BEDTIME STORIES
Yesterday was a good day for me. The morning was spent just running around doing errands, and spending some time with my beautiful wife. Then the afternoon was some more Camp Freddy stuff. Another guest vocalist laid down some stuff on one of the tracks and it sounded fantastic. Mike Clink and I were excited - we havent been able to get anything done for a week or two, so it was nice to lock another guest in, and even nicer to have it go so smoothly and so well. We talked about what we need to get the first four or five songs completely done, and suprisingly we dont appear to need to much more. Hopefully we can get the last few bits and pieces recorded on those few songs, and then we will go and mix them, get a track or two on the radio, and start letting people hear some stuff. Once we get to that stage, the rest of the record should fall into place pretty easily.
Matt - Palm Springs does not have to cost an arm and a leg. Its so beautiful out there that you can do it on a dime and still be rested and relaxed. Joshua Tree is so amazing, and costs nothing to drive around. Google a few things and come up with a few days holiday. You wont be disappointed.
Jay - I am just not going to go into any details. Lets just say that for the next four or five weeks, anyone wanting to hear a Doheny record should be putting us in their prayers!! And the CF site just got an update, so check it out. Basically, the Hard Rock 10th Birthday Party is a three day event, and I believe there are tickets available.
Sue - I LOVE the blue background! Cant we get a bigger version and send it to Karen, who is working on a Doheny Multimedia site? Maybe Karen could host a few gifs and movies that you guys come up with ...... whaddya think Karen?
Jezzi - Who is this Sophie? She is performing at the benefit with us. Tell me more. And while I am on the subject, expect one or two 'added extras' that night. A couple of friends might be learning a Doheny song especially for the occasion.
Sherry - I think the Gig is over 21 unfortunately, but call em up and ask. I know I have seen people younger when we played there before, but they might have been doing the 'Fake ID' thing. Now theres an idea......!!!
Junebug - Thats sweet of you to see about donations. These people are really working hard to improve kids lives, and they need all the help they can get. Thank you.
Tina - We all missed you. Welcome back. And remember - DONT let the bastards grind you down. Life is what you make it, and if you stop to smell the flowers every day, your spirit will grow and your life will become larger than you ever dreamed. Glad you are back.
Kim and Ylais - Thanks for checking in and being a part of the Doheny Family here. ALWAYS nice to hear from you two.
And Leon, ...... oh Leon!! Drunken stories you want, huh? Tales of Rock and Roll excess in St Johns Wood? Well, I used to live up there for a while, and the place we lived at was a top floor apartment in a five floor building. About six of us lived there, girls and boys, and a bunch of our friends were always hanging out as well. A full party house always. One night, one of the girls starts screaming that her cat had got out of the window and onto the roof and was stuck. Now I had been relaxing in front of the TV, just taking it easy. You know, consuming ridiculous amounts of booze, pills and dubious powdered substances, and I was pretty much out for the count! But the screaming woke me up. So being the 'Get out of the way and let me fix it' kinda guy, I stumbled over to the window, pushed everyone out of the way, and climbed out onto the roof of the building. Five floors up. Completely wasted. Not a good idea. I made my way along the edge to where the stupid cat was hissing and spitting, and grabbed it. Now you would think that it would have been happy to have seen me. Happy to be saved. But no. This cat went ballistic!! Scratching me all over, twisting, turning. And I am standing on the edge of a roof, a LONG way up, out of my mind on all kinds of stuff!! I hold the cat out at arms length and stumble back over to the window, and get it back in safely. But when I think of what could have happened, it scares the shit out of me. I could hardly walk in a straight line on the sidewalk, let alone on the roof of a building, with a very scared animal in one hand!! The moral of the story? There isnt one!! It just never ceases to amaze me the kind of mad shit we do when we are loaded!! And the first thing I did when I got back inside the window? Get loaded again!!!
OK - enough story telling. On with the day. Logistics for the Camp Freddy show, and running through the Doheny songs to make sure I know my parts 150%. Thank you all for taking time out to be here - lets start a new round of building the Family. Spread the word people. Welcome the newcomers!!! Tomorrow is another fun filled, thrill packed CFR with Dave. Dont miss it!! And check out Sean and Tony in the pic, getting all 'Rock Star!!' Love it. I am outta here.
Peace
Billy

