MY NAME IS KIIIIIIID.......

Davedoheny_evergreenKid Rock and Lynrd Skynrd at The House Of Blues. Perfect sound, great songs, great night. That guy knows how to entertain a crowd. It doesnt matter if you like his brand of southern hip hop cowboy metal or not (I actually love it) - you HAVE to appreciate the professionalism and entertainment value when he steps onto a stage. Last night, the sound was perfect and his band were just ridiculously tight. Lynrd Skynrd (whats left of em) joined him onstage for an amazing version of Sweet Home Alabama and rocked an absolutely sold out HOB. Excellent fun.

CFR tomorrow and I have a friend of mine visiting the studio - Mr Ricky Warwick. Ricky was the frontman for UK band, The Almighty and has recently been releasing solo albums and touring with Def Leppard. The guy steps out onto an arena stage with just an acoustic guitar and starts playing!! That takes some balls, people!! Anyway, Ricky will be in the studio tomorrow and I am pretty sure the acoustics will be down there as well, for some live, Camp Freddy style jams. Not sure if Dave will be making it down, as he is deep in the 'record making' process, but I am sure he'll call in if he cant make it. Big Up Dave - cant WAIT to hear the record......proud of you, mate.

Today I'm gonna hole up in my studio and mix the demo of Doheny's new song, Part Of The Machine. Its pissing with rain here in LA so its a perfect day to stay inside and get some work done. (Isnt that what I do every day?!!) I'll have the song done and finished by end of play today. Then Jon and I can move on to the next one, a huge riff based song, with a working title of By My Own Design. My guy at Audio Technica (the company that makes my wireless guitar system) sent me some new AT mics, so I'll hook them up and do all my backing vocals today, and spend the evening mixing the whole thing. Oh, and Jon and I were talking yesterday about booking a Doheny LA show in March. We are just trying to figure out where and when to do it. I'll let you know.

Chase - you are a star. Thanks for putting the interview up (although I hate the sound of my own voice!!)

OK - Outta here. Let me leave you with a question. What songs do you want to hear on CFR tomorrow? Yeah, thats right, I want to play some stuff that you lot want to hear. Post your answers today and I will do what I can when I am getting my tracks together tomorrow morning. Its cos I love you all!!!!

Take it easy and have a great day.

Peace

Billy

'Smack My Bitch Up' is always a good choice.

There's a song on Dave's 'TNO' album that sounds very familiar to a song on Tommy Lee's 'Never A Dull Moment' album. I don't have the name to either song handy at the moment, but playing those back to back might be interesting.

Perhaps someone else reading this knows of the two songs I'm referring to?

The Almighty! I haven't heard that name in a while. Great band! Saw them play at the Limelight in NYC once if I remember correctly. Now I've got Blood, Fire, and Love running through my head. Will have to dig that cd out & throw it in the car for my road trip!

Hmm...do you have any Circus of Power (self titled), Billy? I wouldn't mind hearing that on CF Radio. Or that song Psychotic Reaction? How about some Motorhead? Hole from Live Through This? Ministry from the Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste?

Doheny show in March? Awesome!

You must be SO psyched for the benefit show with Ozzy! I got my ticket & can't wait!!! :)

Alchemy

P.S. - Hey Holly, I don't know the songs, but I'll second "Smack My Bitch Up". How about some Lords of Acid?

During October CFR, Juliette Lewis made a comment that she wanted to hear a different song by The Licks than one Indie plays, can you do that?

How about ummmm The Panic Channel, but not Bloody Mary?

Maybe something from Camp Freddy, just a tease?
and...um....um....Garbage/Polar Bear two fer
oh, and have you and Dave mixed any more vocals for your emo song?

Please, please, please, please, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease play "Pressure" by Skindred. Got to big up the UK boys while doing their thing in USA, and they're great guys to boot! More then worthy of some Indie CFR airplay.

I'm determined to be one of the first to call in as your lines seem to be wide open, so I've set my phone to speed dial!

Hope the weather clears up

Kim

PS: I listened to that radio interview after I'd just gotten home from the Crobar after a gig in Camden! Made me smile at the coincidence :)

Loved the interview as well.

I'd love to hear Dust again if that's possible.

Here's an oldie that's one of my favs. If possible, would love to hear 68 Guns by the Alarm. That song brings back memories.

Have a good one.

First of all Mr. Billy Morrison, happy two days after your birthday And we Absolutely Love the sound of your voice. You have a great great great voice. "Comfy Couch-like" and 3xG better than ok is a blessing y'know. It is strange to hear yourself from afar though, it's like being out of and above your own body or something like that. Strange sensation yes, but many cool things are... :)
I may not be able to catch it tomorrow night, but
I would love to hear some Avengers (Amerikan in me/We are the one), Runaways (Saturday Night Special),Joan Jett (Fetish) or Misfits (Die Die Darling)on CFR. And the CFR version of I wanna be your dog is great too. Or how about some Phantom Chords ??? Or maybe some crazy punk rock love songs in honour of V-Day. And let's not forget Doheny.....we'd love to hear it, so pimp it Billy.....pimp it.....and please keep the old (and new) Brit bands comming too..... You Rock, A.

Sounds like it was a good one ;)

Billy~ good to hear you had such a wonderful day too! I just went out to the Laugh Factory for a friend's birthday, and what a great surprise when the set was over....Robin Williams showed up and did an impromptu performance!! A nice birthday extra for my friend (and all of us actually!) anyway, sounds like it good times for the Aquarians!!

Hello Billy,

Do you have the Album Fan(s) by Malcolm Mclaren? If you do can you play one of those songs. If not how about The song Maria by Blondie. Can you play this one for my girlfriend Maria please.

Q: when you go to shows or just people that are well known, do you have to buy a ticket or are you invited.

Thanks and love you too. Happy Valentines Day to you and your wife.

Matt
