I LOVE THE RAIN....NOT!!
Its raining heavily in LA right now, and I worry about this city. Its just not set up for this amount of water. We just had those storms where houses were sliding into the middle of the street, and now we are getting more rain. No one can drive properly in it either, and there are horrific car wrecks everywhere. Its definately a time to keep your wits about you, and to stay inside if possible. Apart from the radio show on Saturday, I have stayed at home and got a lot of work done this weekend. Finally finished mixing that new Doheny demo, 'Machine' and I have moved on to another one called By My Own Design. Jon and I will be working on recording the vocals to that this week. And oh joy of joys......we are back in the rehearsal room tomorrow after a three week break. And three weeks seems like forever when you have been doing it for a year straight!! So I cannot wait to get back in with the guys and start working up the new ones that we have demoed. I also know that we will be announcing a show or two very soon. We wanna get back on a stage so badly - we just needed to have the time off to concentrate on writing new material. But we've done that now (successfully) so bring on the dancing girls (or at least, bring on a couple of local shows!!)
Its probably time for another online chat with the band (or as many of us as can actually get on a computer!!) so I will work out a day and time with the rest of them when I see them tomorrow in the Rehearsal Room. The first couple were a lot of fun - maybe we should do it on a Saturday afternoon, before Camp Freddy Radio? Or does the Sunday early evening thing work for you lot? Let me know - I'd love to time it so that the most people can get involved.
I have to leave you with this.....I am in love with Desperate Housewives!!! What an amazing show - Jen and I watch it religously and it never lets us down!! I am officially a D.H. Nerd!!! I think the UK is getting the show as well, but its behind the US so I dont want to ruin whats going on by describing anything - but someone let me know that I havent lost my mind ........ someone tell me that they are into it as well!! Vive Brie Vandercamp!!!!
Have fun, stay safe and see ya'll soon.
Peace
Billy

Funnily enough it's snowing in the East and South in the UK, but Manchester is lovely and sunny. The world is screwed up.
I love Desperate Housewives too. I had to forcibly not watch it last week because I was too ill to stay up late. We feverishly sweated the night away, whilst getting up to comfort the nipper who was coughing up his lungs.
On a D.H. theme[ish] do you settle down on a Sunday for a roast dinner now you live in the states. Y'know nice piece of beef, or chicken, all the veg, roast taters, stuffing Yorkie puds and lashings of gravy. Only the wife always makes the efforts even if they're Aunt Bessies roasties and puddings, still lovely though.
Aaah, Bisto!

Billy,
Another chat with the fellas sounds cool.
I prefer our usual Sunday evening time
slot if possible.
Have a good week everyone.

Oh you are not alone in your DH love my friend. I don't think the reason it's one of the top-rated television shows is because *nobody* is watching it. ;-)

Sunday would be better for me too.
Thanks for asking,
Matt

I live in Cali too Billy and am enjoying teasing all my friends back in the UK with stuff about D.H. I sent you a message, but just thought everyone might like to know how great Camp Freddie were the other night at the Pond....'Carry on rock star' didnt show much on stage...apart from when Adrian (no doubt) had his kit brought on...I take it that wasnt rehearsed!! And yay for us Brits in California....you should have kept my bloody flag instead of giving it to the damn yanks,....either that or given it back to me!

Swimming against the tide here (no pun intended, we've got snow, not rain!) I'd say Sat afternoon, that way it's not too late here...or Later on Sunday night, so it's first thing Monday morning here!
Maybe I'm just being shellfish (always saw myself as a Lobster! - hey are these peanuts mouldy - oh no, I just spout bollocks for a passtime, I forgot!)
Scary to think what a devastating effect a little rain can have if you're not ready for it...

heya guys,
gotta say I don't watch DH, don't particularly care for shows like that and cannot get into it.
Billy, love the picture you put up today.
As for chatting, anytime is good, but I know saturdays would be good for people overseas so they wouldn't have to be up late and go into work the next day. I mean when we have chat at 7 pm pacific, I believe it would be 3 am in the UK and most on a sunday night wouldn't bother because you have to be up for work. Anyway anytime is great as I said. ;)
oh billy, no hurry but if you know who is the administrator of the doheny forum is, can you ask them to check it, we have not been able to post anything on it for most of february, we keep getting errors.
well back to work!
hugs,
tina

Desperate Housewives is great and so is Lost. Do you watch that too? I highly recommend it.
Not to be a pain in the ass, but any update on those Tsunami shirts?

