BITS AND PIECES

DhaprreminderThe radio show last night was so much fun. Dave was on rare form and we clicked immediately. Took a lot of calls, played some great music and had Brent visit us towards the end. He was joining me on this TV thing we were doing last night - a reality show about a car service in LA that they asked me to take part in. That small room got a little crowded with the three of us, plus TK, and the cameras!! But it was fun to do, and Dave cut out five minutes before the end to let us do our thing. Thanks mate. And big apologies to the Camp Teddy boys - they got through to me on the phone about three minutes before the end of the show!! So we didnt have time to hear them!! But call us next week guys - and call us before 7.57pm!! Oh, and the answer to your question about my Marshall cabs? They are a matched pair of flat fronted vintage grill 4 x 12's with 25watt Greenback celestions in them.

Tina has sent me a couple of cool 'reminder' card artwork things. I think the idea is really cool - a kind of small Doheny flyer thing that street teams can hand out, people can download from the sites and put on their fridge, or their board at college etc. I used the Gig one for todays pic to show you. Clever girl, that Tina!! And Skott has also done a new banner - check out the web banners page - nice choice of tatts, Skott. Any objections if I shove that in Photoshop and tweak about with your idea? Its great when we get art that you guys have done - I love to see your interpretation of the image and the visual message of Doheny. Keep em coming.

Bobbi-O - Nice story about your ex. And I get what you are saying about different hair, different woman. But the answer for me is No. She seems like the same woman I've always loved, but with different colored hair!!!

Cori - A big welcome to you. Thanks for the kind words and hope you enjoy Doheny. Feel free to jump into the madness here anytime you want.

Kim - Thank you for offering to send me the acoustic MP3 but I actually already have it. But I DO have the CD you sent me, and I intend to listen to it in the car this week. Thanks mate.

Ylais - YES!!! What is it with cats??!! Good observation. I am much more of a dog guy. They seem to offer the unconditional love that we want out of pets a lot more freely. And by the way - the accent thing that James was doing is a 'thing' that all the drivers do. His real name was Don. Nice guy.

Matt - Jeff Beck is an absolutely incredible player. What he can do with a guitar just makes my mind explode. My favourite album would probably have to be Guitar Shop ..... or maybe Blow By Blow (a classic).

OK - Sunday. Time to hook up with a few friends, maybe watch Exorcist, The Beginning on DVD - give the new TV a proper spin, and also try out the new PS2 game Brothers In Arms. Looks to be a good one. Next week is all Doheny rehearsals, apart from one day of Camp Freddy album, so I intend to chill today before all that starts. Also have to get my arrangements sorted for a quick trip to London so I'll get that locked in today as well. Thanks to everyone for hanging out here and keeping the faith. Looking forward to playing again - I am .......... gone.

Peace

Billy

PS - What happens in the Torture Garden, stays in the Torture Garden ......... until I write my book!!!

Comments

I have a cat and a dog, and the cat's being a winging pain at the moment, so I'm going to go with dogs too. My dog is a border collie. I think they're my favourite just because they seem more intelligent then most, and more emotive (next door has a couple of greyhounds I can't stand, ugly tiny-brained dogs they are).

Thanks for letting me know you got the CD ok. Hope you like it (and hey, if not, it's free!). Total Guitar did a nice review recently, so we're well chuffed.

All the best

Kim

I received this from a fellow 6767er, Snowhite, and I had to share...... Have a beautiful Sunday, people..

Where do pets come from?

A newly discovered chapter in the Book of Genesis has provided the
answer to "Where do pets come from?"

Adam and Eve said, "Lord, when we were in the garden, you walked with
us every day. Now we do not see you any more. We are lonesome here,
and it is difficult for us to remember how much you love us."

And God said, "No problem! I will create a companion for you that
will be with you forever and who will be a reflection of my love for
you, so that you will love me even when you cannot see me. Regardless
of how selfish or childish or unlovable you may be, this new companion
will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of
yourselves."

And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam and Eve.

And it was a good animal.

And God was pleased.

And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and Eve and he wagged his tail.

And Adam said, "Lord, I have already named all the animals in the
Kingdom and I cannot think of a name for this new animal."

