WEDNESDAY STYLE

Clayden_1Morning all!! I've been concentrating on these new songs and its really paying off. Mondays rehearsal was very cool - we jammed all the ideas that we have as a band, and worked out arrangements, riff changes, timing stuff etc. Two or three ideas very quickly turned into songs. So yesterday I sketched out each one in the computer and got them sounding ok. Sean is coming today to put his guitar parts down and Jon will put his vocal ideas down tomorrow. And Voila!! More good Doheny tunes! We now have about 21 songs, and we are working hard in the rehearsal room to have every one sounding as good as it can.
We also spoke about doing some shows and we will get it organized soon. Stuff is going on and we are waiting to see how it all pans out before we do anything. So we are just doing what we should be doing - which is making sure the music works. Patience everyone.

Shay - Welcome to the Doheny family. Hope you become a regular face around here. Everyone on the Blog is super nice and we are all glad you stopped in.
Theresa - Do I remember what first turned me on? Yeah - it was these adverts for Lingerie in the back of the Sunday newspapers. Probably explains why underwear still does it for me (among MANY other things!!)
RP - Susannah Hoffs for SHIZZZLE!!! That is one hot lady!! And she walks like an Egyptian as well!!
Sue - We actually never got around to talking to Leigh about Adam. Dont think he's is contact with him any more. But we will get Adam eventually.....oh yes, we'll get him!!
Matt - Cream? Well, to be honest, none of us are that excited by the reunion. You know, I'm not knocking Clapton or anything - he's a great player and a lovely guy.....its just that its a little 'Prog' for me. Good luck to em, though. I doubt I will be in the front row....(or even in the bar!)
Welcome back Karen, and thank you Mortisha8 for the well wishes to Jen. Very sweet of you.

So Ylais asked a bunch of questions for the band, and they all have copies and will be sending me answers over the next few days. Here are some of Jon's answers -

What was the last thing you put in your mouth?
Listerine. They have a new citrus flavor that doesn’t rip your face off.

What rumour would you like to start about yourself?
That I was incredibly handsome, rich, talented, athletic, generous, a friend of the animals, loved by the people and killer in the sack.

What would surprise people about you?
I can dream in French.

What song do you want played at your funeral?
ACDC “Back In Black” it’s written into my will.

What's it like working, playing, being with Billy in a band?
Arduous, but we all struggle through it for the cash.
(I KNOW he's messing around......cos there isn't any cash!!!!)

More answers from the other guys as the days roll by - I'm off to do some work. Have a great day everyone, and thanks for being here. And a huge thanks to Debbie Van Story at abacausa.com for being cool about letting me post her great pictures on here. You rule.

Peace

Billy

Hey-
I sent a reply to the mail, but maybe its more effective is to post here...(?)
I wanted to say I am scoping LA out as a possible relocation after I complete my graduate studies- that's the reason for my upcoming trip.
My question is: How reasonable it to believe I can actually get into a show- with crowds and guest lists?
Thanks for prompt response- your a very classy guy!
It snowing here- sans Don Johnson- Although, I think I spotted him a couple of days ago...
Thanks Again,
s
You can disregard the my email reply

Billy:

I think Jon's my soulmate...oh, and I'd love to start one particular rumor about him!! :)

Is there any word on the sale of the posters from the Key Club gig?

By the way, my funeral songs (plural) are Highway to Hell & Runnin' with the Devil. I think I'm wrong, but anyone who knew me would get the joke!

YEAH! Jon answered some questions! That's too cool!
Jon~If you're reading this, one rumour, one! ;) Loved seeing your answers.

There must be some odd ACDC vibe going on today, because I've been maniacally playing "Back In Black" (as well as I can, which involves making lots of grungy noises)

So excited Doheny has some new songs.

And Billy, you will get Adam Ant, you will, you will, you will!

Billy, do you call Adam by his real name Stuart? Just occurred to me. Surely people that know him call him Stu, or something?

Loads of love
Lisa

great to hear your songs came out well and have even more to choose from when you guys finally get in to record your cd.

Loved Jon's answers.

I have a question you can ask 3 of them. We know your birthday and Sean's, but can the guys tell us their birthday dates?

Billy, did you ever get past that place in the game you were stuck in?

hugs,
tina

Matt

Billy,

I know this is a vague question at best considering the fucked up state of the music biz but I'll ask anyway...

Are we getting any closer to a completed Doheny record and full fledged tour?

Thank you,
Jay

Tina, I know Jon's Birthday is March 24th because mine is the day after. Although for some reason, his seems to get moe attention than mine does. Go figure.

Suzanne.

Posted by: Zannebee at February 3, 2005 08:44 AM

That was meant to read "more attention".

Nobody really wants "Moe attention".

Posted by: Zannebee at February 3, 2005 08:46 AM

thanks Suzanne, LOL you know, knowing Lisa, she WOULD probably like moe attention. ;)

hey Lisa, I was over at alarm board and I see some *ahem* fans you could say, threw a few beer bottles at Duffy saturday night while performing at the gathering. Sheesh some people's kids.

I'm all giddy today because I took tomorrow off as a me day, I do every february. So today is friday for me and NO WORK TOMORROW!!!!

hugs,
tina ;)

yeah me again! Suzanne, I was going to say I know what you mean about birthdays. Mine is sat and Billy's is Feb 9th, but who do you think will hog.... errrmmm get all the attention?????

J/k Billy, you know I love ya! LOL As my friend Sharon is fond of saying to me.... "When you're being nice to be I know you're mad at me. When you tease me I know you really love me." LOL I guess she's right. ;)

It's great that you've got 21 songs down, but it's going to be difficult shortening the list down for an album, especially if it's only going to be 10 songs for example. It's kind of a double edge sword in that respect.

For some stupid arsed reason, kids aka little boys, in the UK are into this bottle throwing thing lately.
They throw them at everyone when they go to a concert. I don't know why that started, or who the total idiots are that started it, but I swear to god, I'll hunt them down!!!!!

I've made huge wrestlers quake in their boots!

And I am currently in a very upset mood. My dog ate my Adam and the Ants LP cover inner sleeve...I've had it since I got it in England when it first came out. It's like he destroyed part of me, the little sod. Luckily I'm soft with animals. :D So I went and hid and cried.

Love to all,
Lisa
