - It was our pleasure to have you down at the show and to give you your prize. And to answer your question, I think I currently own 14 Les Pauls.
Mayhem and FHeart - Look closely at the Freddy pics. I always apply a little 'Mac' when I hit the stage with those guys. I have to - they are all so damn hot!! Especially that Navarro character!!
Got some work to do on the Freddy album this week, and also some more Doheny rehearsal. Plus a bunch of work to do on the CF show in Vegas at the end of this month. So its no rest for the wicked. Have a great day everyone, and thanks for checking in. Hope to see a few of you at the show on Sat 23rd April at The Gig on Melrose. Till next time - adios, amigos. PS - LOVE this pic taken by Michael Muller at the Doheny Key Club show a few months back. Later peeps.
Peace
Billy

Hi Billy,
Glad to here you had a little RNR in Palm Springs.
Q: Do you think I could have a good time in P.S. with my girlfriend with out big buck. Or is it for the wealthy?
Matt

Billy!! Yay!! I can go to that one, because they said the other was a private event...
And just a reminder to princessabby, mortisha8, wendybird, and all Dohenyites, Let's get together on the 23rd at THE GIG!!!! Meet me at my hotel for the pre-concert festivities!!
Billy,if you took the 10 to get to Palm Springs, more likely than not, you passed through my little town of Redlands, next time, HONK!!!
and Matt, there are lots of things to do in Palm Springs that don't cost big bucks, there are a couple casinos, as well as hot springs that are pretty reasonable, If you don't mind, I will email you some locations
Have a great day, everyone

Billy,
OK, with the 18 song rehearsal for management last night and a gig in NYC, something tells me were getting close to a deal.
Any news?
Also, what's up with the CF gig in Vegas
later this month?
Details please.
Thank you,
Jay

hey, sorry i've been quiet the past two weeks. Just having a bad time at work and did not want to bring my bad mood here to share with everyone.
Anyway, Lisa has missed me and so I came back to let her know I'm still alive and all that. Also trying to find a new place to live, it's really a difficult thing to do when you have so many conditions that have to be met in order for me to say, "that's the place for me". I hate moving. :)
Billy, glad you were able to relax, I had just got back from a week's vacation myself last week. Sometimes though it doesn't pay to leave work because it seems you only come back to messes. Don't get me wrong, I do like my job, most of the time. ;) But we all have our days, eh?
As for Doheny's NY trip, I'll write a special blessing for you all and hope things do go very well for you.
I also got a new toy (dvd writer) and that has kept me occupied a bit playing around with it and learning how everything works (or at least learning enough to get by). LOL
Well back to work for me, take care everyone.
hugs,
tina

Yeah Tina! Good to see you on here. You got my message on my space then.
How are you bunny slippers?
I'm wearing my teddy bear slippers!
My guitar teacher came by for the lesson, and there I was with giant teddies on my feet. Oops! So used to them, forgot to change my shoes. Nevermind it's my home and I can do what I like. Tina~hope you find the home for you.
Billy~Glad you and Jen had a lovely time in Palm Springs. I could go for some of that spa stuff myself.
Nice new header!
love and hugs
Lisa