And God said, "No problem. Because I have created this new animal to
be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of
my own name, and you will call him DOG."

And Dog lived with Adam and Eve and was a companion to them and loved them.

And they were comforted.

And God was pleased.

And Dog was content and wagged his tail.

After a while, it came to pass that an angel came to the Lord and
said, "Lord, Adam and Eve have become filled with pride. They strut
and preen like peacocks and they believe they are worthy of adoration.
Dog has indeed taught them that they are loved, but perhaps too well."

And God said, "No problem! I will create for them a companion who will
be with them forever and who will see them as they are. The companion
will remind them of their limitations, so they will know that they are
not always worthy of adoration."

And God created CAT to be a companion to Adam and Eve.

And Cat would not obey them. And when Adam and Eve gazed into Cat's
eyes, they were reminded that they were not the supreme beings. And
Adam and Eve learned humility.

And they were greatly improved.

And God was pleased.

And Dog was happy.

And Cat didn't give a shit one way or the other.

Photoshopping must be the Doheny zeitgeist right now. I don't have Photoshop; but I just downloaded the trial version last night, and played around with it, and what was I doing but playing around with a Billy picture! (hope that's okay Billy..I think it's one of your own photos. I call it your "Jesus Christ Pose" pic) Well, my very first Photoshop effort is posted on Doheny comments on myspace.

I love Tina's idea! Tina, do you use Photoshop? Your work is always so well executed.

Billy~When is this reality show on?

Love and hugs
Lisa

I spent today out with my DOG, walking in the woods. Lovely out there with all the daffodils, and primroses, all the flowers are yellow ones right now. I took some photos too.
And I sprained my knee!

I was nosing around looking for tickets to the CF show in Las Vegas on 4/30...no luck yet...is this a private party???

Kim...fellow dog lover here...I love Border Collies but, my sweet Cocker Spaniel is pretty special too ;)

Hi Jezzi...love that story, I have a similar one I'll have to look for, I think you'll get a kick out of it.

It wouldn't be a problem to host gifs and movies. :-)

Just finished building a Humane Society website last week, so I'll be working on the Doheny Multimedia site some more this week.

I know this is totally off topic, but... While driving home tonight, I came within inches of nailing two deer, I swerved between the two of them and missed them both at 65mph. That's the closest I've ever seen deer!

Have a good one, everyone!

Posted by: Karen at April 10, 2005 11:58 PM

Karen~Thank goodness you managed to miss those deer; so neither you nor they got hurt.

That cat got your tongue thing just happened to me. I was on the TPC board. I couldn't sleep. My leg after that walk hurt. So I got up and was poking around on there; and no one else was on; which was odd. Then Dave Navarro signed in, and I went all shy and embarrassed.
My heart's pounding. I feel so silly!

(rolling my eyes at myself)

Posted by: ylais at April 11, 2005 01:24 AM

morning, can you believe we're suppose to get SNOW tonight and tomrorow????? Sorry I am so disgusted right now I had to share. ;)

Thanks Lisa and I use Photoshop about 10% and Paint Shop Pro 90%. I wouldn't even have photoshop if I hadn't received it as a gift because I know PSP so much better and it does almost everything I want.

Karen, glad to see you and the deer weren't hurt. That would be pretty scary. See that's why I don't drive. ;)

Oh Lisa, no need to be shy, then I'm one to talk ;) If there was an award for shyness I would win it. ;b

Okay billy, get to work on your book, you don't have enough to do anyway, right? ;)

hugs,
tina

Lisa the cat got your tongue? I dont believe it, no cat would be fast enough.
I know what you are getting at coz in reality you dont want to bother him, and you also dont want to ignore him, so waddya do?
Poor Lisa. Poor knee.

Posted by: DaveC at April 11, 2005 08:09 AM

Yeah, it was pretty scary. I had my brights off because of oncoming traffic, and when I turned my brights back on there were two deer crossing the road. When they are right in front of your car they are much larger than what they look when they are along side the road! If I had hit one, I would have hit it's legs and it would have landed right in the windshield. I don't mind driving, but I have a fear of hitting a deer. Can't imagine why... ;-)
