FLOWER POWER

FlowerpowerGood morning everyone! First of all I have to thank you all for the kind words about the radio show on Saturday. It just isnt the same without my boy Dave or Dono, but Billy Duffy stepped in at the last minute and we had a lot of fun. I just figured that it was better to do a show, than to air a re-run. So we winged it!! The acoustic stuff was a laugh - yes, I was nervous to do Rain, but hopefully it sounded ok!! We got to spin a bunch of cool tunes and hang out together for a couple of hours. And it seems you guys liked it - I am very happy about that. Word on the street is that this coming weekend we are back to normal, with Steve Issacs and Jon Clayden as guests. Looking forward to that.

Yesterday was a day of editing at the Camp Freddy studio with Mike Clink. And I am happy to say that we made a lot of progress. We now have three songs ready to mix. The plan is to do one more day of editing next week and then take four songs into a studio in the hills to mix them. They really do sound great, and I cannot wait to have a mix to play on the radio. I believe Dave has one more solo to do, and then we will be done on those four tracks. We've tracked 16 songs though, so its gonna be a while before we are finished!! I think we just want to finish the first four so that we feel we are making progress!! Its a long process - but worth the wait.

Doheny are back in the rehearsal studio tonight. Hopefully we will continue to get the new ones up to scratch and we will decide where we want to do some shows in LA. More news on that when we make our minds up!!!

Not a lot to tell right now - its definately a studio week - Camp Freddy Album, Doheny Demos with Jon, Doheny Rehearsals. I might go and see the Brides Of Destruction tomorrow at The Key Club but thats about it. I started playing a PS2 game called Killzone and I think the way this week is looking, I might have it finished by Saturday!!

Jezzi - The 'guest' on the love sack is my beautiful wife, Jennifer!!
Kim - Send me a CD and I will give it a listen.
Julia - Welcome back from the land of fries and snails!! Where's my string of onions?
Steven - LA shows for Doheny will be happening soon. Just trying to work out where we wanna play!!

Thats it for today - have a great week and I'll be back in a day or so to pose a few questions to you all for the weekend. Its always fun reading your answers!! Till then.....enjoy the new direction from Doheny as seen in todays pic - its FLOWER POWER DOHENY!!!

Peace

Billy

Billy,

Do you see the Camp Freddy album releasing single(s) to radio?

With all the remakes making the rounds, (Korn, Manson et al.) I would think you guys could have some chart success if a single caught on at radio...

Thoughts?

Thank you,
Jay

I thought I recognized your lovely wife from the other picture you posted. So, do tell, when are you going to welcome an addition to your family? Four-legged, that is!!

Well, thank you Billy for the lovely welcome back! It's good to be back in the USA. I really ate too much good food over there in France...and it doesn't help when it's your own family feeding you and you can't refuse. Sorry, no string of onions...but there were frog legs a-plenty (no, I didn't partake...yuck...). Still, you'd love France, Billy--the land of coffee drinkers and smokers.
Still...good to be back...very good.

Billy,

I hope all is well.

I have a very important question... do you ever rock some aviator sunglasses? I recently got some and I will never go back.

Long live the aviators.

Good morning Billy!!
Today, at school, the littlest rogues are celebrating Dr. Suess' birthday with a Read Across America celebration,They come to school in their jammies, with their pillows and stuffed animals, and spend the day just reading, oh, and eating my special green eggs and ham...
Do you have a favorite book from your childhood?
love,
jezzi

Chat still on for this sunday? You know, one of these days one of you guys have got to get colin and tony into the chatroom. We promise not to hurt them. ;)

Well I'm about to go to a meeting to find out what new accounts I'm being given *ick* so wish me luck.

Just posted this over at TPC... thought I'd share it here, too...

Report: Woman 'tastes' musical notes

LONDON, England (Reuters) -- Music can be a mouth-watering experience for one Swiss musician who "tastes" combinations of notes as distinct flavors, according to a report in the science journal Nature.

The 27-year-old woman known as E.S. is a synaesthete, someone who experiences sensation in more than one sense from the same stimulation, researchers said on Wednesday.

When E.S. hears tone intervals, the difference in pitch between two tones, she not only can see the musical notes as different colors but can taste the sounds.