Sophie B. Hawkins is a wonderful, give it all you've got, singer/songwriter, a little outside the box, exudes sexuality!
She had a bit of radio success with the single "Damm, I wish I were your Lover" and there are a couple others I love, can't think of the names right now
I saw a documentary on her on one of those independent film channels, I think it was IFC, might have been Sundance..
anyway, you have the technology people, whatever you call it, to search and download her music, I strongly suggest it
I have totally coopted the blue Billy for my own, it's my avatar at the Panic Community, with the signature underneath that says "I want to be your dog"
And did you say 'special guests'? IT's ONNN
now, Junieb, let's GO, it's tax deductible!!
have a great day, Billy, looking forward to CFR tomorrow

so i was perusing some cf pics on wireimage and google, etc. and i have come to the conclusion that you have a wife that changed her hair color from blonde to brown. my question to you is...did it feel like you had a new woman?
i bring this up because my last girlfriend died her hair from blonde to brown juuuust as i was about to break up with her - changing her hair color bought her another month or so. at first it was great, especially in the sack, i felt like it was another woman at time (unfortunately, every time she spoke a word, i faced the harsh reality that this was indeed the same person).

ok, I just remembered the other song she did, As I lay me down to sleep, this I pray, something something...and I will wake up happy...something...
ok, I'm officially a rambling fool today, inhaling too many art supply fumes, back to the cherubs..
bobbi...ROFL....I've BEEN the girl that changed her hair color...

Altered and enlarged the image:

Karen should be able to right-click and save the image from its location. If not, I will email it.
Great St Johns Wood story, but when will we hear tales of the Torture Garden?

Funny/scary story about the drunken/wasted night and the cat. I'm not a rock star, but I have a few stories like that.
My ex-husband was (well, still is actually) an alcoholic (which is why we're not together anymore). He once got up on the roof of the house when he was wasted and dove into the pool on a dare. He's lucky he didn't kill himself, he did scrape up his chin pretty bad though. GAH. I still get mad when I think about it.

hey everyone, thanks for the comments billy, glad to be back.
Lisa, yep I'm still in my bunny slippers. I know what you mean about forgetting that you're wearing them sometime and someone drops by. LOL One day I answered the door and the postman was looking at my feet so I wiggled the slippers are him; he handed me my package and rolled his eyes at me and left. heh don't think he was too impressed with them. ;b
I love Sophie as well. She's a very passionate singer. billy, she'd be an awesome addition to a camp freddy show sometime. Check out her music, I think you'll like her.
I just finished watching the Exorcist: the Beginning. Not bad, pretty gory in places. Of Course the orignal Exorcist is my fav movie.
Well I'm off to find what mischief I can get into.
hugs,
tina

Damn, I have been out of the loop again. Been busy getting sick. I had to get myself to the ENT to the other day only to find out I had a major sinus infection and a deviate septum. It's fun stuff. But hey, I got some nasal spray, some serious antibiotics, and a lovely cat scan. Hopefully I'll be back more to read the blog and see how everyone is doing. Hope you are doing well Tina. I miss ya. Hope everyone is well. Big hugs and kisses to all (via internet as to not spread my germs).

Hi Billy!

Billy, I've managed to get an Mp3 recorded of you and Jon on Camp Freddy Radio performing your new song 'Part Of The Machine'. Might sound a bit silly asking as it's your own song, but would you like me to send it to you?
Posted by: Kim at April 9, 2005 12:00 PM
Tina~ rofl..you wiggled your bunnies at him.
Posted by: ylais at April 9, 2005 01:14 PM
Anyone for cucumber sandwiches?
Posted by: ylais at April 9, 2005 01:15 PM
What is it with cats? They wail to come down, and then you go get them, and they attack you.
I look back on things like that, and think damn..how did I do that..I was only a kid..much younger..I wouldn't even do it now..well probably not anyway.
(edited the rude words out)

Billy~Did you know that guy James on CFR was faking the accent all the time? I figured you must have. I knew right away. I kept saying, "It's fake. It's fake!" Were you in on that?
I would laugh my arse off if someone picked me up and was talking like that. (Sorry James)
Is he going for the Parker from Thunderbirds accent, or the "Cockney Cabby from Newquay".
rofl.