The benefit show in Anaheim was great! Rob Zombie is so fucking cool. I had my introductory experience of hydroplaning on the 5 that night - driving someone else's car, suddenly hitting 8" of water in the fast lane, and yelling "hazards! hazards!" as I had no idea where the button was for the emergency lights & no time to look! Welcome to L.A.?!?! (insert frazzled-looking smiley here)

* note to self..when I invite myself to Alchemy's place I must bring fins and a rubber duckie.
Finally caught a full episode of DH.. um.. is it just me or is that Brie person a Stepford refugee?

Thanks Tina for mentioning that about the Doheny Board. I've now emailed the contact email address three times with no reply or action.

oooh, Billy, I am with you about keeping wits about you in the rain, spent about 6 hours in L.A. on Sunday driving aimlessly around after getting lost twice, I owe my life to the patient drivers around me...
Just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed Saturday's show, you know, if this music thing pans out, you and Dave and Dono and the rest could be the next big thing in radio!!!!!
jezzi(it's that wicked sexy voice of yours)

Yea, it's me. I'm still around..long term suffering here with the flu. (I'll spare y'all the gory details) Stopped by to say I'm still here and hi everyone! I'd hug you but it may be catching. :S
Chatting~anytime is good for me.
D.H.~haven't watched it. I'm with Tina on both those subjects, spooky eh?
I'd rather watch reruns of old comedies. Okay I fess up, I'm an idiot over Red Dwarf and I can't help watching it repeatedly.
I've done a round or two of big bro, and celebs in the jungle, and all that. Bring back Johnny!!!
Love
Lisa

Arrrrgggh...the rain!! have been working non-stop for 5 days, and the rain makes everything worse! Besides the fact that the streets are flooding with water because the streets weren't meant to have so much water, the traffic is50 times worse, and I work in a clothes store...do ya thing people go shopping when its raining?? NOPE!! So the day is long and boring, then the few people who do come into aour store full of bright yellow and pink snadals and shorts, they all want winter jackets and umbrellas. Sold out of tose back in December because its not supposed to RAIN in CA!
Furthermore.....just kidding! ;) That was just my little rant about the rain =) Its actually nice when its raining and you can sit at home and enjoy it, but thats not always an option :( so we all endure it.
Anyway, I haven't been able to catch the last 2 CFR shows, working =( Hope to be able to listen this week! ...sorry for the previous rant...please forgive me =D

nothing to forgive abby, that's what families are for, and we are sort of a family. besides you all listen to me rant all the time about the snow WHICH it is doing right now, AGAIN. ;) I'll take rain over snow any day.
Lisa, it's always spooky that we agree on so much. maybe we're long lost sisters or something. I know i was born in the wrong country; I'm scottish in my heart. ;)
Grew up with an irish step-father, he's from belfast, so we always had british telly on.
Don't like Red Dwarf, give me python any day. ;)
snogs,
tina

Daffodils popping out of the ground. Spring sprung spring. Here it comes!
Posted by: ylais at February 23, 2005 05:36 AM
Tina! Yes, we've have a common ancestry there.
Scots Irish. (with some Cornish/Welsh and lord knows what else mixed in, as far as I know all
"Brit" though) Do you have freckles? :P
My Irish ways seem to get the better of me.
Father Ted. Now there's a great show. My absolute fave in fact. And I can scarily relate to it.
Bless you!
